Sadly, I own most of them already.
Edit : Telltale already has tales of Monkey Island at 70% off, $9.99
Yeah, let us know how it works out. I thought it was even earlier, like the second or third map, where you run past a wall of breaking glass that may slow your computer to a crawl.StuBurns said:I almost want to turn it on myself just to see how crippling it is.
I see what you did there, I wonder how many will make it to the end of your post before replying xDMarsipolami said:If there isn't any demo for Rage I think I'll just download it off of that other site. Talk Like A Pirate Day, right?
Used to, I thought if you started up your computer without an internet connection, offline would work automatically.Zaraki_Kenpachi said:Can someone help me understand offline mode with steam. If you do offline mode and then later go online do you have to click restart in offline mode before you lose that internet connection? If I forget to do that it gives me the connection on startup (which it's supposed to), I then choose restart in offline mode and it can't connect to steam, this must be a internet issue or a steam issue, for more help go to steampowered.com and then it proceeds to close the program so I can't get to my library and sign in offline to play my games until I get internet and choose restart in offline and as long as I don't go online it's fine. Is this normal?
The only DLC i'm missing is the one that just came out and has no discount. I'll wait for the next Magicka deal to get it.JaseC said:I just bought what I was missing of the Magicka DLC, even though I have no intention of using said content. The game would feel... naked without the additional crap.

Now you either need to go offline manually while you have a live internet connection, or else SOME people have the problem but not all. It's been a gripe about Steam for a long time. If the servers are ever messed up, NOsoupGAME FOR YOU.

Steam said:Start Steam online - make sure the Remember my password box on the login window is checked
Verify that all game files are completely updated - you can see the update status for a game under the Library section (when the game shows as 100% - Ready it is ready to be played in Offline Mode)
Launch the game you would like to play offline to verify that there are no further updates to download - shut down the game and return to Steam once you have confirmed that the game can be played
Go to Steam > Settings to ensure the Don't save account credentials on this computer option is not selected
From the main Steam window, go to the Steam menu and select Go Offline
Click Restart in Offline Mode to restart Steam in Offline Mode

Easy_D said:Wish they'd just use some system that allows you to verify your computer for Offline Mode, sort of how SteamGuard works so you can't abuse offline mode and share your games . I havent been able to access my Steam library for 3 weeks because you have to have an internet connection to launch it in offline mode
Yeah, it's probably just Episode 3 preloading for all the REAL Valve fans.adam.chance said:I don't see that in my library. Therefore, I refuse to believe it is something I want.
Sounds like there's a firewall blocking the Steam executable from connecting to the Steam servers - probably something pre-installed which is why you both get the same issue.Nekofrog said:Hey, I'm having an issue with Steam that hasn't been resolved in the last 2 months.
I bought a new laptop, and 95% of the time that I try to connect to it, it says that Steam can't connect because there is no internet blah blah blah. Google yields the answer: "delete your blob". So I deleted it. Steam redownloads it (painfully slowly), and then times out connecting again.
Sometimes it can literally take 5-10 minutes for it to finally time out. The connecting window usually freezes if you try to click on it, and eventually unfreezes 10 minutes later with the same error.
The thing is...
My friend bought the same laptop that I did (HP DV6t Quad Edition with the Radeon 6770M video card) with the intention of gaming, and lo and behold... she has the exact same problem.
I've tried everything that my vast google searches have told me to try. Deleting all my games, reinstalling steam, everything. Nothing fixes it.
Any ideas? Anyone? Bueller?
Did they both come pre-installed with Norton or some other crap?Nekofrog said:Any ideas? Anyone? Bueller?
Or add Steam to the exceptions list of said firewall.Joe Molotov said:Yeah, disable any firewall or anti-virus you've got on there.

The DLC was cheap during the Summer sale, that's when I got it all for about $5.Dice said:I got Magicka with the survival kit some time ago, which meant I was out of luck for DLC sales until now since they were previously only bundled with the main game. It's still kind of a pain. You have to go to the main Magicka game page, scroll to the bottom of all the listed bundles and stuff, expand the list of DLC, click add all DLC, then remove the ones you already have.
