I'm trying to try out Batman: AA on my pc, and when I try to start the demo I get this:

"blah blah blah

Value was either too large or too small for Int.32"

Any help?

from the Steam forum Archives :

downloaded the demo of Batman back around the time it was released. However it failed to start due to .NET framework error 'Value was either too large or too small for an Int32'.

I didn't think much of it, until this week when the sale started. As many will know, Batman has, specially for a game based of a film received a pretty good meta score, 91 / 100 therefore I was pretty keen on trying it.

However, I downloaded the GOTY edition demo from Fileplanet and unfortunately I had the same issue as before.

I ensured .NET framework was up to date. Along with Gfx drivers and Windows to no avail. But I did, eventually manage to get it working and for those that suffered similarly, here is how:

So as normal start with ensuring you have the most up to date versions of:

.NET Framework (At least 3.5 SP 1)
Windows Updates
Graphics Drivers

Then, and here comes the "hacky" part.

Download the Batman 1.1 patch (from Eidos, or Fileplanet or otherwise)
This will not install, due to the fact you've only got the demo
Using 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) or other archiving program (Not sure standard windows "Compressed folder" will work, but 7zip is free and WinZip and WinRar both have trials) extract both the BMLauncher.exe and BMLauncherUtils.dll.
Copy the files into your demo installation /binaries directory (don't replace the old, simply rename then out the way)
Run the launcher and play.

That's pretty much all I had to do. Pretty simple really, would have been easier if the 1.1 patch was able to patch the demo, or that the demo was updated somehow to include it.

The demo is pretty short, but it was just good enough to convince me to buy the game - maybe since I spent so long trying to get it to work, but oh well.

Good luck.

EA ? Activision ?

Also, ID falls under Bethesda, no?

Didn't they mention going after Skyrim and Rage earlier ? Bethesda seems like the best bet.

They already signed with EA.

It's either Bethesda or THQ. My money's on Bethesda because of the same reasons you gave.

Universal Access can be found under System Preferences
Are these kinda like the indie packs that were 5/$5 at the holiday sale? Must be because I already have a few of these games. Still, that's not bad.

This didn't work. Couldn't even update 3.5.1 (which is probably up to date anyway).

Fuck this. Only wanted to try the demo and see how the game performed, already beat it twice on 360.

Hopefully this doesn't happen to me for Arkham City.

man some quality games in those packs.

but there's a very high chance they will all appear in a humble bundle in the future, no? and you'll have every version of the game + surprises when they add stuff randomly, etc

i only own one game from every pack. hmm idk.

does it count as one game if you gift it, for example?

Two Worlds 2 is a 40 hour RPG with a pretty deep multiplayer component. I don't see how $25 is somehow out of line.

Steam sales have spoiled you guys.

Things that get old go down in MSRP. 50% is a great discount, but not off a $50 MSRP when we're talking about a game that's coming on a year old and just got a $30 expansion.

If you don't own Defence Grid or Sanctum you really, really need to buy that indie strategy pack. I wish I could say something about Anomaly or Titans as I own both but I haven't gotten around to playing either.

Sanctum and Defence Grid alone are worth the ten bones.

Revenge of the titans is a bit confusing but still fun. Anomaly is awesome. A really great try for Tower Offence.

It's an open world wrpg, he doesn't even need to play it.

Yeah and it had good graphics which are the only two things he needs.

The actual game is pretty bad though. Not TW1 bad, but still pretty bland and boring.
