Oh I agree guys, it's probably not coming out in September. I'm just not so sure it's even coming out in October either. It doesn't seem like it actually a release date yet.

The worst is when I pre-ordered Dungeon Defenders. They said it would be out last November.

Yeah, i was thinking about it the other day, the dungeon defenders thing is pretty crazy.

Thanks to confused for the DC collection hook-up!

It's kind of lame how the Genesis games get listed under one name in the list. I wanted to add Shining Force 1 and 2 to my Strategy category. I should have just bought the whole damn pack.

The front end is atrocious too.

I like these prices. $2 for Alpha Protocol, I figured it looks interesting enough for no additional DRM and some random secret agent game.

Apparently you can't play the old Railworks versions anymore, but Train Simulator 2012 is now on my Steam list. I like these free upgrades. =D

Last but not least, daily deal was some Nancy Drew game for less than $3! That was clearly an instabuy. I mean, I read like all of the Hardy Boys books and none of Nancy Drew, but I assume she's still awesome, right?

I actually prefer ME and AP to Witcher 2. :\

I'm not a fan of fantasy settings and the game is way hard at the beginning.
Nah it's a little challenging if you don't know what to do, but once you know what to do it's kind of easy. It's skill based which is rare in an rpg.

I think you can see where I'm going with this ;)

Never heard about Nancy Drew, the trailer looks kinda meh. Is it a good game?

So what are the chances that eventually Steam will get Full Throttle, Grim Fandango and/or Day of the Tentacle? LucasArts adventure games and the original Half Life are what I primarily joined for..

I played one in the past and it was an okay adventure/hidden object game. They're the kind of games that are decent at a few bucks.

Seeing as there are already four of LucasArts' point-and-click games on there I'd say the chances aren't bad on seeing them there one day. I'm personally waiting for GOG to get them.

I'd say they're pretty low. Valve don't seem very interested in getting older games on their service, so I wouldn't expect it unless LucasArts decides to rerelease them.

Keep an eye on GOG.com, though. It's safe to assume that they're pursuing LucasArts' catalog so if those games end up anywhere, it'll be there.

I'd say pretty low.
There was a time where LucasArts started releasing some of their classical games and inclusively releasing Monkey Island with remaked graphics, since then though I believe they changed Presidents of the company, who seems to have dropped the idea of taking advantage of their older games.

At this point, I'd expect those games on GOG before Steam just because GOG actively pursues old properties like that while Steam is content to let the publishers come to them. ..and that awesome Lucasarts president that was interested in their back catalog is already gone.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. What a shame.

Yeah, Valve is more passive about getting games on Steam. They don't really have a staff dedicated to swooning publishers.

Ok Im prepared for the rock throwing...... I dont know what GOG is.... =/

They're a site dedicated to getting older PC games and reworking them so they run on modern computers. Their prices are good, too. With the exception of The Witcher 2 no game is more than $10.

For instance, I saw Out of this World/Another World or whatever was coming to iOS devices, I wondered if I could still get it on PC, and then I found GoG already had it. Since GoG might have had less DRM and Steam didn't have the game at all, I got it at GoG.

Grim Fandango and maybe the Neverhood are two other old games that I'd love to get on Steamworks or some other service, but as far as I know they're nowhere.

They have a staff dedicated to swooning development teams, but it doesn't manifest in Steam, it manifests in Valve suddenly getting larger and working on new projects ;)

Aww baby, did no one buy your friends copy of [insert latest game] for 5-10$ less than the pre-order price?

im done mang, i mentioned once that i got a new game for 25 bucks less than what it goes for (not from a friend) and if someone wanted to get it as well and yet i get treated like some shitty salesman. I dont go into the steam chat often cause im doing other shit, but if i findout about something like this i go there to tell gaffers about it.

im a cheap ass bastard when i can, i dont like spending 60 bucks on games and i like to share when i find out about deals like that, thinking people would appreciate it, but somehow i get shit about it as if im getting a cut out of it or some nonsense crap.

While not directly Steam related, I just found a copy of Out of this World at a Thrift Store for 1.99

It was fun since the iPhone version just came out for 4.99. Thrift Stores are really nice places to find older boxed PC stuff.

Okay the PC port of Sonic DX is a disaster. Even in 720p fullscreen (can't even go up to 1080p) the game plays in a tiny box and aliasing is everywhere. Editing the config file doesn't seem to help. Oh and my 360 controller isn't recognized, so I can't change the controls.

So tired of these lame ass ports...

UPDATE: After browsing the Steam forums, I managed to make it run in full screen, but it's still not running at a very high resolution, and it's still super-pixelated. But hey at least it's playable and I only paid 3 bucks for it

I was thinking abt getting it for Sonic. Now will have to rethink my decision.

I have a friend who works there that gets paid with just games. There's been 2 times now where he wanted to buy soemthing and to make a couple bucks he sold extra copies of the games he gets for much cheaper than what they went for new. I' heard about this and offered the chance to Gaffers, but most of the time when i say i heard about a deal of a game for cheap it has nothing to do with this dude and its just a deal, like the ones i sometimes make threads about.

I always thought of it as a delicate situation as idk how the site would react about it, since they dont pay him money. You could say that since that's the way he gets paid he's free to do whatever he wants with that, but still, for that reason i never specifically mentioned it here in the open.

Hell, I was nice to you :/

i said except you on the chat didnt i? lol :p

Im not serious btw, i dont think everyone's an asshole, but i think im just gonna stop talking about deals and whatnot since i seem to be building some sort of shady salesman reputation for some reason. Conversation on the chat went literally like this:

"Hey i got **** for 35 bucks today, figured someone would be interested in that, heads up"

"No fuck off"

sooo yeah, point taken. I know we all joke around and no one's dead serious in there but i got a bit tired of it.
