I'd buy DX (if I didn't have the PC disc already) just for the Chao Garden. Rest of the game is buggy as fuck at times, but fun gameplay all the same. It's still a classic, imo.

Is the data extractable from the Genesis collection for use elsewhere?

(On a similar note, is that true of the SCUMM titles? Would be nice to have them on my PSP)

Not sure, but when I bought a physical disc in the Mega Drive Classics from GAME, I was able to copy that data from the disc into the Steam folder in PAK files, I think it was?

After playing Dead Island and Duke Nukem Forever, I think I'm going to be in a holding pattern till Arkham City. I just can't get into either game. DNF is too dated and Dead Island has so many issues that bother me. The biggest being the crackling audio when doing, well, anything. :/

Don't let 2 bad games affect your willingness to purchase actual good games. Batman will be amazing no doubt but since it was delayed there's probably quite a bit coming before it now.

Man what the fuck at Space Channel 5. It recognizes up only when I press the down on both my controller and PC. It doesn't save my config settings, and the highest aspect ratio is like 1240x1024. I JUST WANNA DANCE.
You have to copy the config.ini file to Documents\SEGA\name of your game to be able to edit the game config (and to save, because if oyu fail to create that folder you may have trouble saving).

Working just fine for me. I have it set in the options so it auto-subscribes whenever I post in a thread.

Unless you talking about the option to have it Email you when someone posts. I don't think that works. You'd get like a thousand emails a day if you email subscribed to this thread, anyway.

Which of these Dreamcast and Genesis games are worth it? I never had either system but I'm probably going to get Crazy Taxi, and what else is recommended?

yeap i set it to email though. :/
hmm what does the auto-subscribe do for you?
(other than being able to check it from the Subscription Menu, you don't get notifications or anything right?)

Yeah, you just have to check the Subscriptions tab and see if any of the threads you've subscribed to are active. Email hasn't worked in a long time (maybe ever).

How good is the emulation with the Genesis/Dreamcast games? If it's not so good, how easy is it to extract the ROM and use a third-party emulator with it?

wow props to valve, got to play CS:GO and got a beta key, they even gave out t-shirts as well, got two which was very nice. Some people asked them about HL3, they joked and asked to email one of the staff on hand about it. It also looks like comfy couch mode is still in works at the moment as well :|

I went and bought all the Genesis titles for $15, even though I bought some of them before on XBLA/PSN/Virtual Console. Having all of them in one place was too good to pass up.

I personally rock PixelVision

Mainly because he constantly updates his to keep up with Steam changes.

And its the least annoying one in terms of minimalism, design, typography cohesion (nothing annoys me more than applications using a smörgåsbord of fonts for shits and giggles)

Anyone here on Windows 7 ever have a problem with Steam disabling your headset after playing around with settings, or doing anything related to Steam voice chat?

I got invited to a chat group yesterday, and all the sudden the sound was playing through my laptop, not my headphones. I tried unplugging and plugging them back in, but that did nothing. It seems like it made it so my headset was no longer recognized by my computer.

This also happened once when I was messing around with notification settings.

I didn't even know this was possible and had assumed Steam had abandoned skins after the big overhaul sometime back. Gonna give this custom one a shot.

It's shit. Get Outland if you haven't. Or Shadow Complex.

EDIT: nvm, thought I was in the XBLA thread.

Quick question... I downloaded Limbo's demo and for some reason it ran like crap... Mostly around 25fps and sometimes dipping to 16...

Now, I'm pretty certain my laptop can run it just fine, it ran Portal 2 pretty well for crying out loud.. So I suspected the issue to be either the game itself or the drivers.. Google'd, only thing I seen is some announcement that it should run at 60fps

So now I'm thinking it's either the demo or most likely the drivers.. Unfortunately, Nvidia's retarded drivers don't recognize my GPU for some stupid reason, and the Asus website don't have the latest driver up...
Anyone, please?

I just tried this skin but the color of the main steam window seemed to still be grey. I need to look up how to adjust it.

you make us envious, sire!

-on a separate note, what's GAF favorite steamskin?

I like Savvy UI, I like how it matches the store and forum looks. http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/4440/savvyuipromo0910.jpg

Anyway, those of you who bought the dreamcast collection and wants to play it under custom resolution, you can use universalreschanger from ToCA EDIT. You can download it here: http://www.tocaedit.com/IB/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=6

Open universalreschanger2.zip and copy d3d9.dll and resolution.ini to the dreamcast games folder (e.g. steam\steamapps\common\space channel 5 part 2)

Open resolution.ini with notepad and change width and height to your desired resolution.
Screenshot of SC5 Part 2: http://steamcommunity.com/id/n00b21/screenshot/576683235346507557

Sonic Adventure DX will still be in a letterbox if you use it though, you can set the game config.exe to a 4:3 resolution and then use the universalreschanger if you want to (but it'll stretch on 16:10 or 16:9)

So I played Rusty Hearts for two hours today and it was quite a surprise. I was expecting the tipical click click click MMO business but instead I've got a decent pure action game. 360 pad works great also.

I'll definitely spend more time with it.

Is it me or has Steam been unstable for the last couple of days? I keep getting disconnected from the client, and the store takes forever to load (or just loads a barely readable page)...

I'm having a bit of trouble with the Steam client at the moment. First, it's not showing 2/3 of the games I have installed at the moment, and when I try to open or install a game, a blank dialogue box pops up and it doesn't do anything.
