its mindless fun....at least thats what i remember.

Yeah I remember having tons of fun with it o the 360. I think it's a great arcade-y third person shooter. I don't understand all the hate it gets.

Gun has one of the worst end bosses in videogame history. Such a buzzkill to what is otherwise a fun little game.

EDIT: Keep in mind that the PC version of Gun is a port of the PS2 version, not the 360 version.

Eh, from the Steam forums :

would agree with one of the above posters. While there are *many* things that make this game annoying, including:

* the resolution
* the stuttering
* the low-res textures
* the lousy graphics for a 2005 game
* the mechanical NPC gestures when they talk in non-cinematic scenes
* not being able to escape out of cut-scenes or the ending credits

but I still had fun playing it. However, I would never play it again.

The open endedness is cool, but the annoying elements (especially the stuttering and lousy/low-res graphics) would probably ensure that I'll never really take advantage of that open endedness. I don't see myself ever playing it again.

yeah, I'm going to pass.

Gun was on my wishlist for the Summer Sale, but is the PC version any good? I liked it when I played it on GameCube way back when. I just don't know if it's really worth the $5 now.
I think it was Xbox1 port, not 360.

Gun is a rough port, but other aspects of it make it a hidden gem in my book. The story and characters are quite enjoyable and the gameplay is pretty fun.

Yea, I'm gonna stay away from that then.

I bought Shinobi III instead and kinda irritated that it doesn't show up by itself. Ah well. No biggie. The game's been on my wishlist since June '10.

GUN > Red Dead Redemption

Also, Eternal Champions is awesome. Still has some of the best character bios for any fighting game around and the soundtrack is still decent. Game definitely deserved a sequel at some point, or an online mode at least would be cool.

man that cdgamekey site is great when it comes to customer service. Top notch. They are sending me a scan of the serial from deus ex that i bought yesterday. Its really sad to see such a tiny site offer amazing customer service that is fast and easy while Valve still is on the ticket system.

I think it might be easier to support a smaller customer base one on one than Steam's 35 million users.

I realize that but Blizzard offers phone support just fine. Valve is the preeminent digital distributor in PC games. They have a responsibility to find a way that offers a system other the ticket system. It's simply unacceptable in today's age. I don't care if it only takes 24 hours to get your account back or what have you. I should be able to contact someone online or on the phone and take care of it immediately. Greater success brings greater responsibility and Valve hasn't moved into the area of better customer service yet.

I remember liking it when I played it on Xbox several years ago. I actually just added it to my wishlist recently, but $5 seems a bit much. After looking at some screens of it, I don't think I can play it after Red Dead. $2.50 would have been a "fuck it, why not" price point.

Gun was a pretty good game when it came out and I'll agree with the hidden gem phrase, but again like others have said the PC port is really bad. If you have consoles it's better just to rent it or pick it up really cheap there. I wouldn't say it's better than Red Dead as a whole but I certainly enjoyed it more than RDR.

Eh, it sounds like GUN is rough on PC, but there are so few wild west games I figure that's worth $5.

That was what I was thinking at first, but I dunno. This doesn't so much just step over my tolerance limit as floor it on approach and leave two smouldering skid marks across it.

What im seriously still debating is VT4 considering i dont have any Tennis game on Steam..
Same, considering it. Rented it on 360 and it was as fun as Virtua Tennis always is. There seemed less depth and longevity to it than Top Spin 4, but obviously that isn't on Steam. It's only £10 here too, so I might pick it up before the sale ends.

Ugh, I already beat GUN twice on consoles (once on Xbox, once on Xbox360).

But considering my Xbox is dead and I really want to play a western, I went and bought it.

Started playing it again and the magic is mostly gone; killed dead by RDR, which did everything much much better.

I was just in the middle of a Minecraft session, launched through Steam, and when I tried to use the web browser I was given an error prompt saying my account was logged in somewhere else. I tried to resign in, but it's giving me a wrong error password and telling me I need to sign off my other computer first -- but I never signed in anywhere else.

Has somebody got into my Steam account? I didn't get an email about a new computer authentication. But I can't log in.

Nevermind I guess, just tried again and it's working. It wasn't connecting for maybe ten minutes, but maybe it was an issue on Valve's end.

And with this...

...I am the Master of the Universeeeeeeeeeeee! Better known as 1.2% of all Civ V players :/

So I've completed Civ V with every Civ that there's an achievement for in the main game, which excludes pretty much all of the DLC scenario add-on Civs. It's been interesting trying out all of the various civilizations and seeing what their advantages and disadvantages are.

So that's every map size, type, every Civ and all difficulties up to and including Emperor. All that's truly left in the main game is to complete the Immortal and Deity difficulties buuuuut I have a feeling that's going to take me a while given my first two abortive runs with Korea and Babylon.

Oh man i always wanted to know how shitty The Club is first-hand. Wish it was as cheap as Alpha Protocol.
I really like The Club! I can totally understand people not liking it, like any game, but it seems much of the negativity comes from the game being judged for what it isn't instead of what it is. It's much more of a racing game than a shooter (it's a Bizarre Creations game, after all!). There's no plot, no complex goals beyond improving scores and times, and the different characters are really just like choosing different cars.
