I have a question about summer sale, since its my first time. Is it a week long sale, with generous discounts on game packs? And each day, a special additional discount is put on certain games, correct? So I would 1) only buy games that are discounted additionally, and 2) wait till the last day of the summer sale and purchase any game I would like that has not been discounted additionally?

This will be my first steam sale. I just started PC gaming a few months ago after I built an awesome computer, my body is ready but my wallet isnt.

I wonder if Lucasarts is ever going to add more of their back catalogue to Steam. They have a different President from when that started so that push may have changed :(

This spring when GOG posted the list of five publishers (Take 2, MS, EA, Lucasarts, Eidos) that they wanted to sign and said they had "signed one of them and were very close on a second one"), I think the assumption was always that LucasArts was either the signed publisher or the close publisher. Since we now know that EA was the signed publisher, I guess we'll see if Lucasarts is the other one within 6 months or so.

I mention this entirely unrelated anecdote in the Steam thread because there really haven't been many legacy titles added to Steam over the last year or two and I think GOG is a much more likely destination if there's got to be one.

I was so filled with hope for Lucasarts when EA got revealed on GOG. I went into deep depression after the reveal.

Yep, all signs point to a sale starting tomorrow. Killing Floor should have some Summer DLC event thing that starts the 30th.

So it looks like EA is having a big sale on Bad Company 2 and BC2: Vietnam later on tonight. I have BC2 vanilla purchased through Steam, does anyone know if it's possible to add on Vietnam if it's bought through a different DD retailer?

Try adding your BFBC2 key from Steam onto Origin, then buy Vietnam on Origin. Good to go =P

You'll have to redeem it through Origin (CD Key).

I remember during last year's Summer sale, I was on vacation with my girlfriend in North Carolina. Everyday we would check the deals together and have a discussion about what was worth the money.

The way Vietnam works is it works within BC2.exe and you unlock the game with any Vietnam CD key purchased any where. So if you buy Vietnam off else where once you load up BC2 on steam, you can enter the CD key for Vietnam and it will work. The game just gets added to you EA account and that's how it works I believe.
