While reading this post an email popped up in the account that Steam uses and for less than a second I thought I won.

It was actually a customer survey from D2D.

If I am correct: If you win, the games will automatically download/pre-purchase on your account so keeping Steam open is the best way to know if you won or not. :)

Oh and "Sweepstakes Winners. Sponsor will select one hundred (100) winners by random drawing from all valid entries by July 12, 2011. No later than August 1, 2011."

FWIW, I ordered my Modern Warfare 2 key from G2Play and haven't had Valve's mighty hammer thrown down at me. Same with the FEAR 3 key from IntKeys.

How is MLB on PC? Any better than the console versions? Can it be modded?

Yeah. There's nothing even remotely fun or transparent about their drawings. You'll know when they've drawn after copies of people's winning e-mails start randomly popping up on the internets.

I've always found it odd that people single out sports like that. You can step out the door and have 17 other people instantly ready to play a game of baseball with you? At any time of the day/night? That's one magical land you live in.

I picked up 2k10 when it was $2 and I still feel ripped off. I won't bother with MLB 2k11.

NBA2k11 is still going strong. :D

I wanted it to be a daily deal during the sale, would have bought it for 8 or under.

MLB 2k11 at 10 is a goddamn deal but baseball games aren't really worth it for me, I end up simulating most of the season and nothing has beat MVP 2005 in pure fun

So wait, Aquaria supports the Xbox 360 controller? I'm plugging in it, and doesn't do anything; I was afraid it was broken or something, but it works with other games.

Unfortunately video game situations (pull up a server and have 17 other people waiting in a lobby) doesn't quite work when applied to real life. That being said, I like soccer but I find playing virtual sports simply doesn't work out for me because I'd rather be part of the game in a physical sense instead of just sitting at my computer.

Now if they design a hologram system...

When you launch the game for the first time it asks if you want to enable the controller. If you somehow bypassed this it doesn't ask you again. Go to the Aquaria directory in Steam and launch the config exe -- you can enable the controller here.

I have no idea what to make of it. It's a fragment followed by a sentence followed by a fragment that contradicts the sentence. It's basically useless as far as conveying information.

The random drawing on July 12 is for those who participated through Steam, the random drawing on August 1 is for those who participated through mail, it's for the manual entries.

On the contrary, I felt like I got an incredible deal with MLB 2k10 at $2. It's quite moddable (2k10 is, I'm not sure about 2k11) and quite fun. I pretty much exclusively play the Superstar mode as a starting pitcher, and it's like a sports RPG. You get points based on your performance and over time your player gets better and better attributes.

It plays a good game of baseball as well. While MLB 11 The show on the PS3 is a superior baseball game, 2k10 (and I'm sure 2k11) isn't far behind. If you have any passing interest in baseball, I recommend getting the game.

Since I have so much progress in MLB 2k10, I don't think I'll get 2k11, unless somehow I can carry my superstar player over.

Pretty off topic, but if anyone would know it would be you guys.

I recently made a purchase from The Valve Store (an Aperture mug, mousepad, and the companion cube plush). It was perfect because it was $55 so I qualified for the free shipping. Now, today, customer service emailed me telling me that the cube is out of stock and that they would be sending me the mug and mousepad only. However, they are now also charging me the $10 shipping. I feel that's pretty unfair because they didn't ask me if I even wanted to continue with the order and my order is incomplete even though the website let me put the order through.

I've replied to the email, but Steam is horribly slow with responding (I know because I once had to go through their customer service to retrieve my Steam password. Is there a faster way of contacting them? I do not want them to go through with this order because it is not what I contracted to buy from them and not at the agreed upon price as well.

EDIT: NVM, right when I posted, Steam responded and took off the shipping charge. Record time with the response.

As I figured reading your post, it's not the same support that handles the swag store as the group that handles steam support, it's probably an entire different department.

Yeah they probably get way fewer customer inquiries than the group that handles Steam purchases. Valve store response - 5 mins, Steam customer service response - 5 days.

Is there something wrong with the Steam servers recently? I was getting 1.1mb download speed which is my max and lately i can't seem to get above 500k. I changed servers 4-5 times even picked the one in my country(was surprised there was a greek one) but still nothing.

Correct, it was in one of the Humble bundles, and they added them later as they got keys for it to Steam.

I caved and bought the Epic "unreal pack", don't really care if there is a community left, unreal tournament games are always fun to just mess around with bots in.

Question about KOTOR.

Has anyone gotten the game to run in widescreen mode successfully without the hud being screwed up?

I've tried for the last hour trying to get it to run in 1440x900/1600x900 with no luck. The resolutions work. The hud is the problem. I've tried the 1440x900 hud fix with mo luck.

Playing Swords and Soldiers HD, and it's really nice. Looks great, charming, and very accessible entry into strategy type games, which I have very little experience with. Pretty challenging, for me anyway. Had to send out fodder to defend my miners,>amass gold>overwhelm.

I wish they'd just release a stupid patch. Seems to still be a popular game.

Mostly interested for Warhammer but would also be cool to check out Metro and Homefront.

Just wondering, how does the HUD look? I have mine running at 1920x1080, but I didn't really notice anything wrong with the HUD.
