I asked this in the questions thread, but maybe you guys are the people to ask.

Although the Mirror's Edge DLC is not on Steam, nor is the Mass Effect 2 DLC and you buy that from EA and it works with the Steam version. Does the Mirror's Edge DLC work with the Steam version?

No.

I believe there's a way to hack them in so you can play the levels, but you can't set times or ghosts. I've never tried it myself though.

The mass effect 2 dlc does however work with the steam version

That is what he said, he is wondering if the same applies to Mirror's Edge. I don't think it does, but you can take your cd-key and enter it into Origin (heresy, I know), and then the dlc will work with that version.

If he is 20 then he was born in 1991, how the fucks does that even

I got into PC gaming pretty late (mostly for financial reasons and my mom getting an used computer). Was rocking Doom I and 2 by 1999 and thought it was pretty damn awesome. Got into Half-Life around 2002. It can happen... :p

Can anyone confirm this? It doesnt say there it activates on steam

Even if you bought it, where would you use it? Would you have to download the ISOs from a torrent site to install it? Or does CDProjekt have an activation method over at GOG?

Kinda fishy... D:

He said he left after DOS, implying he was there when the era ended.

It's a Steam key, you put it into Steam.

Does no one read here?

The site is selling it as a Steam key, so assuming they aren't lying then it will activate in Steam.

That's my question, tho. If SteamPowered does not have Witcher 2 on the list of games to register, how will it work? I don't think it's legit.

Did you... read the link I posted?

People have bought the Witcher 2 key and used it with Steam. Typically happens with Steam keys. I believe it's a multilingual key, but not a Russian key, since they would have to use your account and activate it, or you would need a VPN.

That guy will personally e-mail you and tell you what you need to do with the key.

I think the company is based in Isreal, though his name sounds Russian.

Yes, the IntKeys cdkey for the Witcher 2 is a retail Russian key... its weird, but it works.

Just a normal key, that you add to steam in the usual way.

Presumably it works like a gift copy emailed to someone. Those give codes that activate on Steam, even for non-steamworks games.

Doing some research it seems the Russian retail release was Steamworks, they did have a different publisher after all.

There are a few other key sites that sell Russian Steam keys for it.

People have had games removed from their lists from buying keys in the past from sketchy sites like G2play and this sounds like the exact same setup. I would be careful.

Have any gaffers had their games removed? or are you referring to the Internets.

Steam forums. People push G2Pplay shit very rarely here and people generally aren't stupid enough to pursue the deals.

Dragon Age has crashed numerous times, erasing nearly an hour of progress each time. I need to learn to save more often.
I found it got crashy towards the end, but never that much.

It was quite a famous thing when they banned a lot of MW2 keys:

This the only reported case? Just to note he was not talking to a customer service rep. So its hard to know why his game was really removed.

No gaffers then. This just leads me to believe that the people who did have their games removed were repeated offenders abusing the system or Activision trying their best to protect their games aka get as much money as possible.

I've seen many gaffers post in the past relating to buying games form G2Pplay. I even recall gaffers saying its most likely safe to buy if your in Europe due to stopping trading in the European Union is a no no. Don't really know the in's and out's on that but seems right to me.

I'm getting at that Steam may not really penalise people with the one off's.

Yeah, but it probably means that it is a load of bullshit. Just attempting to give himself some sort of creditability.

I wouldn't get the Witcher Key. Steam doesn't take kindly to people reselling their games. Probably best to just wait on it. Be 25$ during the Winter Sale

SO I was curious about the IntKeys and their ability to sell steam games for cheap.

Their "About Us" page is barely a paragraph of BS, the privacy policy is non-existent and the "Contact Us" page contains SAMPLE TEXT.

Yeah, uhh no thanks.

I've had no problem with key sellers. Great way to buy games. People from Europe and Australia have no moral qualms getting US prices on games. Why should we have qualms about getting Russian prices?

EDIT:

Ironically, the only key that has every been deactivated on me was a Saints Row 2 key from the THQ.uk store. :lol

What are you running?

I'm on a 5670 and it's surprisingly smooth (everything maxed at 720p).
6770m. Quad Core.

I'm getting 25-30 with everything maxed at 1360x768. Turn stuff down, and maybe get an 8 fps increase.

So Deus Ex HR is on sale on Green Man for $36. Do they email me a product code that I just punch into steam? Does it happen now or on release?

Damn! I think I'll bite right now too. Would also like to know this.

I'm seeing it for $44.99 actually...

I saw it at $45 also but when I added to the cart is shows up as $37.

edit: I was able to checkout and purchase for $37. The emails says I have to wait until release for the product key though.

Are you using D3DOverrider?

It might help your situation. I've got triple buffering and v-sync on.

I'm not very knowledgeable on these topics though, I'll admit.

Yep. Always on. Actually, let me turn it off and see how it runs (for some reason, D3D kills ACII for me).

I'm at work, so let me check later if I do, in fact, have all the settings maxed. I'd hate to worry you over nothing.

How much RAM are you running? I'm on 4GB.
