Quit the game after 2-3 hours of playing it. If you notice that loadings takes more time then before, you know it's time to restart the game.Obsessed said:Oh great
Is there nothing I can do to prevent the memory leak bullshit?
Derrick01 said:I never had a problem with slowdowns or crashing in the 70ish hours I put into the game. I believe there was some longer loading times after a while but never any of the other stuff.
Hmm. I just installed it recently (in my wasted excitement for Dragon Age II) and patched it to the latest version and didn't notice any of the memory leaks that plagued the game at launch. In fact, some of the patch notes say that the memory leaks have been taken care of for the most part. It played just fine for me and I didn't have the ten minute loads that I had at launch. For reference, I didn't have the Steam version.Mr_Zombie said:Quit the game after 2-3 hours of playing it. I once had a bug when after few hours of playing the AI stopped working, ie. enemies didn't attack you, auto combat didn't work (your companions just stand there, and if you wanted the character you were playing to fight, you had to constantly click on the enemy/abilities), and some scenes just didn't trigger. Restarting the game helped.

Doing It The Hard Way
Weenerz said:Don't play it. Play The Witcher 2 instead.
GDJustin said:With my Hard Drive completely full and ~10 games still uninstalled, I decided to shelve Majesty and Doom 1 for now, and focus on completing games based on how many GB they are, ha.
Darksiders (10GB) is up first. Dead Space (7GB) will be next. The Witcher at 14GB is actually the biggest offender of all right now, but I'm not quite ready or willing to dive into it.
I was able to abid by my own variation of that rule, only two games the entire sale, $7 total. Not much chance of a backlog build up from them alone.CecilRousso said:Think I did ok with the sale in terms of backlog fears, but now it´s time to enfore the old rule: If it´s not one my anticipated releases - demo is required before purchase. Even if it´s a 2 euro game. So no Jamestown and no Terraria or games like that now.

Instead of taking out the Summer Holiday sales they put it in an "expand" it design.SalsaShark said:

Seeing as that happened after the Summer sales I assume it means we'll be allowed to show off our holidays acheivements.
I personally like it but I know a friend who doesn't, so hopefully they allow us to edit it.
Something of side bar for the special sale achievements would be pretty awesome. More if they can retrieve the Potato and Summer Sale ones.crimsonheadGCN said:The expand it design is only temporarily according to a Valve employee. There is going to be a more permanent place for it in the coming weeks, probably a separate webpage and a link to that webpage on the community page.

Sutton Dagger said:So I'm having an issue with BFBC2. I don't think the high settings are sticking, cause it doesn't look that great and Fraps is recording my FPS as between 100-120, impossible for high settings considering I'm running at 2560x1440 res?
Edit: Apparently it was running in DX9 so I manually changed it to DX10. Now the weirdest thing is happening and I've never experienced it before, I'm getting motion sickness, I think from the FOV. What would be the preferred FOV on a 2560x1440 16:9 monitor, I can change it in the ini settings.

Xapati said:I'm not getting any of the confirmation emails though for the Steam Guard stuff either. I tried opening a Steam Support account with my email adress and I didn't get the confirmation email either. So I created a different Steam Support account with an alternative email address and that however did receive the confirmation email...

How Steam Brought a Console Convert Back to the PC Gaming Fold
uhhhhhhhhI was still pro console gamer... up until a point in 2010. That was when I was in college . . .

DOS, short for "Disk Operating System",[1] is an acronym for several closely related operating systems that dominated the IBM PC compatible market between 1981 and 1995

JaseC said:IntKeys are selling The Witcher 2 Steam keys for USD$20. I purchased my FEAR 3 key from these fellas and it activated just fine. They even e-mail you a (legible) photo of the key as opposed to simply having it as text.
I'd jump on this myself if I didn'twastespend over USD$160 during the Steam sale.
