So suddenly I cannot use the steam client on my Mac to purchase games. The only thing that works is the library list. When I go to the store page I see nothing but a gray window with a slidebar on the right-hand side. Any ideas what this could be?

Happens to me all the time, just force quit/relaunch it.

I enjoy the madness this thread brings after a steam sale.
On-topic: Should I buy Jade Empire if I still have most of KOTOR and all of Dragon Age: Origins to play for the first time?

Hmm, I got away under $30 for the sale. I already have a huge backlog, so I resisted increasing it too much.

Also, can anyone help, Windows 7 64 bit here. The Steam icon is broken, and I can't fix it. Tried reinstall, tried deleting shortcut and remaking, tried pin/unpin. No luck.

Hey bro, cheer up. Every post I've seen from you has made me depressed to a degree. You're probably the most boring, anti-humoristic person I've ever witnessed on GAF.

edit: I'm not even trying to be rude, I'm just saying the vibes I've gotten from you (by the 15-20 posts I've read). At least try and fake a smiley here and there, trust me, it helps.

How much more games do you have in your backlog? I've not played Jade Empire but if you don't have many more games and have an interest in playing it you might as well go for it.

And speaking of Dragon Age did anybody else feel rather underwhelmed about it? I was really looking forward to it but the combat system, [spoilers for the Mage area]

and what felt to me like a lack of conscequences really just dampened my enthusiasm and despite buying the ultimate edition I never was able to get through Awakening. Just wondering if anybody else had a similar experience (although I guess [the same mage area vague spoilers]
The Fade
isn't as bad on PC as it is on consoles due to the ability to skip it) as I had heard nothing but praise for it yet couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed.

I don't mean to be that rude to you. I have been in the past a bit, I remember, in some other threads. Don't take it personally. I'm sorry if I made you sad.

I'm just pretty dry most of the time.

I mostly just saw that last post as complaining about complainers, which is in my mind is as bad as the original complaining and then you get in this loop. If they can ignore stuff they don't like (but still don't for whatever reason) then others can probably ignore them as well (but probably still won't).

On a semi-related notice, this masterpiece by Stevie deserves reposting.

Chell walked into yet another cold, basic test chamber. Must have been the thousanth by now. She had lost count long ago.

"This test chamber has never been beaten... well by anyone without a brain. You probably won't be able to do it. In the records I put you in with the brainless subjects so statistically, you'll just fail." It was the same computer voice that has followed her all the way through this hell echoing through the speakers one more time.

Chell sat on the ground finally completely discouraged. There was no point to continuing. There must be an infinite amount of these rooms. She had seen the computer shuffling them around, she could just make more on the fly! Why bother with anymore of this?

"Oh has your will finally broken? A little later than expected, but no matter. Oh and we no longer have any clean up robots... you destroyed them all. So please if you will, just throw yourself in that acid pit over there."

Chell just sat. Silent. She was so tired. There was almost nothing that could make her continue.

All of a sudden though one of the floor tiles near her raised up and moved out of the way. "I guess you have deserved some rest and relaxation. I understand some humans need some... stimulation... every once and a while." A smaller, thinner turret, about the 10 inches long and the width of a broomstick, raised out of the hole. "Why hello there." it said in a strange varient of the normal turret voice. It was... happier... raspier... sexier.

It had been so long for Chell. Here she was, with this thin and long... apparetus.

The computer voice continued "I'm flooding the room with nerve gas. No wait, it's not nerve gas. It's pheromones. They're right next to each other, easy to get confused."

Chell was quickly overcome with all sorts of emotions. Flustered and she could barely control herself.

"Come on! Come on! You know you want to!"

She did want to. That was true. Damn that computer. She's forcing me into this. But it would feel so good. She starts imagining it. What she can start doing with that turret. Her hands slowly make their way down. She starts unfastening the bottom half of her jumpsuit. She grabs the small turret with her other hand.

"Oh yeah! This is going to be as good for you as it will for me?"

She isn't even listening to it anymore. How could she? Overcome by all these emotions. She sweats and starts breathing heavily as she slowly moves the machine downwards.

"Oh is that what it looks like... Never seen one of those before... Oh god."

That was the first test chamber Chell actually liked.

Sleeping Dogs has a lot of upcoming DLC packs (registry), but one that looks interesting is a free one called the HiRes DLC.

I hope this means we're getting high resolution textures.

Dragon age wasn't perfect. It needed a bit more work on balance, stories and characters. After Baldurs Gate 2 and the like, it was clearly a step down.

However it was still a fuck-tonne better than anything we have seen since, which have been massive steps back for the genre. So all up I have to say I still love the game.

Also like you said, the PC version plus mods made it so much better.

Good luck :) especially the driving sequences lol, I recommend checking out some YT video's to get some hints on where you can leave the gnome so you don't have to carry it all the way for one level.

Alright, Darksiders 1 pc version, I'm out.

I'm getting horrendous performance, can't figure out a way to make it better. Not even cutting the res.

I'm talking like 20 fps outside with dips, with like 30-35 inside, with dips. I swear, when I build a pc (hopefully sooner than later) I'm going Nvidia.

I have to admit, I was frantically trying to figure out how I could of messed up my question that badly and started eyeballing back and forth between the quotes.

I already long had the achievement, but I needed any excuse to finish another playthrough and made a picture diary along the way. It felt good to play a Half-Life again. Anyhoo Steam's being dumb and not letting me upload the screenshots so here's an imgur album.

Planning on playing Deus Ex after I'm completely done with Bastion... does anyone know a good "build"? Can I play 100% stealth + hacking?
