They must have patched up Trials quite a bit for the demo. I locked it at 60 at 1080p with a 7850. I think I'll pick it up at some point down the road.

Not even Derrick has the right to sh!t on this game for 5. It's at the least beautiful and very playable. NOt the best Hitman but worth a playthrough.

They've improved it. I haven't run FRAPS on my game, so I'm not sure how far over 60fps I'm getting. My main gripe is that it's not silky smooth. Perhaps it's just because I'm used to 2D being at 120hz, but there are micro hitches that get under my skin. Regardless of what my framerate actually is, I feel there's some frame latency happening in it. Which is disappointing considering it's not exactly a demanding game.

Decided to give MW2 PC multiplayer a go, since it's the Call of Duty I enjoyed playing most on the 360.
Oops? It's broken as all fuck. At one point during a match some dude says "injoy
" and next thing I know I'm level 70 with everything unlocked.
Oh well, bought the PC version for the singleplayer anyway.

I had two or three slowdowns with a 2500K/660. Apart from that it ran smooth unless advanced lighting was activated.
If you're asking about the main game (Afterfall Insanity), well...
For severl hours from the beginning, it's a janky/cheesy game with clunky controls but very atmospheric. It seems at least promising, shifting from mindf**k, horror and MadMax.
Then you get to the first boss battle. A pain. Cheap, difficult to read (ie are you damaging it?) and the boss is a real bullets sponge. This is the first gamebreaking part I've met. If you are so intrigued you HAVE to see more, after several tries (and a pair of YouTube checks just to understand if you're doing it right or what), you should manage to go on.
But.
You'll reach the "spirits" zone. Random fast deadly moving spirits that appear when you expose yourself to
sunlight
Please note: a couple of updates has been done from the last time I've played it. MAYBE the developers fixed something about these terrible boss battles, but I'm not going to check it, sorry :/
Another note: if devs haven't changed something, it's not possible to downscale and it's very gfx limited in the options.
TLDR: a wasted opportunity. Good atmosphere, cheesy/bad voices/dialogues (bad in a way it's almost good), clunky controls, terrible boss battles.

Yeah, I know I came to MW2 a long while after release, but the multiplayer and multiplayer community in that game is a definitely one of the layers of hell.

I know that feel. I keep buying old games because of nostalgia but most aged so poorly I have no desire to play them. Max Payne actually wasnt too bad but the GTA games are really rough

I've been a console gamer for a very very long time with some sprinkles of PC gaming over the years. The last year I've been moving towards PC gaming due to the prices of the games and it has taught me to wait a few months after release to get games dirt cheap.

I've been strolling around after every boss/cutscene and doing the quests I find since they became available, but I'll go look for the ones that I may have missed and I guess grind for a bit. I thought this wasn't advisable in this game because of the level scaling scheme. It was breezy until this fight, I think my biggest problem is that my unions are kind of lame right now with not good enough restore abilities, so I'll go back and try to focus on getting better arts while hunting for materials. Monsters do get stronger with scaling, but they're all capped at a certain point so this isn't too big of a deal.!! even tougher.
Make sure all your unions have one revive and one restore on different people. When you go to the recruitment place, check if you've done any mini-quests to get those rewards. Also make sure you've discovered all the towns you can at this point. Basically, check a faq and make sure you've done all you can up to this point. There are a lot of side quests that are easy to miss because they don't open up until certain conditions are met.
It should be on sale on Amazon soonish. Tony is talking about a Rockstar sale that's coming up.
Ah cool, I didn't know about the level caps. At the moment only my Rush has revive and yeah, this is turning out to be far from ideal for this part with GoH attacking one hundred times and enthralling. Thankfully I don't mind playing around on the sides for a while since I've been meaning to mess more with crafting and such. Thanks for the tips, I'll look into things I may have missed and try to complete what I can before I get back to the main path.

I was referring to the US price in particular. But even assuming half off the UK price (which is all but guaranteed), £7.50 at present only works out to a saving of about half a buck when compared to GamersGate's current price minus 20%, so it's hardly worth waiting for that if you can find a GAFer willing to help.
New Vegas with all DLC is $9.95 on GG. I've put in 160 hours so far and haven't finished my first playthrough. (There's a lot to see and do in the game.) Probably the best investment for dollars-to-entertainment value.
