Only the Poker Visor was a pre release item, everything else had to be earned in game by making other characters go bust.

If I were a mod I'd PM you with his account, just to see your face when you have to buy the games.
Of course, that would require your webcam to be on and streaming, but if I were a GAF mod I'd probably have the skills to turn it on remotely or something like that.

Are there any tips for optimizing GTA IV performance? Is this the wrong place to ask? My framerate dips into the low 40s and I'm not sure if there is much that I can do. I know it's notoriously demanding but I was hoping there were some tweaks people discovered by now.
Nope. The game is just horribly optimized and that's how it'll remain.

Yikes. I played a little more and was getting dips below 30. None of the settings make any kind of significant difference. What a disappointment.

IIRC, it runs worse with SLI enabled. I really hope GTAV fares better.

No, it'll be worse. You'll only be able to run it with half a videocard.
And will support neither Direct3D nor OpenGL, but Glide.

Trying to get my Voodoo 2 to behave properly under WinXP was a huge pain in the arse.
Ahhh, I love when developers do that. That was part of the reason I got the second or third STALKER game, because I liked the discount model, even though I never even finished the first one.
I bought the two pack of Cubemen 2, and changed my name on Steam, so if anyone has me on their friends list, take this extra copy off my hands!

13-year-old me would have suffered through any number of trials and tribulations just to play Quake 3, even at the lowest settings and a less-than-cinematic framerate. Fortunately, though, my parents coughed up the cash for an upgrade a few months later and I jumped forward to the modern era with a GeForce 2 Ti.
They updated the engine for the Max Payne 3 release to be more PC-friendly, and I believe that GTA V is running on a similar iteration of the engine.
To be honest, I'm not too interested in GTA V. The guys over at United Front Games created a masterpiece with Sleeping Dogs and I don't see myself going back to GTA after that.
Once you get to the bar area, the game really picks up.

Still looks better than Doom 3: BFG Edition.
Yeah, Max Payne 3 being superbly optimised gives me some hope for GTAV... and RDR's fashionably late PC port.

Kinda annoyed that I don't have a single game that someone on my friend list doesn't also have. There are a couple with only one other person (Rig n Roll, Speedball 2) but this one guy who has about 1400 games seems to have them all.

Looked through my library and found that Ben There, Done That has 21 contributions despite the fact that 17 friends of mine have played it. Wolfenstein only has 101 contributions, very few for a big-ish budget game.
I think it's Fez. You can't even buy it yet.
The recent stealth update to BioInf seems to have broken D3DO's ability to triple-buffer the game, and I can't use regular vsync because the input lag it introduces, though slight, is annoyingly noticeable.
