STEAM Announcements & Updates 2013 IV - Christmas in July is over, back to real life

I installed 4 GB of RAM on my PC and now everytime I turn on my PS3 controller it thinks it's the first controller (when It's actually the third). I'm using XInput Wrapper.

I have no idea what happened.

Thanks to Enhanced Steam I finally know how much money i dumped into games on Steam. A bit too much :p

Ahh well. Got me starting playing Anno 2070. Steam opening Uplay and Uplay opening Anno 2070... Able to get a double layout from both distribution platforms... So far a better experience then GFWL though.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

The truth can hurt sometimes, but it can be easier to think about it as money spent per month (or per game). I know people that have spent $8,000+ on Steam, but they've been buying games for 9 years. :D

I'm sorry to be vugar...

WHY THE FUCK IS ALIEN HOMINID NOT ON STEAM??????

I looked it up and The Behemoth just released a title on XBLA called Battleblock Theater.

Their publisher is Microsoft Game Studios, so we will probably see the game in about 6 months or so.

I don't care about Battleblock I care about AH. I mean Castle Crashers is already out and AH came out a zillion years before it....

I think it was a Newgrounds game at some point... Just port it to Steam, guys!!!!

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
Tch, I just realized a flaw with the Air skin; no Steam wallet total.

I saw Faerie Solitaire on PixyJunket's profile, got interested and wishlisted it. Sometime later he gifts it to me. Thanks man, you're rad!
Oh, you're very welcome.

I enjoy passing that game around, I hope you like it.

And yes, I know this is a late reply, I had a tab open for it but this is the first time I've been at my PC since early Sunday.

No steam wallet total, no download progress bar and a horrible default notification icon setup (defaults to darker gray instead of green? What the fuck) the last of which can be edited easily. Apparently the overlay web browser is also missing buttons completely, to which the skin creator has said he won't be adding them back in.

Click on the Steam icon in the upper left hand corner, then my account.

Seems silly to add more steps to what was once just a simple "glance at the corner".

Download progress bar is at the bottom, I saw it when I was downloading Castlevania.

Its a minimalist skin, the information and clutter that isn't necessary is hidden in order to have better aesthetics.
Wallet amount is a good example, I don't need to know that data every time I look at my library.

If its not for you, its not for you. I always prefer minimalist set ups.

Didn't see it show up while I was downloading a few games for card idling, guess the downloads finished that fast and the bar disappears upon completion. EDIT: Ok it shows up, but it's a completely gray bar on top of a completely gray interface and it's so tiny that I didn't even notice it until I saw it make a huge jump across the screen. I hope I can edit the color of that.

I do love me minimalist setups as well, I used to have my entire computer decked out to remove things or skin things to clean up the aesthetics but imo there's a fine difference between a good minimalist design and yanking a bunch of stuff or making stupid changes in an effort to be minimalist. Removing buttons from the web browser (only going off what I read, I have yet to actually use it in game yet) and making the notification drawer obtuse by default are just flat out dumb changes.

Agreed. Metro's download setup is a much better integration of minimalism and function in that it actually serves as a shortcut while not stretching the bar throughout the entirety of the window. Lack of wallet funds is a bummer when you're burning through a billion card sales and steam itself doesn't provide alerts when something sells. I also prefer both toolbars right next to each other up top so my eyes don't have to glance top and bottom of a window to get information, especially when it's full screen. Air has some weird icon padding to work out, and given that it cuts out so much of it, it not nailing that lone mail icon is a killer.

Steam has changed their default category name from "Games" to "My Games". I'm sorry if this groundbreaking advancement of Steam technology has already been covered by someone in this thread.

Why even do that?

It's the first step to the (rumored) sharing of games, where you will have a "my games" and a "their games" category. Believe.

Think of the litany of features on the cutting room floor that were scarified to implement that. Next thing they'll rename Library to Collection and sacrifice BPM's multimedia functions.

Is there a quick way to see which of my Steam games also come with Mac versions? I'll be getting a Macbook soon, want to know what I'll be able to play.

Anyone know what's going on with the trading cards? Like, I have a booster pack for System Shock 2, but I don't have System Shock 2 listed in my Badges list anymore either. In fact, a ton of games that had cards during the summer sale are just gone from that list.

If you don't play the game for a certain time, haven't crafted a badge for it and have no card drops left it will disappear from the list. How long it takes, I'm not sure. It used to be a only a few days but now it seems to be maybe as much as 10 days to 2 weeks.

Cannon Brawl looks like a great idea with RTS meets Worms gameplay or something. I like the price as well so I went ahead and got the two-pack. :D I'll try to remember to post impressions if I get around to playing it.

Just finished The Walking Dead.

Goddamn fantastic.

Grabbing 400 Days later and I'll be there for the next season.

Thanks again man, I got addicted to it haha. Playing it during downtime a work and even dropped one dollar on the iOS version to have it on my phone.

how's Risen 2? I liked Risen 1 and I like WRPGs, the more jank, the better! (okay not really but still) thinking of picking up the Humble Bundle.

(apologies if this has been asked ad nauseum already)

That's it. The Castlevania demo left me wanting more, much more.

And I still need to clean my PC. Having the game drop to 2 FPS at times is rather unacceptable.

Walking QTE: 400 Days kinda made me sick of like in your face morally gray choices. I stop giving a shit after a while because I know you get fucked either way and every way in the series when it comes to deciding anything.

IF the whole game of Lords of Shadow perfoms like the demo, it's a great achievement. Regrettably, 27 is too much, i'll wait.

Did you feel the same about the main game episodes or just the DLC?
