Being from the same dev does not make it the same quality.

i'd buy the Sonic episodes if they put both of them on a $5 bundle or something. Boggles my mind why they havent done that yet

What's so bad about it?
The fact that nothing is good about it.

The empire building game is, as IGN actually accurately described for once, like playing monopoly with yourself. The strategy combat side takes no strategy and was riddled with problems. They recently patched it to fix a lot of cover and roll bugs, but what is left is still completely devoid of real strategy.

Every time you reach a goal, the game teleports you to a new neighborhood where you again don't have money and nobody knows you, so it's like restarting the game over and over, each time saving up a bit more money before you reach your goal. The way you complete tasks involves your guys running on foot to each building and taking some time there, so cutting deals involved no story and you spend a ton of time just waiting for them to finish running around while you, the player, do absolutely nothing.

It seems full of promise at first, but it just keeps hammering at you with tedium, mediocrity, and nothing the least bit interesting. It is boring, boring, boring.

E2 is mediocre. E1 made me angry.
I was offended that I was tricked into playing it as a game in general, let alone something that is supposed to be Sonic.

For $10 you might find some fun in it. I played it when it first came out. 17 hours playtime and I had a decent time with it. Tropico lite-lite and wonky combat? Yes but still playable. Not the horrible game it's made out to be and it never was suppose to be X-Com.

Also, there was an update that included rival gangs vying for property, fixed combat cover and cars so your gangsters wouldn't have to walk everywhere and other improvements but I never replayed it after I finished it so I wouldn't know how much the update improves on the game.

A rocky start but I see huge potential if there's an Omerta 2.

Damn, how disappointing.

Episode I is mediocrity in its purest form. Episode II is better, though.
To me, "mediocrity" suggests a lack of effort. When you go out of your way to ruin well-established physics mechanics and art direction, that's something else entirely.

Episode 2 is less bad -- on the surface, it looks and feels more like a proper Sonic game. But I didn't care for the over reliance on gimmicky gameplay involving Miles.

Bleed is a pretty fun game.
Yeah, it is.

I was initially frustrated by it since I started on Hard Mode, but I eventually grew into learning the game's tricks (and even got a few S-Rank achievements on Hard during my first run).

All I can think of while playing it is "this is kind of a 2D Vanquish."

I got an S-rank on the
dragon heart
boss but that's it so far. Beat the game on Normal at least!

I think I was close with that on my first run, but he has one attack in Hard that is just nuts.

By the way, I found the best way to increase rank is to keep alternating your weapons.

Guys what have I missed today?

Sonic Collection was mispriced at $7.50 for like an hour. General Winters from Company of Heroes 2 is the new character in Sonic Racing. Killing Floor Pier Event started. Final Fantasy VII is now on Steam. Naruto Ninja Storm 3 is coming to Steam in the fall with some new stuff. Steam Summer Sale starts on the 11th.

And Ducktales Remastered still doesn't have an official Release Date.

So playing Sonic 4 just about ruined my childhood.
In my case, Episode 1 brought it back.

Literally. Every level is a remake of one from Sonic 1 or 2. That would have been fine in Generations (which was the point of the game), but not in a game that's supposed to be the successor of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. If I want to play Green Hill Zone, I'll launch Sonic 1. If I want to play Casino Nights or Metropolis Zone, I'll run Sonic 2. If I want to play Labyrinth Zone, I'll shoot a bullet in my skull because that means I can't tell right from wrong anymore.

I felt the reverse. Episode 1 is mediocre but passable. Episode 2, looks better but everything is just done so badly. The movement with tails is jerky and awkward, the rollerball 69 move is practically auto play. The god damn oil desert boss, combined with the annoying as hell Robotnik theme and the unbelievably long boss intros. Episode 2 was far, far more frustrating.

Also they completely missed a trick with Episode Metal. It could have been several shades greater than it was.

What's so bad about it?
I think it's about expectations and preferences. It's kind of a weird package. You shouldn't play it for the same reasons you play Xcom, but you should play it for the same reasons you play games like Luxor or Bejeweled.

It's very casual in it's nature and the core gameplay and structure is similar to the kind of management games you find on App Store.

I don't think it's necessary a bad game, it's just that you might want and expect something completely different than what you get.

Anyway just my two cents. If you enjoy casual time wasters you probably will enjoy it, but if you looking for a more robust and profound experience you probably will be disappointed.

I still remembe whenr sonic 4 was launched, While everyone was claiming that the game was godlike for being 2D and exactly like the original,I told everyone that the game sucked for not being anything like the OG. Everybody insulted me saying that I was a hater/3d lover who didn't know anything about anything

Time gave me the reason though

So Killing Floor for 4.99? Is that a game people would trade for? How often does it go sale?
Not sure about your whole buying games to eventually trade mentality. How about buying games because you want to play them? You are a "College student/psychology major" and should be able to get a bank/paypal account by now. You can also buy Steam cards in $20, $50, and $100 amounts from GameStop, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, 7-11, and CVS Pharmacy if you are unwilling to use a CC or Paypal.

I just played They Bleed Pixels for the cards. While waiting for them to drop I managed to beat chapter 3. Holy hell is that game hard. Now I've only got 3 levels left if the achievements are anything to go by.

I've been stuck at part of 4-1 for a while. It's a hellish section.

Sorry this is off topic, but who do you message to request a account name change? I saw something about it once, but can't seem to remember. Just want to try and get it to match up with most of my other online aliases.

No one except you can see your account name, so you could just think of it as a second password. If you do want to change it, I guess you could contact Steam support and see if they'll help you, but I think their general policy is to not allow account name changes.

I have a question.

A couple of friends activated Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed via the free weekend thingie, and now that I've bought the 4 pack I can't send it to them because it shows that they already own it!

Is there a workaround?

CheesecakeRecipe

Stormy Grey
You have to wait til the free weekend is over, then toss everyone the copies.

Steam can't differentiate between owning the game for 3 days, and owning the game forever.
