So much generosity tonight, love it.

2010 was well before I got "the bug" :( I bought less than a dozen games throughout the whole year.

I was playing world of warcraft that year and not involved with Steam at all pretty much.

Checking my transaction page, I actually didn't buy anything in 2010.

Huh, never heard of this genre before. Sounds like a very love it or hate it type of gameplay

---
Oh, and holy shit. Had no idea there were other STALKER games. So I check on Game Debate. I can't run Shadow of Chernobyl, but the site's saying I could run Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat at low to medium settings.

Are these good compared to Chernobyl? I always wanted to play a STALKER game

My specs: Windows 7, Pentium Dual Core B970 2.3 GHz, 4GB of Ram, Intel HD Graphics 2000.

You have to start at SoC though.

Its the best game in the series, and sets up the story perfectly. Clear Sky isn't worth playing at all, COP wouldn't make any sense without playing SoC.

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but it changed again. I'm thinking a treasure map is pretty likely.

One thing I'd like for Valve to do is prioritise the "Duplicate code" error message over "Product already owned" when redeeming a key. This would make it exponentially easier to check if one has been used.

Yet but I can't run it and I've been dying to play a STALKER game for years. It was what got me interested in Fallout 3 in the first place. But why would I be able to run CoP and CS but not SoC?

I haven't played the STALKER games, but I gather that some games just aren't well optimized—whether in general or for newer hardware. I believe this can lead to some older titles playing worse than new ones, even though the older titles might appear less demanding on the surface.

I never knew that. Weird, you'd think it would work the opposite way. Guess that explains why I can't run Thief Deadly Shadows from 2004

So I asked on other forums and Call of Pripyat is unanimously chosen as the better of the two. How do they differ? Why is CoP better?

How about when I got Bad Rats in my Inventory, can I use ModBot for friend giftings?
Here's an idea for using ModBot for inventory gifts. Make up a secret key code in your gift PM to the not, and put your steam profile link in your gift announcement post. The winner just has to add you on Steam and tell you the key to verify he is the winner and you can then trade the gift to him. Ideally the bot just needs an option to describe that the gift is in the form of an inventory trade and not a code.

it all makes perfect sense now, the map leads to the place where they have hidden half life 2 episode 3 this whole time!

Any theory's how the mystery cards will be used?

I remember reading that they have 10 unique mystery cards as of now?

The mystery cards might be related to summer sale. Like the coal in The Great Gift Pile event. Mystery card IDs were changed yesterday.

Here's the list:
170672212
170672204
170672206
170672211
170672207
170672203
170672205
170672213
170672209
170672214

Edited for numerical order.

If Jasec and Xelios sold their accounts, I am sure they could fund a plane for the entirety of steamGAF.

I've always wanted to build a life-size plane using Lego!

They just kept improving on the engine as the games progressed.

I'm surprised people chose CoP as the best iteration. I enjoyed SoC more.

I don't know if I quite understand the rules.

Is this like the 'give key' - 'receive key' thread? That is, does one have to give a key to modbot before he is eligible to receive one?

Or is it a race for the pickings?

Fuck it, I'm out. They are probably going to make you craft a summer sale badge and reward you with a 33% off Serious Sam 3 coupon*

EP2 is currently 75% off, but my bank account is empty. I found a spare key for Fairy Bloom Freesia, though, so If anyone want to trade, PM me.

Alright, wanted to give the ModBot a try so sent a message a few hours ago but never received anything back, so I decided to try it again and this time I did receive a PM from ModBot but most keys in the message (except for top two) got marked as error for already being registered with ModBot. Good news though is that, along with the error, it listed their secure key so with a little bit of editing hopefully this will work.

ModBot said:

There is a give one/take one thread. ModBot is fundamentally just a system that allows users to give away keys without worrying about lurkers pinching them or a bunch of "I'd like [game], thanks!" posts flooding the thread; it's perfectly possible for folks to give away keys via ModBot with no restrictions attached.

The giveaways are going to be insane during the summer sale.

There has already been massive amounts of generosity. Imagine when the entirety of GAF gets into it.

I'm so excited for the sale on Thursday even though I'm not really looking forward to anything specific to buy. I haven't had enough time to play games lately =(

Thanks! I snagged Dawn of War. I've had DoW2 for a while but didn't want to start it until I got through the first.

If you're all membersof hookups, you may have seen this, but it was new to me, and it's a pretty darn good price on Generations alone:

Sonic Collection on Amazon 9.99:
- Sonic Generations + Casino DLC
- Sonic Allstars Racing (The first one)
- Sonic 4: Both Episodes
- Sonic Adventure DX
- All the Genesis games + CD

All Steam Redeemable
