I bought Vikings Battle for Asgard, because why not. It's £2.50. Any tips or suggestions? Should I play it?

I thought it was tedious garbage. I felt mislead by people who said it was a decent game worth checking out. I'm pretty sure the design documents were a crude list on a spreadsheet.

It's capped at 30 fps too.

Got some codes here

Gettysburg

Don't forget to say thank you if you grab one.

Someone grabbed it it's gone.

I just played Planetside 2 with my high friend, that was pretty funny to watch.

I stopped buying games after getting into Arma 3, I'm not even interested in Infinite at all, and I feel fine.

So I guess I should avoid it and spend my time elsewhere. Can't wait for Bioshock Infinite now, might just bide my time till then.

"it is in giving that we receive"
It's late but I'm still up and willing to gift something out after yesterday's disappointing Shatter giveaway. Anyone want Magical Drop V? Maybe Super House of Dead Ninjas too? Shoot me a PM.

Edit - all done for now.

How often does Steam go through significant updates? I'm sure everybody has their own laundry list of improvements they'd like to see but as revered as the service is and with the minds at the helm a few nuisances are a little surprising.

For instance, when I purchase or receive a game that's on my wishlist why isn't it removed? If I purchase a game and receive a steam code for it why can't I redeem it as a gift instead of needing to pass on the code itself? /whine

No predownload of Bioshock for me then, out of SSD space. Why can't you select the temp folder instead of forcing the Steam hard drive...

Taking a buddy through his first run of RE5 and my first run on the PC and I find out none of the DLC is available for the PC version? C'mon Capcom get with the fuckin program here.

I really dont know how I feel about antichamber

I like some of it. I like the a-ha moment of figuring out the puzzles, but man, it falls apart in other areas.

I enjoy how they explain nothing to you in any moment, but at the same time the game expects you to do certain things that are so far fetched that I couldnt believe I figured it out

sometimes I even brute-forced my way through some of the puzzles because the game allowed me to and I couldnt tell if that's what I was supposed to do or not

I ended up in areas that apparently I wasnt ready to visit yet, but I never knew that because the game never gave any hint of it being linear, or having to follow a certain path for upgrades and whatnot, but suddenly it is.

so yeah, bashed my head against the wall until I realized there's a "path" and im kinda on it now. Except that many times you try to solve some puzzles for hours only to find out that this particular room wasnt actually to progres the game, but it was a "secret room" with concept art and some other making-of stuff.

not only that: but I easily spent like 2 hours trying to get into a room, convinced that it was the correct way to advance, only to find myself trapped in a room (mind you, this is after solving something like 6 puzzles to get there, hard ones)

I gave up and did a google search: turns out that room is just nothing. Someone linked to a tweet by the dev saying he's planning to "put something there"

it just doesnt do that great of a job of making you feel like you accomplished something. Certainly not to the extent of something like Portal. Feeling like you're making proper progress only to find out that you discovered fucking concept art is.. uh yeah

not to mention that there's no way of backing up from that room, you gotta press ESC and get to the antechamber and select wich room you wanna go to; without any indication of what's the one you should go now. You just hop in on each and hope for the best.

Im still liking it enough, but it's just weird. It's too much. I hate hand-holding but this game has some flaws on what's attempting to do by not showing you anything. If you want me to find my way through the game dont let me brute-force through puzzles and "break" the game, mistakenly make me feel as if im on the right path for hours.

It's also not a OMG HARD game really, it's just kind of exhausting

so yeah, fuck this game, but also dont; because it's good

if that makes any sense.

I already got all the "upgrades" and it seems like im near the end at 7 hours, but I have no idea where im supposed to go and my brain is completely toasted for today

not really because you're already limited by $. you could just try shit up full speed non stop but what's so bad about that?

you recieve money instantly after something get's burnt

you could pause the game by going to the market, buy more stuff with that money, burn, get money, buy more stuff = infinite combo

think you doofus

Yep. No Lost in Nightmare or Desperate Escape. Capcom will have to release the DLC or Gold Edition, but it's already been 4 years with neither in sight.

I don't know how making you wait for 2 minutes for an item to arrive is any better than allowing you to exploit the system. they clearly knew people didn't want to wait for stuff, that's why they made the tickets thingie, so why not even trim the times a bit. when the average is 40 seconds or more, then you lost my attention.

this is a game about experimenting, but look at all the elements you have to manage just to get stuff: waiting time, time skip tickets, money and inventory space. I wish the game allowed me to have my fun figuring out combos, and then be able to just burn shit up without thinking too much about it.

otherwise the game's pretty great, love the music in particular.

you gotta buy a bunch of stuff and use those tickets mang

buying stuff and just idling waiting for it is doing it wrong

it's just an odd game

Without having to wait, one could just buy stuff and burn them all together and repeat. The point of the game is to think of the meaning of the combos, just like with a crossword. Without timers, the only way I can think of to avoid the "buy blindly and burn and repeat" loop would be to give less money when the player burns things which are not part of a combo, but in the end, some players might just get stuck with no money.

you don't get tickets unless you don't combo (or at least they don't come as often), so it's just not worth it to burn stuff for burning's sake.

maybe there's a point there, I dunno, but it feels like there's never enough tickets, specially if you use them in the heavier stuff (6+ etc)

really how boring would that be? just burn the same stuff over and over again. or burn a billion random stuff to farm coins. who would do that? why do they care? who actually buys little inferno to play with exploits? this is a weird ass indie game, I play it because I like playing it, I just don't like the non-playing part they put in the middle to enforce their no-exploiting policy or whatever.

it's like DRM and pirates, I'm not gonna exploit the game, I just want to play it, but you're restricting me in case I do. make it so it takes 5 seconds instead of one minute, problem solved, you have some padding so that people don't exploit it way too much, and you don't even have to program the tickets thingie (though I like when the tickets jump all over).

LET ME BURN STUFF PLAESE

You only really need to install games that have load times, mostly MMOs benefit from SSDs (in my experience at least).

And games that force themselves onto your C drive, like Company of heroes. And seemingly all origin games :/

Can't remember if Bioshock even gave me a choice of drive when I started preloading

So, any opinions on Trials Evolution on PC? How is the graphics compared to the 360 version, any annoying DRM etc.? Worth buying?

awful port terrible performance graphic issues ubi drm aids upplay no steam leaderboards wait for patch

Been finishing up Binary Domain which I thought was decent but nothing special. Unlike most games I thought it got better the easier the difficulty setting was. Going Rambo felt awesome.

Anyway, the online is dead but the couple of games of Invasion I managed to find were a lot of fun. Would anyone here be interested in making up a team? I'm sure if we go in with a plan we can make it to round 50.
