Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Not just other people. I don't like knowing it is there myself.

It is true, I have OCD. I don't normally admit to this on the internet though since mental disorders like OCD and Autism and so forth are highly stigmatized and embarrassing.

Moreover some things are just gross to own, though. This one I want removed isn't so much because it is a bad game, but because it really morally irks me. Though my reasons don't matter, really.

Whether I see it as illogical or not, the desire to see it gone isn't going to go away. So I do want and need it gone.

Sounds like they take a while. I'll just have to wait.

I just.... I gotta know what game it is man, all this buildup. I can't even think of a game to own on Steam that I would think of being embarrassing.

Well unless your are really picky why don't you just create a catagory called "Never to be spoke of again" and dump everything you don't want in there. I hardly doubt Valve are going to go to the trouble of removing games from your account unless there were any fraudulent or suspect implications. In some way or another it's going to cost them money. But hey pigs might fly so you never know.

Bad Rats.

Every single person on planet Earth owns Bad Rats whether they know it or not.

Hahahaha. Technically yes. I've had it sat in my inventory for a year and a half but fat chance I'm ever going to redeem it. Will send it to my eventual mortal enemy.

So does the fact that Defiance met the Tier 3 unlock requirements lend any credence to the "rigging" conspiracy theory?

It took 3 weeks to get to 25% on the first tier, and then 3 days to get to 100% on all tiers, and it's just now made it into the Top 3. Draw your own conclusions.

Well the essentially 'open' beta was last week (not really open but incredibly easy to get a key) and the preorders started going up afterwards. Hell there could be rigging for all we know but a lot of folk may just have enjoyed what they played. No complaints here though, I'll take all the extra inventory space I can get thanks! :p

But I guess that neither will be happening anytime soon

This was from an earlier discussion, I replied way late because I was playing XCOM for 5 hours straight.

Ya. I want the game, but they really don't deserve my money.

There is evidence they might be removing GFWL from Arkham Asylum, or, at the very least, adding Steamworks.

AA achievements popped up in the database.
Mortal Kombat is looking to be Steamworks.
GFWL is unofficially dead.

We can dream.

So does the fact that Defiance met the Tier 3 unlock requirements lend any credence to the "rigging" conspiracy theory?

Sigh it was the perfect game, it even fell off the top 50 best sellers at one point.

But the past week or so its been in the top 15, and now its in the top 5.

I don't know if it could give us the definitive data we wanted anymore.

I already have it. It still feels like those games, and in particular one game, is staring me straight in the face.

It isn't like you can hide a category. And sometimes categories seem to un-collapse on their own, anyway. Even if I try to get them out of sight by putting them in a category, they aren't, because even if I don't see the games, I see the category.

There ought to be a way to simply hide a game from one's library. But there isn't, which is why I want it removed. I won't miss it. I'll be glad to have it gone.

It sounds like there is something wrong with the system that once you buy a game, you're stuck with it forever.

If that's the case, I may just create a whole new account or abandon Steam altogether. I don't to put up with my DD library being a nasty place. My Steam library should be my happy place. A library full of good stuff I'm happy to open up.

Though that would mean buying the games I love all over again. And I don't think that would be worth it. It might be best to just abandon Steam altogether.

You don't hear how crazy this sounds? ABANDON your games because you don't want to see a title that consents of words looking at you?

Alright, this guy is definitely trolling us now!

On a related note, Mutant Blobs Attack is awesome, couldn't put that shit down and beat it in 3 hours.

Carl in the Vita thread turned me round to that game. Absolutely brilliant and like you I couldn't stop playing.

I am not trolling. I am pretty lethargic right now with the ratio of games on Steam that I dislike to games that I like. While games I actually want to play are stuck in the limbo of Steam Greenlight forever.
I just.... I gotta know what game it is man, all this buildup. I can't even think of a game to own on Steam that I would think of being embarrassing.
I, again, prefer to not say why and what game it is. I don't want my gaming taste being an issue.

I guess if you're so curious, though. I will say it is because it glorifies something I find morally disgusting.

I'm genuinely curious, not to mock you or anything but just what you find so repulsive/offensive that you'd abandon a Steam account because of it.

On a semi-related note, why the hell can I still not sort games by category in grid mode. I'm tired of having to scroll past all the stupid mac editions of Civ 4 and GTA. Sense, it makes none.

Wait, when did FO3 remeove GFWL? And it's completely gone?

It didn't, not on my GOTY edition but the window never, ever pops up for GFWL, the game doesn't mention it at all. It'll only appear if you click on the LIVE option in the menu. No saves are tied to it either from what I can see. You can essentially ignore it completely from what I can see but it hasn't been 'removed' completely. It thankfully seems to have fuck all to do with the game though unless you want xbox live achievements or something.

Or you just wouldn't buy it in the first place. Especially if it glorifies something you find morally disgusting.
I seem to have developed an unfortunate compulsive buying habit from Steam sales. I've bought several games I know nothing about.

Which is another reason it might be a good idea to quit Steam.

Idk, it would feel pretty damn good to erase some of the shit that is a stain on my account.

Self confessed achievement junkie, wants to get rid of games off account? There's something illogical about this captain :p. I've got Avatar: The Last Airbender on my 360 tag along with lots of kiddy friendly games. That shit ain't going nowhere. It's my mark of shame for try to boost my score on the cheap.

Maybe they don't have achievements?

I love kiddy friendly games.

I wish Steam had more of them. And less games which overly glorify violence to brutal degrees.

I'm playing through Mini Ninjas. I turned into a cute little Racoon and snuck by the samurai.

My roommates walked into me sitting in the dark starring at a Blue Heron fly up a hill.

The bears are adorable.

Animals.

I only care about achievements when I think the list is within the limit of my abilities.

Know what you mean. By the time I've realised this it's usually to late to do anything about it. That and devs putting online achievements in games that have communities deader than Elvis. I'm just plodding my way through Binary Domain right now but now know it's going to be damn near impossible to finish them all off.

I've developed a pretty solid sense for what I can manage. If I don't think I can 100% a game I will hardly pay attention to achievements apart from the occasional curious glances at what just popped up.

Anyways, most of the stuff I want to get rid of is weird stuff like Fallout 3 vanilla (irrelevant since GOTY is a separate listing), stuff from genres I discovered I strongly disliked, and a bunch of indie shit from bundles that I never should have activated.

That would be a rather rare issue, if it ever comes up at all. If I don't like the game, I don't play it.
I cannot imagine this being true.

Being stuck with a trashy game in your Steam library permanently would be like having a game in your home that you could never get rid of.

Now imagine if that was something really nasty like a scat porn. Imagine never being able to get rid of that. That's how some games feel to me.

Now I am curious, what game is so bad that it's causing quasi physical torture so I can gift it to people.

Don't fret it HolyBaikal, I can understand having things on your account that you find a blight. Personally I've come to disregard striving for perfectionism in these things because truly, aren't we as people so imperfect that it's only fitting?

Anyhoo Steam support is slow as shit but they'll get around to responding to you in one way or another.

In a completely unrelated note I highly recommend everyone picking up Secret of the Magic Crystal at their earliest convenience, it'll change your life. Don't know when it came out but I guarantee it'll make more of an impression on you than [current praised game in the zeitgeist]. Cheesemint skanks out there can be satiated in knowing they're all fully reasonable to acquire as well!

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Your request to have the game removed may be denied, but a few people here have had success with it in the past, so if you do get an undesired response, just keep submitting a ticket until it lands on the desk of somebody willing. It's also worth noting that game deactivation is key-based, so if the offender was activated as part of a bundle, removing it will also necessitate the removal of the other games the key activated.

Thanks. I'm glad I'm not alone here.

I'm looking forward to getting a response from Steam support.

I'm replaying Blood Money and yikes, it did not age well. Controls like crap, shooting is awful, and man I forgot how bad (and racist) the tutorial was. I'm still looking forward to replaying some of those awesome levels (suburbs, retirement home, mardi gras, wedding) though

Kinda glad I didnt get 47 and Hitman 2, can't even imagine how bad they are now

Meh just seems silly too me, but it's your account. I for one would not buy said scat porn to be in that problem. If I buy something I do some research before hand because I don't have a lot of cash to throw around all willy nilly. If it offends you so much, why did you buy it in the first place.

Yea that is kinda weird. I have plenty of bad games in my library.

It is a good game but god damn do people put it on a pedestal here.

Bad compulsive buying habits.

I've done several blind buys while I was one Steam. This was a mistake. There's also the fact I'm the type of person who tries to be more open minded than I really am and it backfires on me.

I certainly have no desire to delete my account. But with all the lethargy I'm at least attempted to abandon Steam for a few months. Maybe even years. Maybe even create a new account. Or start using other services like Good old Games. The only problem with that is that Steam has several titles that other digital distribution platforms do not.

Also, buying back games would be obnoxious and an extreme solution to a simple problem. I'd rather just stay logged into my current account and delete crappy games from my library. This shouldn't be a difficult thing to do.
