I really want to play this one, but I have to force myself through Warrior Within (seriously disliked it back then, and I never finished it as a result) and play Two Thrones before that. And with Sands of Time not being as good as I remembered (oh nostalgia, you bitch) I don't feel like doing it anytime soon.Remember with Prince of Persia 2008 that it's not a "you can't die and therefore it's too easy" game, it's a "go for perfect parkour runs and not mess up" almost like a rhythm game or doing great at a Batman Arkham combat (in terms of how it feels to get the actions done right, they don't share combat at all) moment where it all goes correctly and not a flaw was to be seen. Aye you aren't penalised greatly for messing up, but it's better looking and more satisfying when it get it done exactly right and can maintain a good sense of speed running from area to area.
Look around the world. It's a beautiful world, especially once all the colour comes through. Not just at the stage level, but the background, the small little touches of flowers in a recess of a cliff, the vistas through a haze, the sun shining, and so forth.
Also I highly suggest and recommend, using that talk button between the Prince and Elika often through the game. I found the title to be one of the best platonic relationships in videogames story and dialogue wise, and it's because of the chatter between the two as you go through the game. They start off as complete strangers and as time goes on grow closer and closer to each other where a pivotal scene of trust is made so much better by the player noticing they have actually shared each other's thoughts and opinions with each other.
Lastly, and I am in the minority in this, but I recommend playing right to when the credits end. To me it's a far more poignant story without the very last "moment" that tries to be a hook for a sequel, and no to the epilogue at all.
I've yet to try this game. I'm thinking of starting LA Noire tonight, and maybe when I'm done with it (or get bored, from what I've heard) I'll give it a chance.the void for 1 buck is a ridiculous good sale sale
it's an amazing game with barely any eastern european clunkiness but all of the insane unrestrained ingenuity we've come to expect from them. it's really evocative and very strange, i really like how it makes a mystery about how it's supposed to be played for you to unravel and it ties it all up so neatly with story and gameplay and design.
really a fantastic game
edit: here's a link to the easy/normal difficulty mods: http://forum.ice-pick.com/viewtopic.php?p=101816#p101816. i suggest people just start the game straight on with the normal difficulty mod. the game is still pretty challenging, just a lot more forgiving in a good way
Combat, it's horrible. I didn't recall being so frustrated and annoyed by it when I first played it, but I definitely felt that during my replay last year. The platforming is still fantastic, and the story is nice, although the English voices are impossible to hear due to the volume being extremely badly leveled, and there's no subtitles (that wasn't the case when I played it in Spanish back then). It's still a good game, but not much more than that, sadly. Personally I'd rather not have replayed it.So I vaguely remember some people saying Sands of Time actually sucks, but I forget the reasons. Anyone here know?
As someone who just completed Deus Ex: The Fall in 4 hours, please don't buy it.
The user reviews on Steam talk about tons of bugs, is that the reason or is it just rubbish?

There's a donkey named Farah? lol2008 is not in any way connected to Sands of Time trilogy... well, the donkey is named the same as the Princess in those games, other than that, it's completely separated. You're good to go (and the game is quite good, double dipped during the sale since the version I bought originally has stupid Polish voice-overs, which kill the immersion).
Also, Warrior Within was an amazing metroidvania long before metroidvanias were popular.

Seeing the sales I remembered that I got a PoP: The Forgotten Sands key when I bought my graphic card, so I'm installing it now. I... I just installed uPlay.
I feel dirty.
Using installer or deleting some files but exe and apps does not fix my steam.
As of now I can't access my games what-so-ever...lol
RAGE
You sure you didn't install Norton or some shit?
Is it that boring and repetitive? Or are you implying my attention span is awfully short? Because if it's the latter, you are right. Anyway, there's no point in posponing the inevitable any further. Guess it's time to start the game now.well you'll prolly be done with it by tomorrow

i dunno why it isn't on steam, but pathologic isn't either and they're both in gamersgate so it makes me think there's some weird cis thing with steam that maybe gg doesn't care about?
i dunno
in any case a fun trivia about the precursors is that they didn't have money to do a full english dubbing so the only things that has voices are a few selected cutscenes and it was all done by (of all people), the dvd printer that made all the copies for the game, with hilarious results
edit: these guys also made the very hilarious boiling point: road to hell, which is basically the prequel to xenus 2, which had some of the funniest patchnotes of all times. like grenades exploding before being thrown, flying cougars, people falling off the floor on multiple-storied buildings and moer.
it's a unique game that really demands you make the effort to understand it, that it's 'thing'. it doesn't really care about you and if you don't get it and you lose then the game will just shrug.
but if you get it and start making progress and get involved in its story (which is really really really well tied into its mechanics) you start feeling so in control that the game becomes super rewarding. like you now have the keys to the game and can push it in whichever direction you want. it's not all quite like that but you still have a pretty big amount of freedom as to how you do stuff since the game while pretty linear it's also really open in your relationships with the characters, who (whom?) do you kill, who (whom?) do you embrace and whatnot
I think they are expensive in terms of an average salary, but not much when compared with other investments. Apparently the mother of one of the guys (the one who's not a friend of mine) provided most of the cash, like over 80% of it (number pulled out of my ass, from what I remember my friend telling me less than 2 months ago).I remember a few friends having a similar idea, the costs were out of this world.
Hmm, Expedition: Conquistadors is tempting right now... Should I dive in and grab it?
e-book bundle?
I totally blame Panda, what a jinx lol
edited: it was Panda who posted that it'll be e-book bundle, wasn't it?
