This is something that makes me happy just to read it, I'll keep being optimistic even if I'm the last one. If all else fails I just hope I can have fun with game. I can only hope the game to be satisfying regarding the visuals and I hope my humble-pc can handle it on the "optimal" settings.

Side note, I honestly hope PC players can enjoy Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain later on because the visuals are simply incredible (rain, so much nice and beautiful rain!).

From what I've seen the visuals are quite disappointing, though I attribute that to it being a cross gen title. I'm fully expecting Phantom Pain to blow my socks off, as long as it's PS4/Bone/PC exclusive.

I can understand and respect that but to me they are nice enough. I've seen it live since I started playing today. The lights reflection and the rain on the road is really pretty. The sound is also very immersive, even better if you are playing with headphones, I believe. But all this just makes me more hyped for Phantom Pain and if it's PS4, XB1 and PC (I hope so!) then, even better.

Yeah, I was at Baixa-Chiado as well and they didn't have it there, hopefully this is just a first market test and something that they'll expand to the rest of the stores.

They asked MS rep about Win7, he did not explicitly answer - my take is that MS doesn't want to acknowledge that Win7 is the new XP and people just. won't. downgrade from it.

And no, I don't think any dev will actively go out and support a coding path that would be available to less then 10% of potential customers. Exactly like they didn't support DX10. Or DX11.1. Or DX 11.2. Adding a new number will not change the fact that Win8+8.1 combined have been gradually losing market presence in last few months.

8 is good, they improved a lot of things from 7, I don't get a lot of the complains it gets (besides the Metro schizophrenia, which I do get).
Also, devs DID support DX10/11, and AFAIK W8 is not losing market even if it's being reeeeally slow on the uptake.

My take on the Dark Souls situation is that at this point, Scamco obviously knows about the backlash regarding the downgrade. If they have any sense at all, they will put out a trailer to show the PC version off in it's full glory. If they remain silent all the way till release, I'll bet that all versions are the same.

If I genuinely liked Bioshock Infinite more then maybe I might think 20$ is worth while for a piece of throwaway DLC (that I will never play, combat was not a highlight in Infinite), a short bit of story DLC and what will likely be another short bit of story DLC of currently unknown quality. But I don't.

Take 2 is denying itself more money in the pursuit of just that. I would buy it 5$, the people that would have bought it at 20$ have likely already done so but then they probably have some sales data to back up their shitty decision.

I understand but pubs seem to be using the 'sprat to catch a mackerel' approach nowadays :/. I'm not exactly a fan of DLC in general to be honest; I'm old fashioned like that. The only DLC I have is for games I adore and even then they were uber cheap in a sale and/or gifts. Still, pubs will keep doing this if enough gamers keep buying it at full price :/.

I think the less people feel attached to exclusive games, the more we could open up to more meaningful discussion, like being able to compare more games of the same genre, lately I noticed such a thing isn't possible on gaf due to how sensitive people are, we could probably compare max payne 3 to vanquish, but uncharted to gears of war would likely end in a disaster, it's a bummer.

Hell Yeah! is fun. It has Saint Rows' quirkiness but in 2d. It's fairly easy playing on normal & I'm 2 hours in with it being around 6-8 hours. Definitely a pick up and play sort of game. I remember I enjoyed the demo but forgot to pick it up on sale so I'm thankful for the Sega Humble Bundle. Now on to Binary Domain, I also played the demo long ago but it didn't click with me so I'll see.

I wish Alpha Protocol had a story/action/rpg mode like Mass Effect 3 or Alpha Protocol in Telltale's style.

JaseC, followup from Blitz Games earlier; Xbox Live has a pretty steep sale on a bunch of DLC for Yoostar, which is this really shitty camera game where you can insert video of yourself into stuff, but I mention it because the game is made by Blitz. So I'm guessing that something in their publishing contracts had some key date around now and Blitz ceasing to exist means their stuff is being pulled. You might want to cross-reference to make sure they don't have anything else on Steam you're missing.

Yeah, I've done that already. The developer/publisher filters on Steam's search page include every name that's been tied to an app; all that comes up is the gameplay trailer for Droplitz.

I'll be doing comparatively little purchasing through Steam directly. I'd like to make an exception for the Rocksmith DLC since there's a ton of it but it's Aussie Taxed so I don't have much of a choice.

The latest screenshots uploaded to Steam show the same geometry cutbacks as in the console versions but with less flat lighting. It's safe to say that we're not getting the vertical slice version of the game.

Devs certainly did not widely support DX10 (which was Vista only, I remind you). Even Halo 2, which was published by MS, used DX9. Things changed around only after Win7 started being adapted.
Same deal with Win8/8.1 exclusive DX11.1 and DX11.2 - 11.1 is (according to Wikipedia) supported (mind you, optionally) by two games (Battlefield 4 and Star Trek Online), can't seem to find any data on DX11.2 usage.

Can't really say it's gaining 0.01% of the market share in three months time is something to be proud of (especially if the whole Windows family looses 0.5% compared to OSX in the same time).
