Yeah, they weren't the greatest games by any stretch, but they were definitely unique, in that they implemented the stealth aspect of Metal Gears to a Tactics-style gameplay that was fueled by card game elements. They would survive the transfer to M+KB beautifully, probably feeling native. They'd also go well on iOS, but that's for another thread...

2 was better, by the way. It was more fleshed out and the animation style was totally appropriate.

There is a good chance you are aware, but check out Invisible Inc. (originally called Incognita). Its the new game from Klei that mixes stealth with Xcom-styled tactics.

The original name is far better.

Which is actually a pretty good business decision on Nyu's part - if people find the first two games to their liking, they're much more likely to buy the third one as well.

How about supported resolutions? I've tried one of the ALLTYNEX games ages ago (might've been a demo version) and AFAIR it only supported very low resolution (640x480 or worse, 320x240). Has anything been done with this for Steam release?

Actually, yeah, if I recall correctly, Jirurun went and upped the original resolution of Kamui from 240p to 800x600. For a 2D game of this kind, this is kind of insane. He added TATE mode and a widescreen option that fills the vertical part of the screen. I tried the game on a TATE'd 17" 4:3 screen and it was glorious. The game definitely plays like an arcade release that way.

RefleX original resolution is 640x480 (as most doujin games from those years) but you can crank it up to 960p. I tried the game in laptops and my 1080p TV/Monitor and it does look crisp and clean, the bump in resolution helps a lot.

Alltynex Second, being 3D and the most recent release, has a broader set of resolutions, including widescreen ones, however, since Jirurun is still tinkering with the game, we're waiting to see what he comes up with. It's really cool to see the transition from 2D to 3D still kept the spirit of the circle though.

If anyone want those 30% OFF Explodemon coupons, you can have them, just contact me on steam.
I assume everyone got way too many of them, but you never know.

I'll remind everyone that the game was in Indie Royale's April Fools Bundle so don't be fooled by the allure of a -30% coupon if you bought it.

Edit: Derp, it wasn't in BAGB 5. I was thinking of Paper Dungeons.

Thank you.
I really hope you will continue bringing doujin games here, I think I have 100% of your company's output and I still want more. :)

I really want Phantasmagoria, Ripper, Harvester, an the Darkseed games on Steam or GOG now.

Phantasmagoria 1 and 2 are on GOG as well. Activision actually did some good for once. But I agree would love Ripper and Darkseed as well. Hell more FMV games period they're the best. One of the reasons i'm so excited for the newest Tex Murphy.

So, this is the moment you were waiting for (I think?) some Steam keys giveaway! RefleX! The game is still unreleased but should un lock in a couple of hours. Enjoy some fine shmupping.

I just noticed that Age of Wonders III prepurchase price is oddly affordable, was it 11,99€ from the start? Is it region locked, Jasec?
And have you bought simple version or Deluxe one, I assume if you buy deluxe you get and preoder bonus mission and elven one?
why I'm even considering it? not like I'm going to play it any time soon, might as well wait for summer or winter sale

edited: also Unholy Heights are now on gog too

Many thx but curse you Sub Zero, I chose the wrong one and was beaten by a keyninja.

You mean Russia? They removed the lock yesterday.

It should be €39.99/€44.99, not €11.99, and, yeah, I bought the DDE. The Elven mission is for all pre-orders while the DDE also gets you Dragon's Throne and the OST.

Edit: Oh, if you're referring to trader prices, then, yeah, the OARIC flag was removed yesterday. Prior to that it was locked.

I was thinking about buying in for Alpha access, but my backlog of actually released games would glare at me over dinner without saying anything in front of our guests and then really let me have it on the car ride home.

Invisible Inc. works as a name if they keep going with the punny humor. (Invisible ink, har har.) Otherwise, I'm team Incongita.

I haven't kept up with it in a bit, though. Is there an actual release date yet?

You know it sure would be nice if these bundle websites could have an automated system that alerts you when steam keys are added.

I haven't really been keeping up with the game either, just waiting for it to hit full release or at least enough content to dive in.

Here is the latest update from their forums

The ninth update for the Invisible, Inc. Alpha. Initiation.

In general, this update focuses on new depth for agents in the form of augments while creating greater challenges by forcing the agents to be more careful in their play. Guards are tougher, but you have more options to deal with them.

Augments
A new kind of toy has arrived! As part of our design to make agent progression deep and meaningful, we've created Augments. Augments, like skills, are permanent improvements to your agents and will build your agents into masters of espionage and infiltration.

As well, like items, they can be found and bought in the world. They create an important choice though, as INSTALLING an Augment permanently uses an inventory slot. They provide ways to get boost of speed or multiple actions within a turn allowing your agents to pull off some sweet combos.

Tier 2 Guards
The corporations decided to protect their more precious items with more skilled personnel. Beyond the corporate special units, tougher guards will show up at the higher levels. Currently, they have more health and higher weapon damage. In the future we will be adding different types of tier 2 guards that present new challenges.

Guard stat balance
In conjunction with the Tier 2 Guards, all guards have had a stat boost. Combat has still been far too accessible a solution to most of the games challenges. We increased the guards health to allow only the best combat units the ability to take them down quickly.

Guard patrols contained
Guards have become tougher, but on the other hand, we've continued to provide more ways to make stealth easier. Guards patrol paths are now contained to two points, each point one turn of movement away. When you observe a guard on patrol, you can see his whole story at a glance. Where he is, where he will be, and where he'll be 2 turns from now. You'll be able to make plans that don't involve killing or even KOing guards more securely.

Hide action
Further enhancing the stealth options is a new HIDE action. When standing next to cover, an agent can HIDE behind it. Guards who would normally get cover penalties to hit the agent will not even see your agent, but guards who have cover-less sight to the agent will still be able to see them as normal.

Tutorial
A tutorial has been started to help lower the insane learning curve we've built up. For many of you seasoned players, it will just reveal what you've already sweat blood for, but for a few of you it may have a nugget here or there that you didn't know about because we just hadn't done a good job explaining it yet.

360° Vision
As many of you have discovered, the line of sight on agents is sometimes inconsistent while spending movement points. In addition, double-clicking on each movement had the effect of slowing the whole experience down. Because of this, we've decided to implement 360 degree field of view, and have single-click movement. Guards will continue to have 90 degree vision. The fictional conceit is that our agents are always looking around for danger, and from a design stand point we think it feels a lot better.

In general we want the games to go faster to improve the iterative play cycle and this certainly helps. (Note: Currently, sound traveling while moving is not implemented in this new method of movement and will be in a later update).

Compass
As a minor improvement we've added a compass indicator on the HUD to help players orient themselves in the world.

Change list notes:
Augments
Tier 2 guards
Guard stat balance
Guard limited patrol
hide action
Tutorial
360°[/size] vision
compass

steam store seems to be working but I can't purchase anything.
Anybody else with this problem? I get try again message, it's first time I got this ever. Usually if store works I can buy things. This is something new.

There have already been sales on the entire Atlus 3DS catalog, with EO IV selling digitally for $20. I'm sure Conception II will be featured in a sale eventually.

But as I said, I don't want to purchase them digitally. I purchased AA5 digitally and screwed up the memory card on my 3DS, losing my save data. I'm sure I'll do the same crap again. And even if I don't, I'm sure that the games I buy digitally won't carry over to Nintendo's next system, and that kinda sucks.
