so what happens if i uninstall it? I've had it in my steam games from when it was a free mod years ago. Will i have to pay for it if i download it again?

you probably punched in an original half life key, which added CS to your account automatically. If you delete it from steam you can just download it again.

Bullshit, most of the stuff will be much more expensive for europeans afterwards.

Pretty much everything is much cheaper for me now and it means they can at least stay respectably competitive with the local pricing which they didn't do before. Especially with the way the exchange rate has been the last few months.
The only time Steam was fairly prices was when it was £1-$1.8+ and now the fluctuating exchanges rates are not a problem.

You own 32 Steam Games worth ~ $384.71

Misleading since I bought the Strategy First pack which was around $70 for 20-25 games. Then the Sam & Max Season 1 pack too.

Though that's highly inflated by all the sales I bought from. I probably only spent half that.

Hey does anyone knows why take two games like the GTA series are region locked from southamerica? i was browsing the store and games like GTA and max payne didn't appear at all, it seems pretty weird to block those games. I live in chile btw.

EA on Steam would be so awesome but they need to release their back catalog. Being able to have all the Wing Commanders working flawlessly would be so awesome as I still have trouble with some of the titles.

Audiosurf is amazing.

If EA jumps onto Steam... hooooly shit. That's something I've wanted for a long time.

I just hope my EADM code for Crysis ends up working on Steam... I really dislike EADM; it doesn't work for shit and I had to get a nocd crack to get Crysis v1.2 to run. Lame and it's only 32bit.

1000x yes. I've wanted quite a few of their games for a while now and there's no way in hell I'm going near the EA store.

EA on Steam isn't the issue, as long as they keep using SecuROM (Crysis Warhead was on Steam)...or does this mean they might switch to only using Steam DRM? I haven't read the stories.

Steam is having issues at the moment. Playing TF2, people are getting randomly disconnected and can't access their loadout or unlocked weapons. Also the community pages are down for maintenance.

Is it too much to hope that they're loading up EA's games RIGHT NOW?

Crysis Warhead was not developed by EA, though. Merely published. The Steam dealie was negotiated by the devs, not EA.

Plus, I'd expect a similar backlash to BioShock's extra DRM if EA puts its games on Steam with SecuROM. Maybe even a bigger backlash just because "LOL EA". You know?

And anyway, I like digitally downloading my games. I refuse to use EA's service because it's absolute shit. The DRM in retail-purchased EA games is pretty bad but it's way worse on their DD service, from what I understand.

I think I'd rather have the EA backlog on GOG.com, but Steam works too.

As for Spore on Steam , they should add an achievement called "Should Have Let Soren Finish It" that unlocks after you put the game away forever after 15 hours of playing.
:lol Fuck man, why do you even do this to yourself? It's Maxis.

Quick question, is it possible to check the version of a game that is on steam?

For instance, I bought World of Goo on steam, and apparently there has been a v1.30 update a week or so ago, however I haven't noticed anything updating through steam, so is there a way I can check what version it is currently on so that I know to either manually download the update or leave it?

Unless there is a version indicator in World of Goo, no.

Steam will always update you to the latest version that the developer has released. Obviously, if a developer doesn't put their update on Steam, it won't update (and YMMV if you try to update manually). I believe the latest WOG patch doesn't change anything, but is just a cumulative patch for retail users so they don't have to install more than one patch.

The version on Steam is up to date AFAIK.

*Edit* Also, EA games would be great on Steam, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

ouch, poor Space Siege. Though the game probably doesn't really deserve much better based on the demo and reviews...

But at least on the PS2/PSP versions I can share the game save.

Yeah, but if you have half-way decent hardware (8800 GT and Core2 processor), you can run it at 1080p and 60 FPS. Easy.

You should consider it whenever we hit a slow spot. Nice thing about Steam, it will always be there, and the price is never going to go back up.

What? There's a new version of Outrun?

I played the classic a lot when I was a kid, but I don't really like racers (particularly simulators)... How good is it?

Holy shit, Civ 3 complete has more than $5 worth of playtime to it.

Yes, yes it does. That is an amazing deal and I think I might take advantage of it even though I won't play it much anymore. Many people think that Civ 3 is better than Civ 4, and at that price with all of the expansions... man that is just a steal.

How is Sid Meier's Pirates? I've been meaning to give it a try, but I was always waiting for the right price and $10 is just about right.

Definitely harkens back to the original arcade Outrun. No sim elements to clog up the works. It's an excellent game, and a must buy at that price if you loved the original.

Pirates is a certifiable classic as well.

I support Pirates! as well, even though I've never actually "finished" it. It's amazingly fun to amass a ton of ships and go plundering the French.

Fragamemnon said:
No one thinks this, don't fool yourself. Civ3 is the Galactica 1980 of the Civ series.
:lol I have to agree. Although, playing a ton of Civ3 did make it very hard for me to go back to Civ2.

Is the steam version a Windows Live game? Has it Achievements etc.?

EDIT: guys, is it normal, that all prices are in Euro now? I thought that was only a beta and you could pay in the currency you want. But now, everything is Euro and I can't change it anywhere! AHHAHAH!

Wow, I'm hoping/planning to get Civ IV this Christmas or soon after, still for that $5 I might very well get Civ III.

Htown said:
So, what's wrong with Civ 3 that I shouldn't pick it up for five bucks?

If you've played previous Civ games, you'll find that Civ3 sort of collapses under the weight of those traditional Civ designs and doesn't really do anything to address a the issues with those games. The design at that point was just too long in the tooth. Don't get me wrong, I played a LOT of Civ3 but it's the weakest entry in the series (and I've played them all).

Civ4 , in contrast, is one of the best games ever made for the PC platform.

Its a no brainer. We're talking about a version that is significantly better than the arcade release.

Also everybody has to buy Sega Rally Revo now, at $10 its the best bargain on Steam.

Agreed.

Yeah, just get civ 4. Can't be that pricey. Plus it scales well.
