Same, but otherwise it'd come out to be at least $100.shintoki said:Definitely going to wait for a Dragon's Age complete deal with all the DLC and expansions they are coming out with. So it'll be a while :lol

So...any recommendations for older but great PC games available on Steam? I'm hoping to find some good sim games, Prison Tycoon looks pretty cool.

That is ridiculous though. All those train DLC's are about $300. I don't care how much you love train simulators, but you need to admit that that is just milking the consumer.
Another old school game you should try is Aliens vs Predators Classic 2000, which just came out. It's $4.99, and they will be patching multiplayer in at a later date.
You didn't ask for FPS games, but the first two things I bought on steam were the HL1 anthology and Deus Ex, so I wanted to suggest HL1--it's fun!

I can't believe I haven't checked out Steam until now, I guess I don't game much on my PC since it's outdated and I have two consoles, but there is a lot of classic stuff on here that I haven't played yet. As I mentioned earlier I'm mostly interested in finding adventure and sim games since they're the genres I don't get to play as a console gamer.
I'll definitely d/l Half Life 1. I haven't played it in several years and when I did it was the PS2 version.
Steam is great for those, especially with their Lucasarts titles....
Railworks is closing in on $500 if you include the game itself and the expansions:

Snuggler said:I know I'm way LTTP here, but I just played the Machinarium demo and holy shit it's awesome, I already love the artstyle and music. How did I miss out on this...
Purchased, couldn't resist. Fuckin downloadable games are gonna bankrupt me...
Gah, one more question: CanYouRunIt.com is telling me that my shitty comp is capable of playing Team Fortress 2. I played the 360 version and loved it, I can only imagine how awesome it would be on PC but it the website must be basing the evaluation on Half Life 2 or something because I didn't think mine can run it. Is it possible to run TF2 on low settings on a shitty comp?

Time for an upgrade! :D

You can try downloading Half-Life 2's demo.

Online can be a pain if you are new to RTS, I was when I played it and I got rocked every match.Ydahs said:Is Company of Heroes worth the four dollars for someone who neither likes or dislikes the RTS genre? Is it complex (needs RTS experience) or newbie friendly?

Proper multi-core vs. TF2 multi-core.TouchMyBox said:What? Team Fortress two will stress out two CPU cores just fine, it just doesn't know how to offload work to quads and higher properly, cores 1 and 2 do all the heavy lifting while the others pick up the scraps off the floor.
Wish I could but can't now... my crappy Aussie internet is going to cap real soon so I kinda have to make the choice by tomorrow but download it next month.Volcynika said:There's a demo. You should download it.
