another game with unskipable end credits /rage

Anyway Mirror of Fate is completely decent / fine / well made "metroidvania" that for whatever reason gets completely ignored in the usual discussions about the genre. It actually tells a cool story, ties nicely with the other two games, looks good, controls are good in combat, not so much in platforming but the game has a very generous "magnetic pull" to platforms anyway, overall I quite enjoyed it. Made me want to finally play Lord of Shadow 2 thats for sure. I also like the twist the game (or the series) does on the regular Castlevania lore.

Man, im finishing games left and right lately, whats going on?

Okay, so it looks good, has a good premise and it's on kickstarter.

i've come to realize that like 95% of the things i've backed are srpgs or some kind of old school wrpgs

i love this genre so much, kickstarter has been really kind to it

did anyone see the arcadian atlas kickstarter?

it's a very clearly final fantasy tactics inspired srpg with really nice pixelart and a job system and like people in walking animation stuck in place and stuff

looks great

and yeah dark souls is not a game that rewards style, it's a merciless world out there and you gotta get things done however you can. there's no fair in the battlefield, only alive and dead!

it's less about money and more about the moment i have time

i just bought overwatch so between that, league and dks3 i kind of have my hands full

it'd be nice if it was 10 on sale, i'd probably buy it and keep it installed for whenever i feel like starting it out

I agree in general when it comes to applying human morals to beasts, but at the same time it is important to know that some animals don't and do give, at least to the best of their abilities, consent.

I'm not putting my money anywhere until I see if P5 is going to be good or if it's going to be like P4.

Just release all your old SMT games on Steam, already, Atlus.

It might. Really depends on how the gameplay pans out, as well as the much-touted procedural generation. If they have quintillions of planets, but they only feel like a dozen because they're samey, word will travel fast. It happened to Spore pretty quickly. It happened to Scribblenauts, which managed to hang on to a core for a few games before 5th Cell was regrettably gutted. It happens repeatedly to anything that Molyneux attaches his name to.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong and No Man's Sky will be the GOTF.

P4 was way too animu for my tastes

then they doubled down and made P4G which is like 10x more animu than the original

P4G becomes the face of the series, and taints the brand forever, and Atlus starts churning out spinoff after spinoff all about P4. and they don't stop. fans talk about P4G like it's the most hardcore thing ever, talk about their waifus, claim they are "hardcore SMT fans" because they put 500 hours replaying P4G to spend time with their waifu

not filled with confidence about P5 based on how atlus has handled the series

at least I have muh SMT4 Final

Okay, that's fair enough I guess. Never played P4G, only borrowed a buddy's PS2 and original P4. I did play Persona Q, which I enjoyed, but the animu-sity there seemed pretty tongue-in-cheek, and they intentionally Flanderized most of the characters. (It was mostly funny except for Teddie, who became severely annoying.)
