Compared to the beginning of the year you could almost call it rock solid. Tuesday maintenance is what it is and we had a few issues during the last days but overall it isn't too bad.

I saw Jazzpunk at $5 today and bought it instantly. Didn't think twice.
I'm not trying to be argumentative. There have definitely been times where I've held off on a purchase at prices even less than $5. There have been times when I had plenty of unfinished games and was not motivated to buy, or have been hesitant about buying at all without knowing if a game is good. I've even been down on my luck such $5 was a huge deal. And there have been games I've purchased on sale for less than $5 and felt that they were not worth the time or money.
I just find it funny we're talking about a price point less than most sandwiches at a hamburger joint, less than one drink at a ball game or a bar, barely more than a gallon of gas. Once upon a time this conversation would be unthinkable. Twenty years ago I (my mother, really) was paying $69.99 for SNES games. Adjusted for inflation you don't even want to know how much that was.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong or I got the wrong idea but, aren't those F2P games from the list above supposed to now add to your library if you click on the link?
Because I'm doing it, I get the Installation prompt, and then click cancel, but game count doesn't go up, and games don't appear there.
Isn't that how it works, or is Steam just being buggy right now?

If you get the installation prompt, you already have the game tied to your account. If you don't, the links will just pop up a "Steam is checking for game updates" message, which means the game is now tied to your account.

They don't show up in your library unless you make a purchase through the steam store if i'm not mistaken

I also want to finish Original Sin, but that'll have to wait. Moving sucks, I don't even really have a desk yet, which means I can't comfortably spend dozens more hours glued to my laptop's screen. Not yet. That's why I've been mainly sticking to console games lately.

Why are free games so inconsistent with being added to your library? I got Depression Quest yesterday and it's in my library even though it's not installed, but I have several more that aren't in my library.

By the way, as a result of the F2P games moving from sub 0 to their own Free on Demand subs, any uninstalled F2P games that you previously bought DLC for will have disappeared from your client library. The exception to this Gotham City Impostors, if you own the Ultimate Impostor Pack, as the game itself is included in it.
The sub includes a DLC helm. This wasn't an issue before since Spiral Knights was in sub 0 and any content therein is automagically granted to every Steam account, however now that the game has its own FoD sub, you first have to click "Play" to add the licence to your account.

Ohh alright, I see now. I thought the games were going to be added to your library as Wok mentioned you could increase your games count with those.
How do you check out your licences list, btw?

My Residence hall opens on the 22nd and I'll be leaving the desktop my brother and I share at my parents place, so I'll have kind of decent laptop (really just not shitty) and my 360 (which is mostly my rocksmith machine, but I have that on steam now too). I've been trying to clear any big, resource heavy games that I wont be able to run on my lappy (like Far Cry 3). I'll just have to hope Divinity will

Something else that's bugged me for a while is I own Serious Sam HD The Second Encounter, it's in my library, but if I view my games in my profile it doesn't show up. Anyone know why?

Can I take a moment of time with you fine SteamGAFfers and lump some praise on Screencheat? Some of the most fun I've had with an FPS in years. Deviously simple concept but a ton of fun. All players are invisible, so the only way to find and hit your opponent is to watch their corner of the splitscreen and gauge their location via level landmarks and the occasional (and often too late) muzzle flash. It's only in beta atm (for which you can grab 4 free keys by signing up at their website) but even already it shows a ton of potential with just 2 maps, 4 weapons, and 2 game modes. Highly recommend playing it local multiplayer, but there's online matchmaking as well for the more remote crowd. I fully intend to pick this up when it launches next month, and I may even host it as my next games night sometime next week if I get the chance, especially since the beta keys are free right now. Check out some gameplay vids if you're not convinced.
