It will be interesting to see how quickly Denuvo is cracked in subsequent releases, and how quickly newer versions are cracked.

If the DRM is invalidated than there is no justifiable reason for publishers to support it.

Denuvo isn't explicitly an issue right now as it seems to be mostly inert and rarely stops a game from running. It's essentially a fucking time bomb though, it's not a matter of if support is dropped, it's a matter of when.

Speaking of coolers, can SteamGAF give me some confirmation?

I recently upped my RAM, but now I'm 4-slotting it, instead of over 2. The problem is that I have one of those EVO coolers that is straight up gigantic.

One stick of RAM is juuuuuuuuust about touching, if not possibly touching, the plastic outer part of the fan's case on my CPU cooler.

I did some reading, and apparently this isn't an issue. Can you guys confirm?

It's fine. The plastic is just plastic.

There are low-profile ram sticks if things really cannot fit.

With Playstation Now comign to PC and Steam having experimented in game streaming makes me wonder, and really want in my current situation for a game streaming option for my games. Wouldn't it mean more sales, because people would know that they would always have acess to their games even if they didn't have a proper computer?

The ideal case would be DRM that automatically removed itself after a certain time period (1 or 2 years maybe?), but I can't see publishers being interested into something like that, and the timing mechanism would probably be another attack vector for pirates.

It costs money, but Paint it Back is probably the best Picross game on Steam. If you're into that genre, it's super-worthwhile.

Not like there's much competition.
Paint it Back
Picross Touch
Fantasy Mosaics 14
(But yeah, Paint it Back is great. On par with Jupiter or Hudson versions at the very least).

Valve will probably be lttp with the streaming stuff because of how large their digital storefront is. It would require them to invest a lot of $$$ and deal with a lot of devs/pubs/licensing issues etc.

dave is ok

aztek is ok
Well that card idling glitch is yielding some interesting results.

For starters, it appears that you can only get 100 cards at a time without going into your inventory screen a couple of times to clear the "new item" queue.

1151 card drops remaining (was over 1500 earlier today)
Do you just hit next to get a card?

jshackles

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Do you just hit next to get a card?

Basically, yeah. There are a few games in my list it doesn't seem to be working for, not sure why.

This Deus Ex update must be broken, first I've had this happen on Steam.
Like, Steam broke it? NinjaEdit: Oh, won't download. Gotcha!

I don't think I've ever had Steam screw up a patch. The "it just works" factor is a huge part of the reason it is so entrenched in my gaming library vs. the other clients. Even GOG feels like a slow dinosaur in comparison, and it's pretty light overall.

Whats this idling glitch we are talking about?

Run idle master (or something similar) and idle each game for about 5 seconds before manually moving on to the next game. The glitch is that there is a chance for a card to drop immediately rather than having to wait.

Do ya still need to wait 2hrs for each game 1st?

Doesn't appear so. You can go into the settings of Idle Master and select "Idle games individually"

I don't get cards for under-2hrs games.

I've got a few, but I certainly have better luck when I step through everything with > 2hrs. I guess I'll do all these first, then start idling in batches again.

What are the things to drop in Hitman that don't make much of a visual difference? Spotty 60 FPS performance at 1080P and very spotty at 1440P. Have a 980ti and i53570K.

DX11 or 12 for Nvidia cards?

Hell if I know, the performance is spotty no matter what for me on a GTX 1070 and i5-2500k. Consistently have dips into to the 40-50fps range with it maxed out on DX 11 or DX 12. I think it's just not very optimized for Nvidia cards.

Yes. If what Voksi has claimed is true, that he may be able to crack next denuvo games easier and faster with his new discoveries, Denuvo will become obselete and pubs will leave the service eventually.
