Pizza Dog
Only Super House of Dead Ninjas, Gunpoint and Monaco for me this time around, although Papers, Please and The Stanley Parable were tempting. Maybe in the winter sale.

Dark Souls (4,44 €, Amazon)
Gone Home (4,75 €)
Papo & Yo + Soundtrack (1 €, IndieStand)
Dishonored GOTY (3,2 € error price FTW)
Papers Please (4,49 €)
Another World 20th Anniversary Edition, I Have No Mouth but I Must Scream (Birthay presents)

Not bad, expecting a Daily/Flash on Deadly Premonition to jump on Winter Sales, as the Daily on The Stanley Parable was not enough discounted.

I finally got Deadly Premonition working after messing with it for a whole hour. It seems I can get the game to run without the Durante fix, but as soon as I add the fix I get a black screen.

I'm going to mess around with the Durante settings a little bit and see what went wrong, if I still can't get the fix to work. Then I'm going to have to play this game in all it's 720p goodness. It maybe because I have Win8 that I'm having so many problems, that's usually always the reason.

A little late reply, but you probably need to turn off the setting that disables the controller detection. They patched working controller support in to the game, and that dpfix setting is now both pointless and breaks the game, you only get a black screen. I think Durante said that he'll remove it in the next version.

Just a heads up: I'm working on a Starbound OT

What do you think of these?
Starbound | OT | Yes, that’s a space hobo
Starbound | OT | So it's like Terraria...in space!

Any suggestions?

If there is to be another set of Dailies then the sale wouldn't end until the fourth, which would be at odds with the banner image. Valve simply didn't update the phrasing used with the countdown timers to reflect the fact that the sale is ending coincident with today's store update.

Edit: Plus, if you click through to any of the non-featured deals, you'll see this:

I vaguely remember a previous sale that also ended. And then was followed by an encore day that only had the best selling games on sale (while the rest of the games returned to normal price)

Definitely. It will still be nice to have a bunch of coupons to use on their new indie store.

Oh? What's that? I really need to keep up with Amazon news.

Edit: Ah it's the thing that had all those bundles. Didn't know that the $5 coupons would work there, awesome news.

Isn't there already an OT for the Starbound beta?
Is there? I didn't search

Anyway, there are space hobos:

Edit: yeah, you're right

So disregard

Hobo one is good.

Terraria one won't bring any new people in if they didn't like it.

Yeah, last year's Winter Sale had an encore day, but only for those particular Dailies -- it wasn't an extension of the sale proper (I could have phrased my post better, admittedly).

My final (?) haul:

Shadow Warrior
Monaco
Contagion
Serious Sam 3 BFE
Ms. Splosion Man
Merto: Last Light (Amazon)

Still mad I didn't jump on the Dishonored price error. I saw it at 92% off, but was busy with something else at the time. Came back an hour later and the price was fixed. Still bummed.

Yeah, no more steam games (or services outside AR) for me :'( 20% was way too much but 35% is insane, my only hope right now is that Valve does the same thing that they did in Brasil: local currency.

It was nice while it lasted, maybe i'll play my backlog now...

Terraria at 9.99 is still one of the worst purchases I ever made on steam.
I don't know what I expected though I don't even like minecraft.

Terraria would be a great game if it didn't feel like work to do anything in it.
I already do enough of that at work, thank you, why should I mine 500000000 blocks to be able to build a small house.

does not compute. It's in my top ten most played games. What exactly didn't you like about it?

due to the 2d nature of the game it is much less tedious than something like minecraft which requires you to build in 3d (roughly 4x the amount of work. Starbound is going to make it even less tedious because of the matter manipulation device (although I think the pickaxe is still in the game).

Bought:

Shadow Warrior
Deadpool
Endless Space DLC
Euro Truck 2 DLC
State of Decay
TDU2

yeah yeah I know tdu2 has that DRM stuff but it's been on my wishlist forever, all I needed was a decent discount for me to double-dip. 2's much worse than the original but there really isn't anything like it (a cruising simulator) on the PC.

Aside from what Turfster said world building type stuff just isn't my thing.
Like I said I don't even like minecraft. I like making stuff but the effort it takes to make anything in those games is just to much for me. Not to mention it's just odd when you need certain things to make weapons and the like and it doesn't tell you that in game. I get it's about the exploring and the like but I guess that just isn't my bag no matter how much I try,

ok volgarr has me in controlling throwing mode. nice throwback to my 10-year-old days. pure rage. it took me an hour to get to the first checkpoint and at that point i discovered it doesn't save until you beat the first boss. i have it alt-tabbed now and it probably will be all day

Same. Terraria taught me that I'd rather play Dwarf Fortress, and one game of Dwarf Fortress tides me over for like five years.

The enemies and dropping stuff when you die don't help either.
You have to build weird houses just to make sure the blood moon zombies won't fuck everything up, and don't even get me started on clearing background tiles to make sure the worms won't suddenly dig up into your house.
It's also way too easy to die somewhere far below ground, spawn back up top and have no clue where your shit is now, especially if you've been tunneling on a server with friends and people are constantly changing the lay of the land =p

Good thing I bought many Steam games these past days. My incredibly awesome government decided to increase the dollar tax today (why is that a thing, don't ask me), which means I'll now have to pay more whenever I buy something not in my local currency. Let's hope it's not retroactive, or I'll appear on the news for attempted magnicide.

Sadly I haven't bought all the 3DS games I wanted yet. Oh well, you can't always have it your way I guess.

Damn this really sucks, I had no idea about this tax over there. Hopefully a solution or some workaround surfaces for you guys.

Terraria is basically a create your own metroidvania. I can understand why people would be put off by the crafting, it does get pretty involved but really it is pretty perfect if you enjoy any kind of 2d action platforming and creating your own content.

Back before the guide NPC told you how to create things I spent tons of time on the wiki page. Games like these require you do a bit of homework.

Finished The Walking Dead

the onions, fuck man :(

Did you play the 400 days DLC?
I have to say concept wise I liked that more than the entire season 1 of walking dead.
The idea of doing multiple angles like that which all have a connection I thought was very interesting. Even if they didn't live up to the idea themselves. Aside from that Nate was an awesome character addition that I hope shows up in Season 2.

Nope, haven't bought 400 days, is it a prequel?

Where do they live? I was complaining about 7% International Purchase tax here in Brazil last month, but 35%? Damn.

They can still receive gifts, right? I'm sure some kind gaffers will assist them with tax-evasion. :D

Well, they can receive gifts. They can't pay for them. (it would still be a Dollar purchase and they would still have to pay 35% on top of whatever they send).

But *actual* gifts? sure! :D
