Steam Autumn Sale Thread of Your Wallet Giving Thanks *Gobble Gobble*

Damn, my 3D vision glasses came in today and I've been waiting on a Hard Reset sale. Do I wait for the possible daily or...?

Other stuff I want:

Dead Island
AVP 2010 for 5bux
Mirror's Edge
New Vegas DLC
Renegade Ops (I'll try to get in on a 4 pack when I get home)
Lost Planet 2 (lol capcom)

and maybe RAGE. Maybe.

PSA: DO NOT BUY TDU2 UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES*, ELSE DOG SHIT WILL BE YOUR REWARD.

*including:
  • the oft-mentioned lulz
  • "it's so bad it's good!"
  • "it's 2 boxes of cereal! COME ON!"
  • masochistic tendencies (just slam your balls in a drawer)
  • "the power of Gabe compels me to buy everything, Master's bidding must be done"

Pre-ordered that disaster based on the great times I had with TDU1 on the 360, really enjoyed cruising around and exploring that huge island. After installing the sequel and realising how fucked up it was, bewilderment and crushing disappointment finally led to rage and a NEVER INSTALL category. Fuck Eden and Atari.

How many of these deals will repeat or go lower in the Christmas sale or did the sales last year have different dailies?

For things like Skyrim, Batman AC, Saints Row 3 I'm guessing we'll need to wait until Xmas/NY sale to get any discount and next spring/summer sale to get real heavy discounts.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised to see a small discount on Skyrim or Arkham City.

Haha, I now own FFXI twice on Steam. I lost all my account information(second time that has happened to me with the playonline crap). This time I'll be sure to write down all my account info.

75% off is usually the biggest discount and occasionally we'll get 80% off or more so expect any of the 50% off deals to be discounted even higher during the holiday sales.

I think I've said this sometime in the past, but you'd think they'd be able to invest in some servers with all that money they apparently earn. Shouldn't have to be this hard to buy a game online, heh.

£4.99 = $4.99?

Yeah, no. Oh well. I've waited so long on Mass Effect 2 now that I don't really care anymore. With The Witcher 2, Skyrim and other such titles I've been reminded what a good RPG actually is.

Get ME2. It is one of my favorite games. It might not have as many RPG elements as these other games, but the world they create and the investement in the characters are what really let it shine... oh and that final mission!! That final mission, indeed!

Just do yourself a favor and import a Shepard from ME1. This games is only half as good if you havn't played the first (like I said, emotional investment in world and characters is where its at, IMO).

Christmas was better last year. But these are Holiday quality sales. They're not screwing around this year. I suppose Duke Nukem could be 75 percent at Christmas, but most of those deals will not be beaten. Matched? Sure. Most will not be beaten when you're talking 75 percent off.

Heard Renegade Ops runs like shit on PC. True?

I've got 7 hours logged.

Will play it again when I get a 3D setup (since it's supposed to have great 3D).

Oh? Are you talking performance? It runs like a breeze. 1080P locked at 60fps on my Q9400 @ 3.4Ghz and GTX 460. Neither the CPU or GPU are being remotely stressed. Could easily run at 1080P@120fps if I had the monitor.

I own this on 360. Was thinking of double dipping. Does the DLC bought for 360 carry over to PC (It should, probably doesn't)

No, it (ME2 DLC) won't transfer, you'll have to repurchase it on the PC if you want to access it on the PC.

There were a number of people reporting issues in the OT, but it works fine for others. The patch actually made it worse for some people.

Just out of curiosity what is so bad about the game?

Ugh. Well am I really missing much if I don't get the DLC?

You should definitly get:
- Lair of the Shadow Broker (best DLC and important story for ME3)
- Arrival (medicro DLC but important story for ME3)

You might want to get:
- Kasumi (new Squad mate and awesome mission)
- Project Overlord (good and long side quest)
- Firepower Pack (3 awesome weapons)

Skip:
- the rest

Something weird is going on with the Mass Effects for me. They keep randomly disappearing from my cart, and when I finally am able to add them both and try to check out, it sends me right back to the main Store page. Anything else I try to buy works fine.

First major steam sale with a proper gaming pc, this should be fun. Luckily today I'm only interested in orcs must die! dlc.
