Steam Autumn Sale Thread of Your Wallet Giving Thanks *Gobble Gobble*

I already have Mass Effect 2 on PC, but I wish they would just release a GOTY/Ultimate edition already that has all of the DLC. It would probably be cheaper to just buy that on sale than it would be to buy a bunch of Bioware Space Bucks. Plus, I am not sure if the DLC has ever gone on sale on their site (which then would possibly get me to cave enough that I pick up Shadow Broker).

Someone mentioned earlier that their points have been on sale in the past.

I need the Quake collection to go on sale! Been wanting to get my fix ever since that "If Quake were made today" video started making the rounds.

Was just about to ask about this. That's a shame, $2.50/$3.75 is a great price, but not for a broken game.

Well apparently there's an HD patch for Strangers Wrath coming to Steam released with the PS3 version? If true then it's a good deal. True?

People are still going to buy non dailies watch lol .

I really want to freaking buy Driver San Fran, I'm hoping it gets a daily. Hope hope hope. Also, Skyrim. Even like 15% off, I'd probably still bite. Otherwise, I think I'm going to buy through GMG with their 10% off. I just know I want it before the Christmas sale.

Not enough sparkles, and I should know, I'm an expert.
This better?

PSA: DO NOT BUY TDU2 UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES*, ELSE DOG SHIT WILL BE YOUR REWARD.

*including:
  • the oft-mentioned lulz
  • "it's so bad it's good!"
  • "it's 2 boxes of cereal! COME ON!"
  • masochistic tendencies (just slam your balls in a drawer)
  • "the power of Gabe compels me to buy everything, Master's bidding must be done"

Pre-ordered that disaster based on the great times I had with TDU1 on the 360, really enjoyed cruising around and exploring that huge island. After installing the sequel and realising how fucked up it was, bewilderment and crushing disappointment finally led to rage and a NEVER INSTALL category. Fuck Eden and Atari.

I bought it. Nah nah a boo boo.

If you can find two other UK'ers I'm up for a UK 4 pack.

Pretty tempted to jump on mirrors edge since I doubt it'll go any lower than 50%

I'd be up for that.

I'm going to be away from my computer for an hour or two, but if a UK group can get together I can host.

getting OMD for sure...

what about Hamilton's great adventure though? anyone own it? Is it worth my time? i checked out some reviews and am downloading the demo right now but i'd like some impressions from people that played further into it

I'm literately at the payment screen for ME1+2 but I really can't deal with the ME2 DLC being separate from steam, as stupid as that sounds. Might just give it a miss and see how I feel during the christmas sales.

For people looking at the Oddboxx and reacting negatively to the bad reviews on the PC ports of the third and fourth Oddworld games, why not just buy the first two (quality, 2D) games individually? They're 60 cents each :p

It's an excellent game for what it is, and would easily make my top 10 of the year. Tons of content, super fun, and very replayable to improve your performance. It also looks and sounds great. My one reservation would be that it's a tad buggy for certain hardware configurations. I never ran into a single issue, but plenty of people literally couldn't even launch the game, so you're best off playing the demo to make sure it works for you. Totally overlooked, can't recommend it highly enough, A++++++

Hmmm I've never played Portal before. I've never played Portal 2 before. Man, I've never even played a game on my Mac before. Tempted to jump in on the Portal double pack.....

I liked it more than most people, but I'm a big puzzle/platformer buff in general. Most people on GAF who played it liked it a good deal, though, so even if you didn't like it as much as I did, I'm sure you'll still appreciate it if you enjoy the genre!

First steam sale with a (modern) gaming quality computer. Thinking of grabbing Unreal Tournament III, and Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate. Anyone think the Dragon Age one might get better? Does UT3 run fine on Windows 7? Still worth picking up if you still play/love UT99+UT2004? I wish they'd put some of the older Call of Duty games on sale.

EA has a rocky relationship with Valve right now so no one can really predict how much they'll participate in the sale. In the past, when they have participated, they've done some pretty good sales. I'd definitely follow rule #1 and wait until the last day to see if it shows up as a daily. Good luck!

I loved the campaign, but the bonus levels are a real bitch.

I didn't know the first two games were not experiencing the same problems, thanks for the heads up

I'll add myself to the Hamilton's recommendation. Haven't finished it, but it is a pretty neat puzzle game from what I've played.

Posting it again, can anyone help me?
Anyone in US can gift me a copy of BulletStorm? I can refund you by paypal. It is only US$ 9.99 in US but here is showing US$ 29.99.

Assuming cooltobeyou still wants in on a four-pack, that makes

1. cooltobeyou
2. ShineALight
3. O.DOGG
4.

We just need one more, and someone to take on hosting duties.

I'll be in if I can gift someone a game over steam, any game $4.99 or lower (I'm adding $1+ it should be $3.75)

Can somebody explain how this Mass Effect DLC stuff works?
Does it mean that I'll have to make some type of account just to buy DLC? And then remember this account forever and ever if I want access to the DLC (i.e. it does not become a permanent part of my Steam copy)? If so, EA can suck it.

Besides my wishlist I decided to do another full catalogue scan to see if there was anything I was missing.

A few games I'd never heard of piqued my interest:
Helldorado - Western action/strategy hybrid? 65 Metacritic, released Apr 30, 2009. Screenshots don't do anything to actually explain what the game is about.

Westward IV - Frontier town building sim / railroad RTS? Again, the shots don't really convey too much about what the game is about, but that's what the video trailer looks like. It looks neat.

Lightfish -- Looks like QIX meets Geometry Wars meets flOw?
