Steam Autumn Sale Thread of Your Wallet Giving Thanks *Gobble Gobble*

can someone elaborate on me2?

yeah i know it's only $5 but i don't care if it's 1 cent, i wanna get the DLC sorted.

it's really old so i guess there's no GOTY version. how much is all the DLC if i buy it today? does bioware ever put it on sale?

i want the complete game, i already played it for consoles on day 1, but i usualyl rebuy GOTY editions on PC for the DLC/better graphics, and me2 doesn't have any DLC so yeah.

thanks for the help.

edit: me1 DLC info would be cool too.

Dungeon Defenders 50% but not a dialy do i resist?

When considering purchasing a game that isn't part of the daily deal, always ask yourself this: "Am I 100% certain that I will play this game today?" If the answer is 'no', then you should wait.

I picked up Orcs Must Die, Portal 2 (Hahah! And people told me I was crazy for missing the $15 sale a month or two ago! SUCKERS!), and Puzzle Dimension ($2.49, 75% off).

Quite a few non-dailies on my wishlist though, looking forward to the next few days.

What do you guys think? Will Witcher 2 go to $16 or lower? It's only 33% off right now, and Amazon has it for 60% off, and that version's DRM-free.

Chances are high, big title game that was released this year that went on sale a little bit ago, I wouldn't doubt it going on sale this week, if not winter sale for sure.

Well, I bought Trauma, as it's just $1.75.

A few of my main things I'm looking for cheap are already on sale, so here's to hoping for daily deals.
Probably going to pick up Bully for sure by the end of this.

Yay steam sale!

Does anyone want to get in on a 4-pack for Renegade Ops? It's so much cheaper D:

I would, but I can only gift someone a game. I'll even throw in an extra $1 and make it so any game $4.99 or lower is yours, if you get me renegade ops. :D

I'm thinking that a daily deal on it would likely, at the most, be 66% off, which is negligible IMO. I think I'll tell my roommate to just go with Amazon.

Tempted by ME2 (still haven't played) but with no mods AND no controller support i'll have to pass.

edit: Will wait on Witcher 2. Only thing on my wishlist at this point.

Don't worry, people will be laughing at you again when Portal 2 s $7.50 in the winter sale :P

And then some more when it's free next year :P :P
...

Still debating on getting the Oddbox, yes, its 3.75, and yes, I'll probably never play it.

Great. Wallet raping time.

I picked up Mass Effect 2 for me and a friend. Not bad for a £5 each.

/another game to add to my backlog...

The Oddworld series Steam forums are still filled with threads about how often they crash/how poorly they run. I really want to pick them up at that price but it seems like a lot of people are still having trouble even getting them to run. :(

Yes, very much so.

I'm in the UK, so I get very high gifting fees, so I can host (I tested it just now) or pay up, it's up to you lot.

Looking for some quick opinions on Risen. Looks very tempting.

It's my favorite RPG from 2009. It's a really great open-world RPG game with a focus on exploration. The final act and ending are a bit weak, but the journey is incredible. I've played through it three times already and will play at least once more before the sequel is released.

Keep in mind that the combat can be quite challenging until you get used to it, but it's also very rewarding in that it's mostly skill based, and you really feel like you're getting better as you learn the mechanics.

My first "Gothic" type game. Finished it and liked it very much. Takes time to develop you character meaning mage / warrior decision doesn't have to made for a while though the ending could of been handled better. Crafting swords, potions all included. Great atmosphere, hard in the beginning till you get established.

You're passing ME2, one of the if not the best game of 2010 for $5 because it doesn't have controller support?

I did not miss having a controller at all, it plays perfectly fine with a mouse/keyboard and it looks better on PC. For 5 bucks there is no reason not to get it

My goal for this holidays Steam sales is to get Portal 2, Rage, Bastion and Limbo for under $50. And actually before Portal 2 even came out I had planned to buy it once it hit $10. Seems like I'll meet my goals without much difficulty. Now actually getting around to playing all these games on the other hand...

Bought Portal 2. This sale is stupid though, how the hell am I supposed to find any good deals amongst the thousands (literally) of crappy games they have on sale?

Buying games that aren't daily deals?

Come on now son.
This needs to be in big sparkling letters in the OP instead of just highlighted.

Number #1 Rule of Steam Sales: Remember to wait and see if the game you want is going to be a daily deal before buying it, if it isn't by the last day you can purchase it. Too many people I have seen make this mistake.

You look at the daily deals--which change every day, so there'll be a total of around 60 daily deals during the sale--for the key deals, and besides that you rely on your wishlist or just navigate the site you would normally. Most of the same stuff will be on sale at Christmas so you shouldn't feel pressured to get every game you've ever wanted now.

If you can find two other UK'ers I'm up for a UK 4 pack.

Pretty tempted to jump on mirrors edge since I doubt it'll go any lower than 50%

In for Mass Effect 1 and 2 for sure. Need to do the MS Space Dollar conversion for the DLC I want to see how much I'm really down.

Runespell: Overture is not a daily deal and it's 75% off, so I'll probably grab that before the sale is over.

Now I get to play the waiting game. :/
