As far as I'm aware beta testers will as always get to keep the game.

Really it seems the least we can do as they're doing us a rather big favour, we'd certainly struggle to test it on a decent variety of machines without them/

It's a really nice gesture on your part, no doubt about it.

Added Rainbow Six 3 and Vegas to my wishlist on Steam, unfortunately they haven't been on dedicated discount at any point in the last year.

Did you watch that video I linked Dogg?

Watching it now and dude is on point. Although I wouldn't say the first holds up that well when comparing it to the sequels which are big progress over the first and expansions. Raven Shield though is fucking nuts because you have all the strategy, all the tactics and planing and it's so immediate because you can micro manage on the fly. Plus even as a straight up FPS it's mechanically tight.

Vegas I've always felt is a console game through and through but is still a good tactical shooter if a little limited but when in co-op with 2 players you can coordinate breaches and cover multiple entry points like no entry in the series, even more so with 4 players. Vegas 2 on the other hand was limited to 2 players and the host had 2 AI squad mates to look after and the other coop player was solo on their own but the host was usually fucked over having to hobble around 2 AI squad mates and death meant a restart which constantly happened to the AI on Realistic difficulty. Though Vegas 1 multi was way to much fun when it was big. We spent months just playing Attack & Defend on Calypso Casino.

It's not coming out for several months, there's no gameplay video, it's based on 5E rules...meh, I mean I'll need to see a little more before I get excited, I suppose.

The video they released look like it was mostly gameplay? That and ingame environments. Sure I might be fanboy:ing but if there is a slightest chance it brings some of that NWN magic I will be so damn happy.

I'm a bit surprised Super Bunny Hop didn't mention the first Ghost Recon on the video, being also from Red Storm and so. Another fantastic tactical FPS and at the same time it manages to feel very different to the RS series, although the fully military focus isn't as charming as the more "police action" from the Rainbows.

I also wonder where of 2k vault are the Hidden & Dangerous rights. The second game needs a digital release somewhere. Same shit with SWAT 4, but that can be more problematic.

Damn it

can anyone link me some other steam skins i can use?

i used pixelvision and I hear the author for it retired and is done updating it?

I checked my account activity to see if it listed NBA 2K15 like the other free weekend games and it wasn't there. No idea what's going on. I know others are having the same issue going by the game's Steam forum. Hoping it corrects itself soon.

I thought the author was updating it again? The most recent version of Pixelvision has the new DLC panel thing in it so it must have been updated.

I was using Metro and I really liked it. I've stopped now though. I was getting a bit annoyed having to download updates from deviantart every time a new feature came to Steam. I'm surprised they haven't got a workshop for themes really. Would make things a whole lot easier.

I'm pretty sure the author for Pixelvision did return to updating it, yeah.

I used to use Metro, switched to the New Air since I kinda like the Material Design UI language but the author has been very slow to update with newer features. Certainly thinking about switching back to Metro.

They updated the Android app? What with the Support account tweeting for the first time in months the other day it's either opposite week or someone new is trying to find their place to settle.

I don't know if they did, I'm just relaying things. Maybe jshackles could look at the github link :p

Wait so Valve are now pay to win? Or at least, Pay to cripple opponents more effectively..

I don't know...doesn't seem cool, yeah. Last time it was paywalled things, now this. But reddit hasn't freaked out yet.

Also thread-worthy. You're on a role... or Valve is... whatever

Nah, this is too vague and not much.

No updates to the android app here, still on the March 1, 2012 version.

Also, just out of curiosity, what does the dota2 thing mean?

GDC is going to be real good.

Just added March 2-6 to my calender.

NO ONE SAID YEAR WALK HAD JUMP SCARES. WHAT THE HELL, GUYS

heheheh

Sounds like there is evidence pointing to Valve updating the Android app soon.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I don't know if they did, I'm just relaying things. Maybe jshackles could look at the github link :p

Not to dash everyone's hopes here, but judging from the Github link this is just an authentication mechanism for remotely hosted input methods. It's most likely to do with in-home streaming (or possibly the Steam Controller) and probably has nothing at all to do with Android.

Oh well...

But IHS for Android could be nice regardless. Though it still might just be Remote Control.

Also, just out of curiosity, what does the dota2 thing mean?

In this year's event the two teams each have a Year Beast helping them out in matches. They can use Ability Points to manipulate and enhance them.

Well, it's an optional event and unlike the Greevil shit some years ago it's still largely a regular Dota match, we'll have to see how impactful a beefed up beast is vs that of a team without many points. But the event could be described as p2w depending on your definition.

Wow, Paranautical Activity is coming back to steam.

Paranautical Activity will be (re)releasing on Steam, and debuting on the Humble Store and GOG on Friday 13th February, 2015 in a new Deluxe Atonement Edition.

The Atonement Edition includes a new 'special floor' - a slippery slidey Frozen variant; a new weapon - the thumping 'Recoil Rifle', used to create space between you and enemies and traps, and giving an interesting new angle to gameplay; and a new item - the Digerati Defibrillator, because well, someone had to bring this game back to life, right? There are also developer commentaries, wallpapers and The Seafarer's Guide, which helps players understand the enemies, items, weapons and bosses. Paranautical Activity: Deluxe Atonement Edition will launch at $9.99 with a 30% discount.

"We've taken over the PC rights for Paranautical Activity, because we loved the game and were sad that people weren't getting to play it. I wanted to thank everyone who had already supported the title in its early access stage, so we've added some new in-game content - a new level, item and weapon as well of a bunch of other cool unseen digital bits and bobs. Working with GOG, Steam & the guys at Humble is always a pleasure and brings the game to a wider, different audience so it's great to be going (back) out on all these stores on the same day!" Nick Alfieri, Digerati.

About Paranautical Activity: Deluxe Atonement Edition.
She's back! Paranautical Activity combines the classic FPS action of games like Doom and Quake, with the randomness and difficulty of modern roguelikes like Binding of Isaac and Spelunky.

Features
Unique FPS / Roguelike combination
Procedurally generated levels
Impossibly fast game play
Hidden levels
Over 100 items
40+ enemies & ridiculous bosses?
Kick ass Dubstep soundtrack
The Deluxe Atonement Edition includes the following:
Developer footage & commentary, from prototype to pre-alpha to full release!
The Seafarer's Guide - A pro guide with a nautical twist. Consult the pro guide to become the leanest, baddest, mostest bestest Paranautical Activity player you can be.
1 new level type (Frozen), 1 new weapon (Recoil Rifle) and 1 new item (The Digerati Defibrillator)
Wallpapers baby!
The game will be going live at 9am EST on Friday on Steam/Humble and Midday CET on GOG

Game Page Steam - http://store.steampowered.com/app/250580
Game Page GOG - http://www.gog.com/game/paranautical_activity

Just get Rainbow 6: 3 Raven Shield (and expansions) for tactical gameplay and Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 for campaign bro-op (multi was awesome in the day but surely it's way, way past it's prime). Vegas 2 has a very clunky co-op implementation and only 2 player unlike the first which was up to 4.

Edit:

Damn it Grief!

I still have my physical copy of the first R6 Gold Edition lying around somewhere in my storage room. One of my sentimental possessions - that was one of the first PC games I played. I've probably dropped more hours into Rogue Spear: Black Thorn than anything else, though.
