I should give that one a shot one of these days. Got it from the capcom HB, never played a LP game.

So hyped for Nier, I hope I find the time to replay the first game before Automata is out.
It's been a while since the majority of my most antecipated games were japanese, Persona 5, Gravity Rush 2, The Last Guardian, Yakuza 0 and 6... Good stuff.
Tales of Berseria is also looking good.

playing on normal. there was a thread a day or two ago about how the writers of this game are writing the story for some new game and a lot of ppl were going on how the story was great in lost planet 3, I'm in the mood for a decent action game with a fun story so i figured why not? if it gets frustrating I'll just turn down the difficult, just in it for the story afterall

Took me almost two days to download on my primitive Australian connection. Game sizes are increasing at a rate that our infrastructure development can't keep up with.

Shadow of Mordor might be a bit divisive, depending on where one falls on the Ubi-like collectathon tolerance scale, but it's worth every gig of that download, in my opinion.

It's the epitome of collect shit while slaying orcs.Like Mad Max, after a couple of hours you'll reach a point where you're happy to do the same thing for the rest of the game (more or less) or not; not a ding on either, it's just the nature of the beast... That repetitive loop either pulls you in or it doesn't.

It's weird, because the open word formula in SoM really worked with me (it was my first platinum in the PS4), while I lost my interest in Mad Max very quickly, despite me finding the setting the latter much more interesting. Maybe I should give it a second chance, all the Zelda hype got me in the mood for some collectathon.

It won so many GOTY awards too, just goes to show you how poor of a year for gaming that was. Not to shit on the game, I actually liked it, but it wasn't no goty contender thats for sure.

Shadow of Mordor is the most boring game I have played in a long time.

SoM formula totally put me off.

Mainly because the combat is piss easy. Then pretty much the you're doing the same thing over and over.

I usually don't get hooked easily on open worlds either, but somehow SoM got me bad. And I partially disagree on the combat being easy, at least on the first map there were some genuinely tough sections. The second map was a breeze, but I actually enjoy being able to steamroll everything in front of me, so it wasn't a problem in my case, though I can understand the complaints.

Also, although I don't think it deserved any of the GOTY titles, I disagree on 2014 being a mediocre year for games, I can think of at least 5 outstanding titles.

heh, wow it actually was, guess my memory was mixed up since i normally buy my games a year or so later most of the time. lots of good stuff in 2014, which makes mordor winning goty at multiple places even more confusing.

I just picked up a sony 850d that Im usimg for pc gaming. Via hdmi I can do 1080p at 120 hz by making a custom aspect ration in nvidia control, but it gives me some artifacting. Anyone know of a way around this?

I think you can fix that by editing the unreal2.ini file. Search for "PlayerSpeedRatio=1.000000" and change the value to something higher (between 1.5 and 2 is probably best), see if that helps. Or you can do it by opening the console and entering:

Early Unreal ties lag to video while the gameplay and sound goes on normally. Not sure why but that's what it does. If you get a really bad lag spike it could even totally freeze the visuals, but you keep entering the inputs you were gonna do and it'll do what you want and the visuals will come back eventually. Got many a blind kill in UT that way.

i never knew about that, i should also totally play some ut, i wasn't good at those competitive games but i really like to pop into q3 and ut back then and getting owned

I believe you have to buy $10 bucks in DLC to get a card drop from a free-to-play title.

Also, you don't have to download anything to run the app you can just use idlemaster.

There's also the trick where you edit a file to convince steam one game running is actually the one you want to idle. I can't quite remember the details of how to do it or look it up at the moment though.

Hm, for some reason GeDoSaTo doesn't work on FFXIII like it did last time I had my desktop (pushes game into small box in the corner yet minimap is in the same place) and borderless window mode isn't an option anymore and there is still no fix for the framerate or means to lock it to 30 without GeDoSaTo.

Guess I'm never finishing that game or getting the sequels. Thanks for the shit port, SE.
