It's a giveaway so everything's fair game, but there's a semi-infinite number of things that the giver could've put as their favorite band, and unless something's hidden in their BBC code, I don't know how someone's going to guess an anonymous person's favorite band outside of knowing the answer, unless it's a mainstream culprit that can be interpreted as a band.

It'd be like me asking folks what my favorite band is, knowing nothing about who I am, what I like, etc.

I tried with Radiohead since that's Cartman favourite band (or is it?) but it was my second try.

I didn't enter, but that's my guess as well. I bet modbot is super into Paranoid Android.

It is really good, I can't believe it's them that made this netcode. MKX on PC got screwed hard and what's worse is they've been working on this netcode for 8 months from what they've said. So they knew they were going to screw us from the start by trying to salvage MKX PC all this time.

What an absolute bummer. :/

Still my favorite game though. ;)

i liked it a lot, i actually finished it with dark and light side and everything back in the day. but i don't think i would care much for it if i played it again today

like i'd appreciate what it's trying to do, but that combat was not very much fun for me even back then and it missing like huge chunks of the game is not awesome

but hey, i won't fault you for it

Whoever offered this, thanks! :)

I'm wondering whether to start with OG Wasteland 2 or the Director's Cut, I seem to be reading some pros and cons about either version. What would SteamGAF recommend me to start with?

Given up on the Tim Sweeney thread. Just endless thread title reading only or partial screencaps of part of a conversation to spin things one way.

It's a little disheartening that posters on Neogaf of all places would lack the critical thinking skills to understand what UWPs actually mean for the future of Windows applications. So many people in that thread keep going on and on about how there's nothing wrong with Microsoft setting up their own store (which isn't even in contention) and how it's exactly what Steam does. You'd think people would stop to wonder why a genius programmer and close ally of Microsoft is pressing the panic button over this stuff. They're trying to play a long game that will probably take a couple of OS refreshes to come to fruition if we allow it to happen, but apparently some people just can't see that far ahead.

Overall I think that I am missing Fallout 4. I did tons of missions and basically saw everything the main story has to offer and traveled through hundreds of side missions and whatever. The high points were great but they were far and in-between. I feel like there has to be some really great side content that I just happened to miss out on, or that I was just playing the game wrong. I contemplated on buying the season pass before the price increase just not to miss out on anything, but is there anything to miss out?

There were some bright spots in the game. You could be wandering around and come across some random building that had an interesting little self contained story. The main story plot was rubbish, of course, and entirely predictable, but these little vignettes were good. The problem was that finding these gems in a mountain of shit was far too tedious. I'm sure I must have missed some cool stuff as well but I just could not take one more minute of wandering around that dull, lifeless, boring game world to find it.

I would never in a million years have gotten that ship puzzle. I watched the solution and I still babe no idea what's going on.

A friend told me that Blow said it was possibly the hardest puzzle in the game. It basically requires digital signal processing. I think only clairvoyant people were going to get that one on their own.

Thinking about getting The Division, what do you guys who've played the beta think of the game? Is it going to be good?

I thought the beta was pretty good fun. Played it with friends, which obviously helps a lot. I'm a sucker for the loot hunting style of game so this kind of lines up with my tastes. It helps that the game looks amazing as well. My only concern is with the amount of content the game is going to have and how long it'll last. I picked up the season pass version of the game and apparently it includes new content for the rest of the year but we'll see how that goes. Not usually a fan of pre-ordering season passes but in this particular case the difference in price was only a few dollars so I just went with it.

The Director's Cut is pretty much better in every way. What were people saying were the pros of the OG version?

Yeah, apparently. Destructoid even has an article up about it. Don't read this if you haven't played the Witness as it can spoil stuff.
i kind of find a relief in this cos it means i won't really try to face that puzzle heh

i mean like actual bands like band member characters. you know, like brutal legend or something

and honestly i don't have anything against rock band but sadly i can't afford toys guitars

At Case 3 in Dead Rising 2, so about a third of the campaign. Level 10. I got two more inventory slots and slightly more faster but still not a fan weapons breaking fast.
At least I managed to bring the FOV to a more useful setting.
I wonder if I would like DR3 more. If there was a demo that'd be great.

ohh

i love dead rising 2, that game's great

breaking weapons is annoying but a necessity to force you to experiment and improvise

i'm also curious about dead rising 3, i hope it goes really cheap someday

The first Dead Rising 2 is awesome. I haven't had a lot of time to play with the second one.

I don't remember having an issue with weapons breaking. I always had a good selection of weapons ready to go.

My band in Rock Band 4 is better than any anime band by default.

Normally I don't like side with anime in these situations (because it's for jerks) but:

FkJpWa7.jpg

It's an anime band created by the collaboration of Leiji Matsomodo (you know, the guy who basically invented the anime space opera. Yamato and Captain Harlock) and Daft Punk.

So no, your fake video game band that plays other people's music while you push buttons on a plastic guitar is not better than a fake anime band created by a real, awesome guy and a couple of awesome pretend robots from France.

Not this time. Anime wins this time. It hurts, but it's true.

DR3 is a semi-open world game. It still have the combo weapon mechanics and the stats upgrades. You get points to spend at level up. You can also do combo vehicles since it takes place in a city. It's fun with a coop partner but they've removed the tension from Dead Rising. The time limits are really generous and they added a bunch of collect-a-ton. You have safehouses everywhere around the map and once you craft/find a weapon you have an infinite supply of them in your supply locker at any safehouse. The only restriction is that your locker has a cooldown. Once you pick enough weapons from it to drain the supply bar it needs to cooldown so you can pick more stuff from it.

Bought it early on when it was released and played with a friend from start to finish. In coop enemies don't even scale I believe so it's even easier. Had a great time but as a Dead Rising game it's not so good.

Fantastic choice. I wish there were more longform music videos like Interstella 5555, but I guess that's part of what makes the whole thing special. It's got Matsumoto's touches all over it, but the spirit of Discovery comes through very strongly. I can't listen to the album without seeing the film in my head.

I couldn't get into it but I really want to, I still have it installed so I could get back to it when I'm actually in the mood for it.

I think I just didn't like the whole picking up items and crafting aspect and you start without much inventory space, and you also start with not much combat moves, then there're all those escorting

Definitely one of my favourite collaborations of all time. Every time I think about one I want to see or hear the other.
