I don't hate on bioware, and I want to like Andromeda, and I didn't have a serious problem with how animations in ME1-2 and DAI were.

But I played for 30 minutes of Andromeda early access yesterday before going to bed, and facial animations in every cutscene looked jarringly bad/out of place in each and every one of them. NPCs eyes are dead half the time, staring at one spot (and not always there the other person's head they're talking to is). Sadly my first impression so far is it seems the team behind it (they gave us Omega DLC for ME3, FYI) just lacked the techical skill to pull off this game.

This continues to be weird for me because I actually enjoy most things.

I think you misinterpreted the meaning behind my "everything is shit" comment in the TV thread.

It actually spawns from this thread and you hating every game tho. Then I noticed a similar pattern in the tv thread and thus, deduced you are dead inside.

I would love to know what goes in the minds of developers (small indy ones like these or big "proper" ones, doesnt matter) when they decide to introduce ridiculous out of the blue difficulty spikes. Hell the one in Echoes isnt even a spike, its a spear thats been dipped in boiling poison shot by a cannon.

It actually ruined the game for me, and I was shilling hard for it a few weeks ago. It also shattered my new found "hey maybe I shouldnt dismiss RPG maker games out right" stance... sorry Dusk :3

Ive said many times I am a Laharl fan, not necessarely a Disgaea fan. I only finished the first one, I played a bit of the second and was "who the fuck is this pretty boy?" and dropped it.

not actually because of that, just stopped playing it for whatever reason back then

My gaming hates all have roots, though:

1) Is it Serious Sam?

2) Is it Sony?

If you can answer yes to either of those, then I'm probably going to be pretty negative about it in here. Any increase in seeing that play out is directly related to how much either is being talked about. I practically never seek it out.

The TV one is weirder, because I don't really hate any TV show and certainly haven't displayed it much in that thread. I think the only show I've really torn apart is Slasher. The TV thread is intentionally fairly cold and indifferent as industry people post there, especially so a few years ago. It has to be emotionally detached because cancellation is a necessary evil.

The disappointment just keeps growing.

I stopped playing the second game right after I met Axel. Not because of him, but because my disc snapped in two.

I have a deep hatred of Serious Sam, so much that I almost refused to play The Talos Principle. Glad I didn't though; one of the best games I've ever played.

friends list isnt exactly a ringing endorsement. I mean, I have iosefe and jawmuncher on my friends list, so, you know.

No scratch that... I have Hero Prinny on my friends list. Good lord, how low can someone go :/

I don't know what anyone expected from BioWare after their last three games. I am a little surprised though that the production value side of things seems to be off. While a lot of AAA games tend to be shallow and make significant compromises to reach that mainstream audience, you can usually expect a high bar in terms of production values (animation quality, voice acting, lip-syncing, visuals, and so-on).

yea that's fair, i just don't enjoy seeing ppl relish on what in a better world should be an awesome game
