Evoland 2 is really good.
It's sad the game didn't get so much success, because it totally deserves it. Much better than many Final Fantasty, there's a good amount of secondary contents and the title never gets boring because it switches formula very often, going from a Megaman section to a Double Dragon one.

Really, really worth.

This offends me more than anything Battleborn related so far, I can't believe they shipped that hunk of plastic in a box and were okay with it.

So I've got a couple of hours to kill before going out for the evening and thought @gee I haven't popped my head in GAF for a while'. Hopped on over to Gaming side to see what's the rumpus these days and the very first thread I see is titled '21:9 makes absolutely no sense in gaming'. Urghhhhhhhh!!! I think I'll just put the telly on instead. How you folks all doing anyway?

lol @ some people in that dota 2 thread trying to act like the game isn't complicated.

I rage quit that game the moment I found out you had to buy healing items and have some donkey deliver it you in the middle of battle. That alone made it the most complicated game I ever played in my life.

Can't tell if sarcasm. But it's actually a super easy game to pickup.

In all fairness, it doesn't always has to be a donkey. Here's my small collection :3

Super easy to pick up? Nan bruh. Minecraft is easy to pick up. Super Mario bros is easy to pick up. Dota 2? No question its the most complicated game and RTS to pick up. Way too much shit in that game to master before you are actually fully enjoying it. Ain't nobody got time for that.

So I bought the Nick Zootopia Disney Infinity figure for my brother. He plays the Windows 10 version, and it was the character he wanted. Not knowing that Judy and Nick were the set where they stopped PC support. I misread awhile back and thought Judy and Nick were the last added characters. With the Marvel Battlegrounds and the Alice in Wonderland figures being the content PC wouldn't get. Now i'm gonna have to go through hell to fight with disney support on getting my brother a replacement code of some kind for another character. Since there was no indication on the box that said the character was unsupported. It actually even comes with the digital redeem code.

Damn, that's awful :(
hope you're able to trade it.

KenOD

So is Battleborn a bad game or do people just like Overwatch better?

I've been under a rock for about a month

It has some issues that kept me from enjoying it.

Biggest issue was just an uneven difficulty balance that only popped up at the end of a 30 to 50 minute mission and usually destroyed the team I was on causing me to have to replay the entire mission over again from the very start (no checkpoints). This was compounded by the fact that the moment the mission ended, everyone was kicked out and I had to search for new people rather than repeating with the same ones that obviously knew the map and could try and figure it out.
It also just wasn't that satisfying combat wise. It's not Borderlands, but it's that same kind of shooting and you know numbers are being taken off, and in this game that means sometimes specials or weapons don't feel all that powerful or useful.

I think a good game is in there with some patches, but it's not there yet and I rather just play some Unreal Tournament mods that replicate the same idea of "defeat a horde" or "escort this from A to B" or "defend object".

If your girlfriend wants the game so much, then make her join the stream and help the channel grow?

KenOD here supplying his whole family with OW codes. Meanwhile I'm sitting here freaking broke and depressed watching a long 12 hour stream and hoping for an OW code like an idiot, not knowing/predicting repeat winners like KenOD destroying my chances.

I'm sorry you feel depressed, but I assure you it was not malicious intent on my part to win again and destroy all hope of others. My girlfriend actually has watched the stream before on her own (she's into League of Legends) and I have several friends I brought in who not just watched the stream, but were in that chat that day attempting as well. I do want their channel to grow.

I will be doing a giveaway soon here on GAF and hopefully there will be something you can take from that and enjoy, even if no Overwatch.

The tutorial and interface make the game easier to pick up nowadays. We even have recommended item builds and skill order for each hero. The number of heroes and spell interactions make the game hard to learn.

That being said, it is very rare to enjoy playing Dota2, because most players either don't know the hero spells correctly (low skill) or don't understand what teamplay means (higher skill but playing like a solo RPG). Typical anger into regret reaction after playing:

I've had mostly good experiences with rated games though, at higher lvls it sort of becomes more team oriented.

That being said, I almost always grouped with a bunch of cyka blyats at least once a day - which would ruin my mood.

It is only consistently enjoyable above at least 3.5K MMR, basically above the median MMR. Between 3K and 3.5K, it is kind of okay, but you occasionally meet some game throwers who just ruin the game in the last 5 minutes.

So I would say that more than 50% of the player base are not enjoying the game.

I understand the basics of Dark Souls 1 combat

DotA and LoL are overly complicated arena combat fighter that are complicated for no good reason and their respective communities are perpetual tire fires.

I know i'am not smart enough to understand MOBAs but in all honesty, learning to play Toribash is less sanity destroying then whatever DotA and LoL's pile of nothing that is their tutorials.

Fuck DotA and LoL's popularity bullshit.

It does, which is why you use shotgun for quicker effect. I hate how the robot doesn't react to any of the shots he's taken, making you doubts whether you hit him or not.

So...Heavenstrike Rivals is pretty fun.

Time to say goodbye to Hearthstones.

Oh. Thats the same as the phone game huh. Wonder if it will be more popular on pc

The dota 2 devs have actually done a great job removing or updating the needlessly complicated mechanics from dota while adding great qol improvements and items that add a lot to the complexity of the game. Its been really impressive to see

Stick with your casual ass shit like Dark Souls then!

The insanity that Dark Souls players enjoy sounds great. If you're smart enough to understand the message of Dark Souls, then you, too, can act like you know what you're talking about.

DotA and LoL players have a TimeCube kind of insanity that only a stupid person could enjoy. The worst part is some people get paid to play those games. The same goes with Counter Strike/Call of Duty/Metal Gear Solid players.

lmao @ "The devs are continuing to improve the DotA gameplay!" incongruity detected. If I still had DotA on my Steam, I would challenge you and the most patient people you know to help me learn DotA, no public players at all.

haven't played much doto but their tutorial was really bad (please last hit 15 times for me, now go and kill this turret, now go and kill this other turret... omg), and league's is just silly (recommends buying thornmail on ashe and isn't even played on summoner's rift -___-)

so yeah, the barrier of entry is gigantic and the tutorials are terrible, so far we're good

but saying it's complicated for no good reason is kind of weak

at least in league, almost every gameplay element or mechanic plays a role in every single game. you deal with lane assignments, composition, item builds, power spikes, ganking, objective control, damage types, scaling, neutral objectives, shotcalling, teamfighting, farming, warding, trading, etc. all in every single game. every time you win or lose it's because someone played those things better. and these games get updated a lot so you also have to keep up with buffs and nerfs and general gameplay changes

it's not necessarily elegant and sure there's some dumb stuff about mobas, but the nuisance is what makes them interesting, it's a neverending skill ceiling and there's always something to learn.

it's not about being smart, it's about being commited, and mobas demand really high levels of commitment out of you. but i figured out enough to play the game with my friends in like a few games and after then it's just learning something new every time i play, trying to fix mistakes, expanding my champion pool, trying new builds, etc.

i don't know why you would go as far as saying that mobas are for stupid people, sounds to me like you're just not willing to put in the work or going at it from a bad angle, like saying pro players shouldn't be paid for their work or whatever. that's not the correct way to approach these things, if a game's is complicated you need to first understand it to be able to criticize it, let alone condemn their entire playerbase. if not your opinion is just not really worth anything, you're just saying that that mobas have bad tutorials and really high barriers of entry, and that's saying nothing new

i've given you the reasonable response above, you decide if you wanna actually converse
