STEAM | November 2014 - Ride of the Valkyries

I really hope Ubisoft comes back to Steam and doesn't pull an EA, I've always preferred Steam due to the Unity it provides.

But I guess that's going to have to change now :(

Isoefe is hamming it up too much, I bet he's actually a horse expert, but just playing it up like a Fox News personality.

Why Kickstarter?
We at Sekai Project have decided to use Kickstarter because the cost of not only providing a professional, top-quality translation for 50+ hours of gameplay, but also covering licensing royalties, developing costs as well as the voices of many of the industry’s top Japanese voice actresses is quite a monumental task and we need your help! As visual novels still only occupy the hearts of a small group of gamers and anime fans overseas, localizing and translating such an epic comes with many risks, and now is our chance to show Key and other amazing visual novel companies together how much we want to enjoy their games in English!

30 dollar early bird for the steam release.
Regular price will be 40.

Like I said earlier, I still can't take the $7,000 tier seriously. "This shikishi is totally worth $6,000 upgrade over the last tier, you guys. Look at it!"

I'm sure someone will go for it though.

I've seen a few people mention Snowpiercer, which is an excellent movie. It's on Netflix now, which makes it easy to recommend to almost everyone.

When you're done with it, watch this (and really, all of the Every Frame a Painting series)

This show, especially The After Story depressed the shit out of me. Lol

I already don't even buy Ubisoft games.

So I will continue to fight the power?

Why is everyone talking about a movie in GAMING THREAD huh? IS THIS A COMMUNITY THREAD NOW? I DONT THINK ANYONE MENTIONED IF IT'S BECOME A COMMUNITY THREAD YET.

who's the person in JaseC's avatar? Who's Xelios?

I blind bought snowpiercer and it was bad but in an interesting way. It reminded me of Equilibrium. take that how you will.

also, it's great to see that the Binding of Isaac rebirth thread is on fire in gaming. That game deserves the hype it's getting, and it's nice to see the stubborn shitty people who for some godforsaken reason keep asking for Knack as the free ps+ game every month having to eat that delicious crow once they give isaac a shot.

just sucks for poor luftrausers and steamworld dig, who aren't getting any love because BOIR is taking the world by storm.

I dunno if this is the right thread (apologies if it isn't), but I have some of those adult swim coupons that I don't plan on using before they expire on the 11th of this month. If you need one, lemme know.

- 85% OFF Aaaaa! -- A Reckless Disregard for Gravity

Holy shit, new Ubisoft games are off Steam in the US as well? I thought it was a UK only thing, what happens to the folks that already bought it on Steam?

damn that was amazing. Thanks for linking that. I'll watch the rest now.

I think it's quite funny that despite me noticing that both Far Cry 4 and Unity had upped and done one of the UK Storefront 3 months ago that only just now are the press getting involved. In fact if PCGamesN hadn't published an article I very much doubt Eurogamer, CVG, RPS, Videogamer, MCV, Kotaku UK, VG24/7 or Digital Spy would had said anything about it. Yeah the games media are in perfect shape with the way the aggregate news from one another like some hideous media-centipede. They've had months to look into this but only when someone else does a bit of work do they all put something up.

(Bit late to the party, but screw it). Hell I had commented about that ages ago. It's ridiculous, not only are they expecting me to shell out £50 but now they're limiting where that £50 is pissed away.

I'm surprised they were so sudden about it though, considering they had 3 pretty big releases upcoming.

Contrary to what some sites have reported, the games weren't yanked from the UK store; rather, they've never been available to purchase at all. Honestly, I think the entire back half of this thing has been a carnival of stupid in a teacup: one Ubi employee added the games to the UK store without knowing they're supposed to be unavailable and another mistakenly yanked them worldwide instead of just from the UK store.

Brah you came off too forced in your disinterest. Be a little more natural, skeptical, and don't feel you have to say anything because other people are listening.

i don't think it was forced disinterest, i was actually slightly interested, as you saw near the end where i went off to the races.

also i have to be heading out the door soon

I hope you're right. Thankfully, it's only really the Division I have some interest in just now, so I won't be too heartbroken either way.

You kept going "wow this is bad/who plays this/is this so not fun/etc." in an awkward and sarcastic tone.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you actually made me cringe during the whole thing.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Man, Crow is such a letdown.
Another sad case of style over substance.

I thought it was a great movie, and Brandon Lee yo...

Oh, games.

i think it's more confusion, probably because i went in head first without the tutorial. i honestly had no idea what to do with things, but it felt nice to figure things out

The Crew, Unity and Far Cry 4 were available to purchase in the UK when the store pages first went up. They quickly rectified it and we got the same message that all the previous games pre-release gave.

The only way Ubi can redeem itself is by having an epic Humble Bundle like Origin/EA did. I actually use Origin now on a limited basis since that bundle.

Maybe I will only buy Ubi games on console going forward, or not at all.

I really feel like I might have jumped unto PC gaming at the wrong time?

With the 3 different clients, with Ubisoft seemingly removing their games from Steam, with no exclusives showing off the power of the latest technology like Crysis did back in the days.

That said, I love all the sales, and some of the exclusive projects going on like Star Citizen and Kingdom Come but when first stepped into PC gaming this summer, I were surprised to see some games like Assassin's Creed not being optimized for PC, as I had the impression of all 3rd party games would run best on PC.

Anyway, I love PC gaming. :)

Ubisoft has the selfawareness of a dog licking its own bum in public. It's just another day in the Carnaval de Ubisoft.

On the contrary, more and more developers have been coming out with PC ports(Even the Japanese who have steered clear of PC in the past), and PC offers the most games of any platform.

Ah, right. Nonetheless, the underlying point remains: their unavailability is not a recent occurrence.

For those interested, I just released Idle Master 0.5 which *should* work with the new badge page layout.

https://github.com/jshackles/idle_master

As always, let me know if something's still broken. I was finally able to get enough cards to test it and it's working here. Idle Master is a bit unlike Enhanced Steam as it's a lot harder to test functionality using an account other than my own.

Finally read the final 2 chapters of Naruto. After years of wanting it to end. Now I don't want it to :(

and what a finale , it was ... WTF was it ?
kishimoto just throw some fan fiction in the last moment and called that a finale
what happen to the others ?

really disappointing

This is true and the generation is only in it's infancy. It'll be multi-plat heavy with the PC receiving a lot more love than before.

Doesn 1 person have the ability to pull them worldwide? Do developers have the ability to just pull their games off of Steam without contacting Valve?

And you'd think if that was the case, Ubisoft would have issued a statement and corrected the problem by now.
