shadownet, check your PM please.
Pm you back. Also I rode an elephant before. It wasn't as fun as I thought. But then again I didn't have a gun in my hand so thats probably why.

Yeah those extra content like the Chemical Revolution pack rarely turn out to be worth it. But the real treat is being able to buy the game AND the season pass together, and buying it from India/Mexico Origin save you a big chunk of money.

So I have good news and bad news.

Good news is the requirement specs for Far Cry 4 isn't as extensive as AC:Unity so if Unity turn out to be poorly optimized and require those crazy specs. I might just spend the money on Far Cry 4 instead. So that an alternative.

The bad news is I'm all out of pumpkin pie.

happy birthday sir :)

Just a couple more posts salazar and something magic happens ;)

Since we've all decided that uplay is the future, I suggest everyone head over the the Ubi general forums to check out the scene there - http://forums.ubi.com/forumdisplay.php/191-General-Discussion (edit - they cleaned it up. It was full of bot spam about how to hire escorts and buy cheap shit and what not)

Meanwhile the main thread discussing this on the gaming side makes my head hurt. It's like there are always people waiting in the shadows to take potshots at Valve no matter what the case may be.

My favorite is the "Oh this is a good thing, maybe Valve will start making games again" response. Valve has had a prolific output of games and content over the past 7 years. Far more than most companies including GAF darlings like Naughty Dog or pretty much any studio that isn't pushing out annual games. I guess that's their problem. They support their games for years with free content instead of selling it over and over every year.

Hahaha hey Valve aren't above reproach if they cock things up and they get the ire from certain sections more than other companies but the majority of the time it's just. Someone brought up in the AssCreed shaving foam promo thread that if it was a Naughty Dog game promo most of the posters would be already running down the shops to shave their nether regions.

Japanese publishers are too dumb for that.

Have you ever tried to set up a Konami ID? *shudders*

I'm not sure you won't regret those words, as of latest developments it would seem that's what SE plans to do in the near future, what I think is much sillier than not having an own client, when there is no need for it.
You mean the western part of SE was planning it :p

And also lol at SE pulling an EA with that kind of backlog, unless it's a new gen Deus Ex (not MMO).

The gold editions have the season pass included in addition to a few extra bits and bobs. In my experience those extras are rarely, if ever, worth the price premium. Here's what's included in the FC4 season pass. No mention of elephant riding early.

edit - according to the all knowing Australian, there aren't any extras.

I ninja-edited to clarify that the content being the same (Season Pass aside) is contingent upon pre-ordering. FC4's pre-order incentives are the Hurk missions, for example, which happen to also make up the Limited Edition bonus content that the Gold Edition includes by default:

The Hurk Monkey Business missions were some of the best for Far Cry 3 I found. Was an actual worth while promo bit of 'ULC' for Oobee

Quiet you! That's not something nice :(

I wonder if there's a Korean version of Football Manager 2015. Korean isn't listed as a support language on the store page, however there's no Korean-specific app listed in the registry (for the moment, at least).

reposting from the Talos Principle thread

Judging by the public test, the game seems pretty cool, I'm stuck at the last puzzle.
I got the fan alright but can't figure out a way to open the other two doors. Putting the connector on the fan doesn't seem to work for me either, it's always a slight bit off center.

There must be an approach I'm not seeing so a hint would be appreciated.

edit: nevermind, I figured it out
the fan has multiple uses

I'd be happy for a Pinnacle Station reappearance and nothing else. Then I can feel complete, well after I buy all the bloody Bioware points I need for the other nick knacks.

It will sell by the truckload.

Hey SteamGAF, I've got a question for you. I need LEGO Harry Potter in my life, except someone decided I couldn't have it and removed it from my sweet EU2 region store.

So I'm wondering, what if I buy a steam key from another site (isthereanydeal is telling me the cheapest one right now is at GamesRepublic; never bought anything from them, are they reliable?) and add it to my account? Will I be able to play it even thought it's not available for my region?
Would it be safer to get it as a gift from someone in the US (or anywhere else the game is actually purchasable) via steam itself?

The Gold Editions are just game + Season Pass bundles (and cost exactly the same as buying the two individually). For the first time ever they don't include exclusive content*.

* Provided you pre-order.

Thanks for the info you guys and gals.
Yetis sound tempting though, but I'll grab Ass Creed China when Origin has it for less than $15 @3@

At best I think my lappy could run AssCreed Unity @ 30 FPS like Mordor.

Wish FC4 had a third person view option though, I wanna SEE myself riding an elephant and wrecking shit.

Which of the Lego series is worth playing? There are so many varieties, are they of equal quality and gameplay or are some preferred over others?

Generally speaking there are two rules of thumb - the more recent the game the better, and the more you like the license the better. Lego Marvel is fantastic if you like the Marvel Universe, lots and lots to unlock and an open world to roam between levels. The Lego Star Wars Complete Saga is good for Star Wars fans, Star Wars 3 is better in a technical sense but the levels are based on the Clone Wars so your mileage may vary. Lego Batman 2 is better than the first, but Lego 3 is coming out soon so you may want to hold out for that. Lord of the Rings is also decent, made me nice and nostalgic for the films. In terms of the lower quality games I think the Indy ones are probably my least favourite. They're all generally good fun if you like what they're based on though.

CD Keys for LEGO Harry Potter don't seem to have any lock. No idea how reliable gamesrepublic is, I only got free games from them.^^

so, uhm.. how long it takes until you receive verification email for WRC Powerslide so you can play multiplayer? after couple of hours im starting to think it wont come at all

made a new registration using gmail now and the verification link came within 2 minutes. apparently it doesnt take just any email.. (same with wrc4 or motoGP13)

edit: still cant access the MP ingame though. even the leaderboards are down, it says the online service is unavailable.. well.. so much for the MP.

If there's no restriction in the key you buy (usually restrictions are reported in each store page), you will play it without problems.

Thanks guys, I'll read the store page carefully and hope for the best :)

It basically depends on your passion about the original material. Aside from that, LEGO Marvel is one of the best since it has a load of characters, unlockables, great graphics and a very nice open world area that is fully unlocked towards the end of the game. If you're also into Marvel comics, or even just the movies, it's a must have. I hear The Hobbit is also very good and in general every single one is about the same quality level and has the same core gameplay. As a general rule with each passing year they become bigger and better, although there are exceptions (LEGO Movie is the shortest and has the less bonus content, although it remains pretty enjoyable).
The gameplay is very simple, there's no real challenge (you can't even really die) but it really shines in local co-op, otherwise the main attraction shifts to the end-game with all the unlocking to do and the humour. That is, if you're into that kind of stuff, unlocking cool characters, vehicles and stuff.

I found Lord of the Rings the only one providing some variations, but yes, the game are all pretty much the same stuff.

^ Thanks. Wouldn't usually consider the series, but since they were on sale thought I'd ask which ones might be worth looking into.

Also saw this game - Deep Dungeons of Doom. It's a recent indie fighter that looked kinda fun, wonder if anyone here has played it.

good game :)

There's another puzzle after that if you collect the stars.
Played the Talos Principle Public Test.
speaking of the talos principle, the shadows look kind of poop

maybe there's a setting i haven't found
I got about 30 FPS also which was disappointing. Gonna go check out the thread now.

It's the best thing Croteam has done.
Yeah I thought it was pretty interesting. From what I see it's borrowing a fair bit from other games (
Braid, Portal
spring to mind) but running with the ideas much further.
