I must be the only one who doesn't care at all about Steam Controller.

I'm with you. Why do I need to spend 50€, than config each game to use the pad, while I can spend less and buy a One controller, insert it in my usb port, and it's done?
Yeah, I can't use it on games like Cities Skylines, but honestly I would play them with keyboard and mouse, since those games were done with that control system in mind.
Also Steam controller doesn't implement the possibility to charge your pad while playing like DS4, you need to use batteries.

I'm kind of tempted to get those Borderlands 2 skin packs since they're so cheap, but they haven't had a decent discount in a long time and they're suddenly at their all time low on Steam. I don't know if that means discounts will be more frequent now or if I should grab them while they're cheap in case they don't go on sale again for a while.

They designed it to be compatible with the entirety of Steam's library (and even outside of it), which makes it technically a candidate to replace any traditional controller This excuse of "it's been designed for kb&m games" doesn't hold any water.

I'm not sure why you think being designed for kb&m games is some kind of excuse. That's literally what the steam controller is for. Valve is having a huge initiative to move PC gaming into the living room, and to that end they decided to come up with an input device that worked better in that environment than awkwardly balancing a keyboard and mouse on your lap while sitting on a couch.

That may not be something that you have ever had a problem with, either because you don't play kb&m games from your couch, or because you don't mind using a keyboard in that situation. If that is the case, a steam controller isn't meant for you, and you shouldn't buy one. That doesn't somehow invalidate the purpose of the steam controller though.

If you're compelled to config each game to use the Steam controller, I'm not sure why you wouldn't be as compelled to do the same thing with an Xbox controller other than by choice. They both only need as much configuring as you want if you want standard gamepad input, for as little as you care about that, everything the Steam controller would then offer you is additive.

Steam's pretty smart when you start up a game with a Steam Controller. If it has native support or had a developer made profile it will load that, if it has been flagged as having controller support it will load up the default Xinput control set, if it's labeled as a mouse and keyboard title it will ask you to either select one of the 3 defaults (gamepad, gamepad with precision aim ie mouse or mouse and keyboard). You can also go check out community posted bindings which are on the same menu and ranked by popularity as in how many user have them set.

This can be perfect as is and you can play the game from there or you can use them as a base and tweak things as you like. If you find that you use a specific set of binding for various games but they're not standard you can actually copy the .vdf file into your bindings defaults folder and then it becomes a 4th default binding for easy selection. Pretty easy and offers a lot of control at the same time.

Soooo wots the safest to use, KeePass or LastPass? I recall one of them being hacked recently, but I'm not sure how big a deal that really is if they're using good encryption and hashing. What's the best, most reliable one in peoples' experience? I know I've asked something like this before, but after the recent hack, I'm interested to hear opinions.

... And also because I'm tired of having to remember dozens of semi-randomized passwords, currently unable to get onto my sodding Microsoft account. -_-

Steam-GAF's Official Ambassador to Gaming-GAF
Vermintide reaches 300,000 sales, celebrates with Free DLC. Talks future DLC

Heroes!

To celebrate 300 000 sold copies of Vermintide, we are announcing our first free content DLC - Sigmar's Blessing.

Set to come out on the 3rd of December, this DLC will introduce a number of new features including player control of what loot is dropped in-game and a new altar in the Inn, that provides ways of sacrificing existing loot to improve players arsenal.

In addition to this, the DLC will include completely new traits added to the loot tables and new, unique weapon drops in the “red” loot class for each of the 40 weapon types in Vermintide. Each red weapon features a set trait combination, taking top tier gameplay to a new level.

We will, of course, continue to work on fixing bugs and optimizing the game with continuous patches.

For more information, go to: http://www.vermintide.com/dlc-plans-2015/

Aside from this first DLC, Fatshark is separately planning on adding a private mode, for players wanting the challenge of facing off against the Skaven alone! Realism mode is also on the way, removing the game HUD, crosshairs and more to create a truly immersive and authentic (and hardcore!) experience for particularly skilled Vermintide fans. Last but not least, Fatshark will be adding a survival mode to the game, allowing players to take on endless waves of ever-increasing enemies. How long will you be able to last against the deadly Skaven hordes?

Why even buy a PC at all?

You have to buy the parts, configure the OS, OC everything. I can just buy a PS4.

I know what it was designed for. To be compatible with the entire Steam catalog, which is going to include games best played with a traditional controller. You should be able to play anything with it, including twin stick shooters, fighting games etc. So when people criticize it for not being good as a tradititional controller for those type of games, people say "but it was designed for kb&m games" and they think of RTS, older games etc.

I wonder how far fallout 4 will get. I wonder what game will do 1,000,000 as well

Half-Life 3

Dota 2 might, since Valve has started to consolidate their servers and cut out the middlemen (They just cut out... Nexon, I think?)

If they had players from both Perfect World and Nexons servers on Steam, you'd likely see over a mil concurrent, or so I imagine.

Edit: And I see Dota 2 reached that ages ago. Nevermind. lol

KeePass is the one that is recommended (Google cache link).

There is a better way, make your password a long string of words. Easier to remember than a string of number and letters and harder to brute force due to the length.

Laughing Griefs Smiled Sweetly Around The Meadow

Throw in a couple of symbols and a number to make it real difficult to brute force, even though largely irrelevant at this point.

YFW one of my investment brokers and my bank allows less than 35 characters.

Can't wait for a good Fallout 4 + Season Pass deal.

Most successful launch ever on Steam, going to be waiting for a while.

Also, region locks..
Mad at steam right now.

Not only region locks but there are games where you just flat out can't purchase that includes both some AAAs like Bethesda's catalogue and some indie stuff like FEZ. There is no consistency at all. Not even the generic "Not Available in your region!" warning popup appears, some games just can't be purchased.

So yeah, the fuck Valve...

Speaking of Humblebundle, I've been looking at "Humble Bundle (soon)" at least since yesterday, I think. I thought "soon" meant "several hours", apparently not.

Looks like some Korean prices are completely out of whack, for example TrackMania Complete Pack is less than a dollar. I've made a page to find all price glitches easily: https://steamdb.info/priceglitches/

Threshold is set at 79% currently.

They are taking 2 weeks off. You might be waiting a while.

This interests me.

I've finally decided to finish dark souls and, wow, bed of chaos really sucks :/

Bed of Chaos is the worst boss puzzle of the game.

this change is weird some games have their prices missing for no reason like Final Fantasy III (the others are okay). and for no good reason Paypal is removed. I cant get it why remove Paypal

Can't beat lashbot even if you made it yourself. Pretty cool, but only for people who are logged in it seems so I cant see it.

Ha, didn't see he linked my tweet already. Login is done via Steam, so it's trivial to login.
