whoa, do you mind sharing your build?

My machine is all old workstation/server gear that was bought from companies at pennies on the dollar. And then I hawk those guys.

CPU:
Dual X5667 (3.06 Ghz (turbos to 3.46Ghz)) *this is similar to Sandy Bridge i5-i7*
I wanted to get X5690s but the price never ever budged under $250 per CPU. Not going to overpay on 10% better single-threaded perf.

Video Card:
AMD Radeon R9 290 (bought this from someone who claimed it was from a failed LAN center but most likely endured hell for five months mining crytocurrency)

Memory:
RAM: 96GB PC3 10600 ECC Reg 2x4R half-height (this ram is basically only made for IBM blades as far as I can tell. Still works in machines that can accommodate the specs.)

Dell T7500 barebones chassis:

Motherboard:
Intel 5520 series

PSU:
Dell 1100 Watt

HDD:
4x1TB which I had leftover from my other build (I didn't include that in the $650 price.)

RAID card:
3ware 9550SXU-4LP (got this for $8! Felt bad for the guy at that price. But PCIX (note: not PCI-e) doesn't sell well at all really. Thankfully because I have a server/workstation motherboard I still have an available 64bit PCI bus.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is $5 on Nuuvem, beating that Gamestop price then. But then, it could be region locked.

Thanks guys.

Just beat Dragon Age Inquistion. Took me 30 hours to do so. However I have a fast playstyle so I don't think many people will go through it that fast. Especially if you're a fan of exploring and doing quests which this game greatly provides. Been ages since I played DA1 & 2 so can't really compare to those, but regardless it was a good time and worth the price with the amount of content there.

That was fast, I'm still doing sidequests at Crestwood and haven't even killed a dragon yet :))

Why were you rushing it :(

Yeah, I'm on twice that amount of time and still haven't finished. :p

Doubt I'll do much more side stuff though. Really does start to get dull at the 50-60hours mark personally. Not because the map designs are bad, the areas look great, just because there isn't really any story to them besides a few small exceptions.

If I do a second playthrough I'll just do the critical path.

Have really enjoyed eitherway. Definitely my GOTY.

That's just how I play and the way I find the most enjoyable.
I've never been a big guy on exploring and such, since it starts to just feel like a job to me.
One of the main reason's I can't really enjoy Bethesda RPGs. Really appreciated all the work they put in to support different playstyles though and how they ease you into exploring and getting power for the missions.

Well, I can't easily play the more recent Bethesda games either, for the same reason. I tolerate them better in Dragon Age because I care more about the world. Probably due to there being good characters and story which you see quite a bit of. Unlike say Skyrim where the story is not that good, and you don't see characters enough to care about them much really.

All of that definitely plays a big part in my enjoyment of DA.
Since it's much more focused in those regards as you said.

Nuvvem checks your paypal account's region, so yeah.

I don't understand why they go through all that effort.
Must be some law or something.

Also, am I crazy or did I read somewhere that sales in the Autumn sale will also be in the Winter sale? Tempted to get Evil Within but I already have a lot on my plate right now, do I don't know if I should wait or not.

For the most part that's how it works.
So EW should be there again.

until it isnt and you go "aw man". of course you could buy it now and then its cheaper on xmas and you go "aw man". both cases are not likely, with the lower price on xmas less likely

So to GMG to check if TEW deal was up and realized that I have 13.21 in unused credits, got all giddy and then remembered that the vouchers no longer work with credit :(
Getting the new Lara Croft game for a couple of cents would have been really sweet...

Konami prefers to pretend that Homecoming doesn't exist.

DR2, RE5, OTR all early next year.
I'm guessing SFIV, LP Colonies Edition and LP2 aren't getting it removed since they don't have any discount again... should get them ASAP in case they get removed.

Gamestop also has SAW on sale for $5. Steam key apparently. It's not on Steam anymore.

You can't buy it.
I can buy it, it's restricted to the American continent only since it has the "AllowPurchaseFromRestrictedCountries" flag set to yes and "PurchaseRestrictedCountries" flag set to United States, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Panama, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador.

dammit, wanted the evil within but money is on hold for like 15 more days
Stop being a (travelling) hobo and get a proper credit card :p

As for Jurassic World. Everything I have wanted so far from what that trailer is promising.
Have watched it more than 20 times already. That final part with the theme going, so good.
Friendly advice, avoid the trailer thread :(

That nuuvem Wolf TNO is tempting.

edit: Not anymore.
oh, can't buy wolfenstein from my region on nuuvem.

phew 16bucks saved.
Until tomorrow!
It's going to be on sale for $16 at GMG, The Evil Within will be as well.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
I actually liked Duke Nukem Forever. I even played through the DLC. The game's "classic" core mixed with the occasional modern game design trope made for an oddly enjoyable experience.

Edit: That being said I don't think I could have stomached the game if the PC version hadn't had its concurrent weapon limit upped from 2 to 4.

Someone else who liked Duke for what it was. JaseC. I'm buying you a game that you don't own. Seriously.

Most of my pennies are being saved for the Winter Sale. ;) But I am going to jump on The Long Dark and Necrodancer since, being Early Access indies, they may not show up again as featured deals.

Only if you're in Asia, but you can get around that using a VPN. It's just an activation restriction, so once the game has has been activated you can ditch the VPN.
Great, I'm in the US so I guess I'm clear either way. Thanks for clarifying that for me!

Have most of them, but was happy to add Momodora III to my WL.
Thanks.
No problem! Glad to help.

If only Shadowrun Dragonfall were getting the deep discount.
There's always the winter sale, believe
lol

I did too... but I played it on x360 with the 2 weapon limit. On one of the harder difficulties. :\

Is Metal Gear Rising region locked? It's going for $5 at Nuuvem if not.

Whew, glad I held off from buying it from Gamestop! Hopefully nuuvem accepts Asian payment sources unlike Gamestop.
edit: oh fuck they check Paypal region? Goddamnit looks like I need to find someone to buy it for me.
edit2: managed to purchase it with an Asian Paypal account using a US VPN to their site in order to add it to my cart

Been using Steam for the past 3 weeks now, the user experience for installing and launching games is very good, I'm rather surprised, consoles have nothing over it, IMO. However the region restrictions are terribly lame (I live in Japan, so I suppose it should only be natural to be unable buy any Japanese games /s).

I'm also terrible annoyed with their customer service. I tried to buy the Farcry Franchise bundle last week and since they don't accept my credit card, set it up pay using bank transfer. Bad idea, I should have just paid using a convenience store or something, the transfer failed and I received no explanation from anyone, I filed a support ticket about the problem, asking if I could change payment options, and 5 days later, I finally get a response telling me to delete everything in my Steam folder except for the steamapps folder. It was as if he didn't even read my request. I followed the procedure, and as expected it did no good, so I sent a reply clarifying that the issue was with the payment and nothing else. I wait another 3 days and receive a message telling me to disable extensions in my browser and try again. Of course by this time Steam had already canceled my purchase for failure to pay.

Incredibly frustrating.
