I actually have no idea what the gameplay is about :lol, was in it for the story, there were a few story driven games that I didn't like very much either recently, hope I'll like valiant hearts

the gameplay is mostly puzzle solving and just walking from point A to B while avoiding *insert something that could kill you here*

the puzzles frustrated me a lot.. maybe i'm just not good with puzzle games but i basically had to look up walkthroughs for many of the puzzles.

That's pretty weird, let me know what you find out. It could be a timing issue - I noticed that a lot of things on Steam are loaded asynchronously now and it could be related to that.

On the off chance this hasn't been made clear yet, I had to same issue of not being able to hide the Steam Curators from the front page and also did not follow any curators. I followed a curator to test, and then ES successfully hid the curator section. I then unfollowed the curator and ES reverted to not hiding the Curators Section.

Officially lost the race against new releases. Still playing Wasteland 2, got few hours into Mordor, Endless Legend is still a thing I need to put some serious hours into. I bought the new Age of Wonders DLC, I've been meaning to try what Total War Rome 2 is a year after its release, Battlefield 4 just got a huge patch and my F1 2013 season is still running. That all would be still be manageable, but I have three games pre-purchased for next week, two for the week after that. Then it's time for Civilization which will consume a hundred hours in a month even if I didn't have a spare hundred hours.

This doesn't happen every year so I guess it's a good problem to have. It's the mid-tier/indie games that didn't exist to such extent even few years ago that caused this. At any other time I would already be super hyped for Grimrock 2 but I just don't have the resources to get hyped right now, it's just sitting in my pre-purchase queue, waiting for the inevitable day it releases and I don't have the time to play it.

Same here, feels like I'm going back to Wasteland 2 at this point in between releases now. Doesn't help tbh that I'm finding the game a slog cos of the bloody combat.

Also still wondering/hoping I can run Alien (probably not TEW )at low settings until I upgrade my rig next year =/

I still hate that developers leave everything for October/November, which leaves summer empty and boring.

This doesn't happen every year so I guess it's a good problem to have. It's the mid-tier/indie games that didn't exist to such extent even few years ago that caused this. At any other time I would already be super hyped for Grimrock 2 but I just don't have the resources to get hyped right now, it's just sitting in my pre-purchase queue, waiting for the inevitable day it releases and I don't have the time to play it.

A 1/3 of the steam catalog has been released in the past 18 months and the rate is escalading. At some point, I was able to play everythng that was coming out, then I was able to buy everything that was coming out to play it afterwards, now I have a backlog of games to buy to put them in my backlog of games to play.

I would have thought "Don't worry it does get better, promise" would suffice

To be fair while it does open up considerably later on and eventually the game stops tutorialising and lets you have free reign the strengths and the fun I got from the game was right there from the start in the battle system. Sure it could have given you the rest of the tools earlier on and offered up some better encounters earlier as well that really made you think but I got enough out of it to plough through to the tipping point in 3 days of play. Which considering I can work 8-12 hours days as well isn't bad with my limited free time.

To be fair while it does open up considerably later on and eventually the game stops tutorialising and lets you have free reign the strengths and the fun I got from the game was right there from the start in the battle system. Sure it could have given you the rest of the tools earlier on and offered up some better encounters earlier as well that really made you think but I got enough out of it to plough through to the tipping point in 3 days of play. Which considering I can work 8-12 hours days as well isn't bad with my limited free time.

I see you rewrote your FF13 introduction, it's probably better this way.
I agree on your assessment that FF13 delivers some fun, I only wish there was something more than battles, it can get tiresome to play.

Yeah, I overindulged in pre-release media for Uncharted 2 and just about spoiled the game for myself as I'd seen a lot of every location except for the final one. Going into Drake's Fortune knowing absolutely nothing other than it was a Naughty Dog game was really rewarding and I went too far in the opposite direction with the sequel.

Why of course it was meant to be a recommendation to entice not put off. What I sent you was a mouthful as it was and that was just my opening gambit! It's a hard game to sum up why you might like it in so many word so I just focused on what I got out of it without getting into spoiler territory.
