As someone who has only played CSS, how does CSGO compare to it? I really like CSS but not a lot of people seem to play it still, so I've been thinking about trying out CSGO.
Played a bit CSS several years ago. CS:GO has much neater game menu, very tied in with market. Plays still very skill-based, so if you liked CSS you should give CS:GO a try
but don't fall into the rabbit hole
It is my birthday but I have stuff to do so I can't actually do anything fun.

Such is life.
HBD rico.

Welp I finally finished Shadow of Mordor. What an underwhelming game. The story was total nonsense and the nemesis system did nothing for me. I don't even remember who my nemesis was at the end, all of the enemies kind of blended together.

The new Master of Orion won't have tactical combat or ship designing.

Just throw your hype meters on the ground, SteamGAF. It's over; the dream is dead.

WHAT?

That doesn't discount the point, though. I expect any Kickstarted project without the backing of a major publisher to be fraught with delays. Nothing in that article suggests a culture of racism, fear or criminal activity. Mismanagement and design ideas that didn't pan out, certainly, but the article doesn't suggest anything about the kind of culture Escapist detailed, despite also having access to several anonymous sources (and waiting for a comment from Roberts, no less).

Has the transformers Devastation thread said how long the game is?
Going from the achievement's, seems it might be short and more focused on replay ability. Which isn't a bad thing, just curious.

I think 4-5 hours.. which is odd since I've seen people say the first level is an hour itself.

I thought there were multiple stages (like 10-15) so either those levels are shorter or there's not as many stages.

I'm telling you man, that game star citizen is taking so long that i honestly thought it wasn't a game, thought it was like some vr thing where you can see ships and shit. I'd be so mad if i kickstarted that game

Basically the same thing but better.

Playing CSS now is sorta like playing vanilla Street Fighter 4 instead of Ultra.

There's no reason to play to CSS over CS:GO

Alright cool~ I'll check it out then. ^^

The only dude I remember from Mordor is Hot Tongz.

Hot Tongs is still the best enemy name ever.

No ship design? That sounds pretty positive actually. Too often ship designing results in a mass of busy work, keeping your fleets and ships up to date due to you getting a new design of laser cannon that's 0.6% more efficient than the previous type. It's really tedious.

I'd vastly prefer fewer, more meaningful choices when it comes to ship design.

I finally finished Assassin's Creed 2! I hate missions that require you to be undetected except when you have to be to get past an area. Now on to Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

It's probably not the popular opinion but I'm 100% with you. Same with other non-space 4x games. I don't mind some customization up to a point but when you have to design everything and keep updating your units every ten minutes, it's way too much work for very little extra fun.

Did people actually dislike Killer is Dead that much? It did seem to have mediocre reception. I played through a few chapters and it's pretty great. The battle system felt shallow at first, but grew up on me later and I like all the crazy quirky stuff (
going to the moon, falling off a ridiculously tall building etc
).

I'm alright enough with the Phantom Pain ending, but
making me play through the prologue again was kind of a waste of time. I'd rather have that as a cut scene.

Fun game, anyhow. I'll probably clean up the remaining missions/side ops later in the year.

It is my birthday but I have stuff to do so I can't actually do anything fun.

Happy birthday, duder.

Or maybe people have gotten used to Platinum games and figured the combat out such they can finish the game faster.
Or they were playing on Easy :V

don't worry about it, best to ignore it. its a "game" thatll come out by 2020 if fans are lucky.

For someone that thought the game was a VR thing where you look ships a shit not 30 minutes ago, I imagine a lot of thought went into this opinion.

Hrm.. never heard of Star Citizen before. Guess it's time to see what all the fuss is about?

The website gives all the needed info, look out for for free play weekends so you can play it yourself, there's a lot of game there right now and a bunch more to come.

Really?

Because, honestly...that's pretty dumb.

Given what the scope of that game is there was literally 0 percent chance it would be done by now. Not even if it was developed by Ubisoft and Warner Brothers combined.

i know nothing about this "game" besides that there are ships that cost real life money that can go up to +$100 and that you can look at them. If I remember correctly you can now fly these ships around. In all honesty I don't see the big deal but then again I'm not one to care about driving a spaceship.

no no no, I found out it wasn't a VR thing a few months ago from steamgaf, not now. silly boy.

Which would hurt you more inside, backing Project Phoenix, Star Citizen, or Mighty No. 9?

I didn't start backing stuff until this year, so it's yet to be seen if I'll be screwed over or not.

I'm guessing it's like Revengeance and their other games in that it's a combination of being pretty much non stop balls to the wall action, and the default difficulties being pretty generous, i.e. hard is really normal, and actual hard is hidden at first. Their games are also clearly always designed for replayability.

I haven't backed it, but my point was more that anyone who looked into what the game is at all would never have expected it be out already, so your opinion that it's taking a long time just seems completely uninformed.

i don't know what project phoenix is but if i had to choose betwen star citizen or MN9 I'd easily pick Star Citizen as the one I'd be disappointed in. Like cmon man, You kick start Star Citizen and then they release some thing where you can buy ships that cost 100s of dollars to look at them? (Correct me if I'm wrong pls) Thats some fucking bs right there.
Then maybe you shouldn't really be giving advice about what people should think about this game then? Or whether they should care about it?

are your feeling hurt?

You're wrong. You can fly those ships, fight other people. But I don't think you care.

At least that is something. We Project Phoenix baker are still sitting on literally nothing.

I won't lie, I didn't backed up Star Citizen because it seemed like a tad too ambitious game. Of course it will take ages to finish, did anyone actually believed otherwise?
I didn't follow this drama too closely, because I don't really see what people can say about a game until 2017-18 and even that would be optimistic.

The single player campaign should come next year. The persistent universe alpha too.

I'm not sure how people expect a 90m game to come out in 2 years.

There is multiplayer dog fighting, dog fighting against bots, battle royale, capture the flag, and entire racing module, a social module where you can walk around a complex with other players and chat, and a hangar, were yes... you can walk around and look at your ships. All this shit is playable today. It has arguably more content then finished games and it's not even done. The FPS is part is coming out later this year and the first chapter of the single player campaign is as well or early next year.

Shits dope yo, I'm not going to stink up this thread with off topic discussion so if you want to learn more check out the Star Citizen Arena Commander thread.

So, more news about the humble monthly thing:
  • "around" 5 games
  • not bundled in a humble bundle
  • except for the "classics", which were

Still nope.

how is Star Citizen different from Elite: Dangerous

except that one is playable, of course

They aren't the same, even if it might seem so, both are space sims, but Elite is exploration, trading game while Star Citizen is basically everything space related the game.
Well maybe not everything but close.

Not sure what the correct term is but my Spelunkalites, you know the feeling when you start at 1-1 and go all the way to 3-x where you die and then the game starts back at 1-1 and suddenly you get almost an urge to puke because you fell so far back again.

No I think I remember the correct term, pissed.

Even if it's so, many people are like me, not interested in a game until it's finished. And as I imagine it, Star Citizen is very far from that, hence drama.

Although, isn't it basically one person that stirs it? forgot a name.

For sure, I'm not sure anybody has to care. Just like any other game in development. The problem stems from the fact that some people presume to tell others what to think of Star Citizen, despite not knowing much themselves.
