Honestly, ever hear of a software package called After Dark? It was basically a screen saver when computer screens could benefit from such a thing. Its just a little animation that runs on your screen that changes over time. think of it like havng a fish tank, only nothing to take care of.

No doubt! I'm surprised SteamGAF isn't all over this. It's so fun with friends (and randoms!). The game is full of mind fuckery.

I finally finished Hotline Miami on the weekend after being stuck on it forever. For some reason, I could not kill the last 2 guys in Tension and I'd pretty much given up on the game. When I tried on the weekend I realised my mistake. Game was a breeze after that, I can't believe I was stuck at all. Amazing game, I think I'm gonna have to get a copy of the soundtrack to listen to because I can't get it out of my head. Can't wait for Hotline Miami 2 now, I'm doing the Kickstarter for the figurines so I can get a copy ASAP.

Eh, kinda? I mean you can woop his ass as anyone, and they kinda handwave how Superman can pummel someone like Green Arrow and not leave behind red jello. It doesn't feel all that weird regardless.

I'm having so much trouble playing this on the pc. I was able to pull off combos better on the ps3 version. I'm not sure what the issue is.

I would try setting the prerendered frames to 1 in your Nvidia control panel (or I think you can use RadeonPro to set the flip queue size to 1 for AMD cards. It's the same thing) It has helped a ton with responsiveness in pretty much every fighter I've used it on. This and Ultra Street Fighter in particular.

Really is. I'm hoping that Capcom take some notes for the inevitable Street Fighter V, and give us a decent story mode finally.

Oh I know. I hope they do also. But since SF4 started getting less and less console-oriented content starting from Super onwards I'm not hopeful. (they didn't even bother to add rival cutscenes for the AE or Ultra characters' story modes.)

I just finished a bit of Mighty No. 9, so here's some very, very early impressions.

1. Feels very indie, and not in a super good way. It's still early, so things can change, but a lot of what makes it feel indie seems to be built into the core of the game.

2. Controls don't feel as "tight" as I feel it should be. The game still demands a lot of you, and with sort of "loose" controls it can sometimes feel like stuff is out of your hands.

3. 'B' and 'A' are switched in menus. That's a Japanese thing, but I haven't experienced it when an Xbox controller is used as a base. That's more of a 'O' and 'X' thing on Playstation controllers.

4. Graphically (and in regards to art design) it feels, again, very indie.

I'm still going back to it. The beta level is definitely designed in such a way to kill you over and over and force you to learn the level.

I can field some questions if people have them as well.

My computer is little more than I game box these days. My power user days are behind me.

what do you mean more than a game box? My computer is my everything. I program in it, I watch most of my media through it and I game on it. o-o What I meant is that originally back in win8 the lack of a start button made win8 annoying to use, and classic shell fixed that. gave you the nice speed of win8 with the functionality of win7 that for some reason microsoft thought it was a good idea to remove in win8. I haven't used the new start button that is in win8.1 cause classic shell already does what I want. From what I was told the new start button is a combination of the tile thing and the old start button. I don't need the tile thing so I'm good with classic shell.

Sure its feasible.

I meant not feasible for this specific project due to how they handled it, what they decided to realistically achieve, etc. But yeah, even if it's the gameplay and level design that will decide the success of this project, I'd love it if a hypothetical Mighty No. 9 sequel aimed higher as far as visuals go and tried to achieve something like that gif.

Ah, well, that was fast.

The boss of the beta level is, uh, predictable? He's got, like, 4 attacks, one of which he only uses once and insta-kills you, and the other ones are easily avoidable.

I still went through all three of my lives when I got to him, but I beat him on my first time (without having to restart the level).

Here's a couple screenshots I took in case anyone's interested. Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2.

The first shot is of the boss, the second shot is part of the cutscene you get when you defeat the boss. They aren't embedded images in case people would consider them spoiler-y.

All in all, it only took me 3 tries to beat the beta level. And this is coming from someone who has trouble beating Mega Man levels, so take that as you will.
