There's a chance, sure. But Sega, despite being one of the more prominent PC publishers around, so far haven't been too interested in porting the Japanese games they published to Steam, sadly.

Binary Domain didn't do too good, which I fear was a reason for that.
Non the less I'm hoping that in 2015 we start seeing more of their past gen and classic games on Steam XO.

It takes away from trying to be stealthy.
Since some of the weakness are so specific to set up. Oh this guy is weak to explosions. Well tough shit if his route doesn't even get close to anyway.

I get what they were trying to do.
They want people to try and be creative with kills but opportunities don't open as much as they should. No matter how good I was to get.

That'd be nice. I'd buy Bayo, Valkyria Chronicles and Resonance of Fate in a heartbeat if they came to Steam.

You do know that you don't have to kill them with their weakness, right?

Generally I just smack them with the Wraith pimp hand and do the rapid hits to build up a combat multiplier. Then I use a combat finisher with my multiplier (if they aren't immune), rinse and repeat. It makes pretty much every captain a joke.

If they're immune to combat finishers, then I just keep wailing on them until they die. Pretty simple.

Granted, if I can kill them with a stealth takedown that's even better. Nothing like using a brutal takedown on a captain and watching his gang scramble to get away from me.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Just about got this feature all wrapped up:

There are a few other things I can do with it, but I might leave it as-is. I was thinking of converting the values to your steam currency, and possibly adding in a check to see if you've met the criteria from within the time frame or not.

It's tricky, because I don't want a rash of emails saying "Enhanced Steam said I qualified for a certain Playfire award but I never got it......."

Don't make trouble for yourself.

My word, those russian traders (or whomever managed to get in on that paradox platinum snafu) are greedy fucking vultures.

You get it for 5 cents and you're selling it for 4 keys?

Yeah, no thanks, I'll just get EUIV through a trader the next time it's on sale for $10 and probably come out at less than 3 keys.

Yeah, in my own personal experience Playfire has always been kind of hit and miss which is why I have reservations about showing completion status.

Playfire is so miss lately that I have stopped trying to get any credit through them. It's not worth my time to go after a 30 hour achievement for $.15.

This, pretty much. Unless it's booting up a game for the first time, or for a game I'm already playing (Mordor) I don't even bother.

If you could use credit with vouchers I might be more apt to earn credit, but otherwise it's a waste of time really.

Steam has apparently just given devs the ability to curate the curators that appear on their store pages, and added a rule that you have to disclose if you were paid to add something to your list.

Yeah it would be best to just leave it as is. Just showing what rewards you can get is good enough, and you will most likely get a bunch of those emails complaining why said reward wasn't gained.

Yeah, their amount of DLC is crazy, especially seeing that only a handful is actual content and every other thing are unit models, faces, flags and music - stuff that could easy be added in a patch.

Well, they do give you the majority of the major expansion packs for free. So can't complain too much. They do good work :)

They certainly do and most of the DLCs is easily ignorable. But I have a problem in general with this kind of DLC politics.

I'm glad to hear that. I know a lot of devs were concerned when some of the top ranked curators for their game used profanity and such so I figured it wouldn't take long for Valve to step in.

I'm also glad to hear that they have to disclose whether or not they were paid. I wonder if that will be represented on the page to the user.

Steps in the right direction. I wonder what the enforceability will be like: can people lose their curator page/channel/whatever if it's discovered someone was paid and it wasn't disclosed?

I agree, the opportunities to exploit certain weaknesses aren't as prevalent as they could be, but there are still ways to attract orcs into traps. It feels more like you are rewarded for reading about and gaining intel on the orcs as opposed to being blocked from killing them how you would like to. I was a little disapointed when I made a headshot on a captain only to have the arrow bounce off, then I figured I'd blow him up and he just got angry and charged me. Luckily I let loose a few caragors and they destroyed him, but this all made it feel more like the captains are something to be reckoned with. If I had bothered to learn about him I would have known how to deal with him. The game tries to reward an intelligent approach, the kind of approach a ranger would take, but that means you can't become specialised in one specific way (like a stealth ranger, or a beast master ranger) which is a nice change from the standard 'pick a path and specialise' type of gameplay a lot of games have.

The way it works seems to be that devs have to approve curators if they don't have a certain threshold of followers. As I understand it, no mechanic to disapprove.

The disclosure thing was added to the curators info page, at the bottom.

State of Decay is pretty sweet guys.

Yeah, it's not bad. I got 17 hours out of it which is pretty good, I think, but the beginning and middle of the game is the best. Eventually you start seeing the forest for the trees and you realize you are just constantly doing busy work and the zombies actually aren't anything of a threat. I can't remember if there's a hard/realism mode? I wish there was.

You seem to have just realized this? This thread has been going like this for a long time.

You've got people lying about this to get games, people begging for CSGO skins and fucking selling them. People selling gifts and claiming to be scammed. Welcome to Steam OT

And that's probably not even half of it.

Enjoy!

So, I just had something very odd and frustrating happen to me.

The other day I purchased Surgeon Simulator 2013 and the Anniversary Edition DLC, they were on sale. After I placed the order I noticed the page didn't load to the confirmation page. I didn't try clicking through again in fear of being double charged, however I noticed that when I checked my library I now had the games confirming to me the purchase did go through. All was good.

Today however I noticed that when browsing Steam that it said I had an item in my cart. "I haven't added anything to my cart..." so I checked it, and there sat Surgeon Simulator 2013 (now off sale). I immedately checked my Steam library and to my dismay Suregon Simulator is no where to be found.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Am I pretty much screwed? I sent a Steam Support ticket in.

I mean I get going for a certain art style and thought it worked and looked cool in Gemini Rue and all that but

getting just straight up ugly
It's cool that Wadjet Eye has grown from being the publishing label for Dave's own pet projects to actually, properly publishing the efforts of other AGS creators, making them semi-commercially viable.... but yeah. This one's by Francisco Gonzales (Grundislav, the maker of the Ben Jordan games). While really neat for hobby AGS freeware games, they've never been real lookers - and once under the additionally scrutiny of being a commercial release, I don't think this holds up to the quality expected of games published under the Wadjet Eye label.

They added a soundtrack for Half Life Source to the store but there's no price on it so I don't know if it's going to be free like the other ones were or not.

Just stumbled across the Alien: Isolation OT (I rarely leave the safe walls of SteamGAF, or venture beyond my subs list)... but hype levels are now very high (even taking into account the supposedly rather brutal save/checkpoint system). Please be good!

Does anyone happen know when the review embargo lifts?

Any story that ends with "I sent a Steam Support ticket in" tends to mean that yes, you're screwed. But good luck to you.

I only saw the survival gameplay vid, but I wasn't super impressed. That said, I'd like to see some actual gameplay before making up my mind.

Do you get email confirmation when you purchase something on steam store? If so Valve should help you out otherwise you are probably screwed as there is no proof in your favor.
