Steam Summer Sale 2013 Thread #3 - Many questions answered in the OP's FAQ

Maybe someone on here might know the answer to this:

I know you can still download a game that's been removed from Steam, but can you still register a Key for a game that's been removed?

Got the opportunity to snag Ghostbusters for $4 and I'd like to play through on the PC with higher settings than the PS3 version.

Quick steam related question: how well does Big Picture Mode play with a DS3 and Glovepie? I just hooked up my PC to the TV in my office and I have a wired 360 pad but I'd prefer wireless all things equal.

I saw Pacific Rim today. It was totally badass.

I wish there was a game like that. Or someone competent made a nice, high-budget licensed tie-in for it, not that laughable Yukes shit.

I think there is an official game for it, I could have sworn I saw it on Xbox.

I will bet you that it's not good though.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
How viable would you say playing through that game without any magic skills is? I don't mean things like weapon enchantments or stuff like that, but straight up shooting fireball and lightning out of hands magic? I don't really care to play magic casters in games and this game featuring only the one character makes me pause wondering if it'll be forced on me.

It's not forced at all. Two main skill trees are melee weapons and ranged weapons. My first playthrough I put 0 skill points into ranged weapons, and just sliced up baddies like there was no tomorrow.

Another thing that's nice about this game (especially with single player) is you have a companion that follows you around and fights by your side, has ranged attacks, etc. Oh, and the companion has a skill tree as well that grants mostly passive abilities.

This game is the shit.

I have a Ghostbusters key from Amazon and it won't work in Steam. I took the plunge and added it to steam as a non steam game, and got an icon for it from the great thread here @ neogaf. It works great with the overlay and everything.

A friend bought WarZ. I don't have the strength to tell him that game is a scam...

You know how every day, from 10:00 to 10:01 PDT, we get a page and a half of "wtf there aren't any daily deals today?" "wtf there aren't any flash sales?" "wtf there isn't a community choice vote?" and then from 10:01 to 10:03 PDT we get "wtf this game is a daily/flash but it's showing the regular price?" and "fuck you valve, what kind of daily deal is -25%" and other stupid shit?
Yes, your point being? After I posted this a Steam friend told me that this isn't uncommon.

Luckily he didn't say that in a passive-aggressive bullshit way, so I'm thankful for having talked to him.

I'm really hesitant to listen to GAF opinions on diablo-likes after the Krater fiasco, and how people were praising that shitty game to the skies. I mean, I guess if you only played a couple hours of that game, it might seem nice and fresh, but the more hours you put into it, the more it fell apart.

Okay, The Binding of Isaac is pretty damn good. Just starting playing it.

I am awful at it, however. Can't even get past the 3rd basement.

I've never seen anyone say anything good about Krater before, I'm really sorry for whoever told you about that one.

Van Helsing is no Krater.

I played through once with melee once with pistols. Worked fine, I think melee is actually the strongest.

Is there usually a couple of minute gap between when the new deals go up at 9 and when the prices for existing deals ends? I've really wanted Risen for awhile now but if I could wait just a few minutes to see if maybe Giana Sisters goes up in a flash deal that would be great.

Hate to bug you guys with this again. But if there is a gap before the price goes up I would like to wait until 9 before I buy Risen.

I don't use pie gloves, but I use my DS3 for all my gamepad needs and it works just fine with BPM.

Sounds interesting. Do you get additional skill points from NG+ or something; like, can you eventually max out?

What is so entertaining about driving a European truck?

I mean, I understand that it's good, by all the reactions of people in this thread...but, why?

11 hours of Euro Truck Simulator 2 played since I got it from DunderHassan a few days ago. It's practically the only game I've actually played of the bunch that I've got during the Steam sale. Yes, it's that good.

Great to hear, I just wanted to swipe and gun stuff so I'm all aboard this train.

Played Dust: An Elysian Tale first time with (Ps3) controller. Switched asap back to mouse&keyboard. The time I would have needed to comfort myself with the new controll setting wasn't worth the lack of precision... Since I play at my little Laptop, I guess that's ok.
