Steam Summer Sale 2013 Thread #3 - Many questions answered in the OP's FAQ

Sooo you've never heard of MMOs?

Open world games are usually a bit more sandbox. Most MMOs these days are designed to filter you through a very linear quest path so you experience things in the exact order the developer wants, instead of just letting you go out into the world and play.

So I'm pretty new to PC gaming. Currently trying to have it substitute for my 360 (which is broken).

Is there a thread out there that helps with using the 360 controller for games like Dark Souls and The Witcher 2? Or is it really straight-forward? I've got a wired 360 controller and a wireless 360 controller (but no wireless receiver USB).

I don't really know a lot about football but plan on getting into the Premiere League when it starts airing on NBCSN this fall. Would Football Manager be decent intro or would I be in way over my head?
This is how I feel. It doesn't show on TV here so I know nothing about the rules, strategies, league structure, etc. I just know you kick the ball into the net and about offsides. I'd be able to do American Football Manager but this is intimidating. I think I should stick to playing PES for now.

So, i don't really remember how old i was or what year it was, but i got myself some Serious Sam 2 from torrent and enjoyed it a LOT. Now i am saying thank you to developers, buying the whole bundle for myself and for a friend. Not sure if gonna play the third one and those spin-offs or what should i call them. Anyway, Serious Sam 2 was a really good game (well, for those times). I loved all the colors, that SHOOT EVERYTHING style of gameplay.

Now i'm 21 and i think i will enjoy it even more now. Anyway, got a little extra for a place i feel comfortable in. Let's see if i did it right :)

The wireless controller won't work without a dongle, but wired will be just fine. There is nothing to set up or think about on any semi-"modern" game. Pressing anything on the controller will send the game into "player is using a controller" mode.

When I hooked up my Xbox 360 controller Windows (7) installed the drivers automatically. Most games are setup for controller already, and for the ones that aren't, I use Xpadder.
