Strike Suit Zero good? Discount is good but reviews aren't great

I have some theories as to why--difficulty spikes, paper-thin story, relies a bit on replaying missions to level up your ships to tackle later missions.

Despite the difficulty spikes (which I'm never a big fan of, I like baby modes but am too proud to use them), I loved my time with Strike Suit Zero. The whole mechanic of switching between flight and strike mode is really awesome, like little else I've seen in a space sim (though people have compared it to Zone of the Enders, which I haven't played yet).

tl;dr It's three bucks. Do you like space sims? BUY IT.

It feels like a really polished mod from circa 2004, which it is, I guess, just not sure about the staying power.

How's L4D2? Any better?

Moreover the community for L4D1 now is pitifully low compared to l4d2

And I will warn this to anyone planning on l4d2 online (the main component of L4d series):

The community sucks : very hostile , full of rage quitters and hostile to noobs. Best to play with friends to get experience and have fun.

The game itself was good but useless if not played with friends.

Because it's bad when you're new, really bad. It sucks.

And you're right about finding lobbies, if a team loses the first round, when one or two rage quit, everyone does, rinse and repeat for about 4 or 5 games, you've waited an hour for a proper game.

Best to join quick games, and even then, there will still be pubs, rages and all sorts.

The thing is, if you can get good or play with friends, it's an extremely satisfying game. One of my favourite multiplayer games.

I have 550 hours in the game

The barriers to entry are high, the end result is fantastic if you can get there.

Good info. I've played L4D2 a few times at gaming centers, So I know what I'm getting into lol.

I'll never understand this. Yes, it keeps out "Joe Schmo", but it also punishes the most dedicated players.

Was Prison Architect a Kickstarter game? (I don't think so, but I'm not sure.) Because that's the reason why the Planetary Annihilation early access is so expensive on Steam, to not screw the Kickstarter backers that paid extra for that access.

For those that are truly dedicated and have been waiting for a game like that, they are willing to spend some extra money to fund development and for continued content down the road.

The game profited almost $400,000 in its first month of alpha, so the price point works just fine.

For those getting into Chivalry, these videos contain pretty good tips, on top of the game's training mode:

Combat Tutorial #1 - The Basics

Combat Tutorial #2 - Advanced Combat

Mechanical Guide to Combat

For those not getting into Chivalry, get into Chivalry.

Your tutorials which consist of more than pressing the scream key whilst yelling "King of the north!" over in game mic chat confound me.

Alright, we got you and me on board...I guess I can host it, If anyone else wants to join a 4-pack for Natural Selection 2, PM me if you are interested.

You guys should really pm him. Outside of The Specialists and Brain Bread NS was my favourite mod for Half Life and it was essentially Aliens the game.

Speaking of Morrowind it hasn't even been a daily/flash/community deal :(

Looking for this and Oblivion. played a bit of oblivion but really would like a chance to complete it.

Morrowind is the only thing on my list I haven't picked up yet. (Besides CK2 dlc but that was my fault for missing it).

Just found out that having my Thomas was Alone save on my brothers computer unlocked all of the achievements for him when he bought it and started it up to play. : /

So I guess we've seen most of the sales now, if not all of them? And... I guess they were the worst sales ever? Am I the only one in thinking this.

Prices overall werent horrible. I was able to pick up a ton of games in my wishlist for 75% off. It all depends how many games are already owned. Like the Christmas sale will probably suck for me since i almost own literally everything now.

holy shit Prison Architect is hard. I thought I had a pretty decent prison but obviously I was mistaken. Once that grant money runs out it's hard as hell to improve things

I thought they were great? With the trading cards it has been one of my favourite sales yet.

Does the Thief series still hold up? Any must have mods if i do bite? Got a $20 steam card as a late b-day present and noticed that the Thief collection is $6.49. Been wanting to try out the series before the new game comes out.

Stupid thing to say, but I hope F1 shows up one more time if there's an encore. Would have picked up F1 2011 during the community choice for 2012 this morning, but it wasn't on sale for some reason.

Little late on the Chivalry talk, but, I picked it up while it was on sale earlier due to the recommendations here, and it turned out to be the most fun I've had in a public multiplayer match in a long time. Great game, definitely recommend anyone pick it up when it's on sale.

As for the graphics being a little outdated, sure, but it doesn't detract from the play experience at all.

People having trouble in Chivalry: It is all about baiting. You have to make your opponent overextend himself. Drill that into your brain. Don't even attack until they have. Ever.

Yeah I guess I already own the vast majority of what I want on Steam, so bar some very big discounts or very recent games, I'm not going to buy a lot of stuff..

What were the 'games' in the previous sales? I remember way more stuff to do. I might be wrong.

Perfect opportunity to see what I've bought!

For Sblargh, who has problems with his CC right now:
Endless Space Disharmony
Little Inferno
Anno 2070 Deep Ocean
Super Meat Boy
Total = ~25€

For me:
Tomb Raider (it was a mistake) (like I actually bought it mistakenly)
Fez (which I already have on 360)
Surgeon Sim
Dark Souls (on Amazon)
Total = ~26€

For gifts:
Remember Me, 24€
(not done with gifts yet!)
