Wait, this game has multi player?

My buddy just purchased it today, so that clinches it :)

lol Of course it has multiplayer. That's the main damn point of the game. Story is just practice. Don't expect to beat anybody though your first playthrough. This game has some hardcore fans that know the ins and outs of this game. It'll take months for you to get the nuances of this game.

EYE is interesting. I played for nearly an hour during last sale for achievement. The plot and the gameplay seemed different and I marked it for playing but never got around and played it completely.

People are probably tired of hearing me shit on STALKER, but I found EYE to be much better than STALKER.

Just Cause 2 is amazing. Currently just running around the east coast of a huge island that still only makes up a fifth of the 400 mile map, blowing shit up and crashing cars into all the thing.

The story missions are amazing too: for the second Agency Mission
have to protect a wealthy drunk as he escapes the Casino. As jeeps chased our,car I shot out their tires and used my grappling hook to cause as much chaos as possible, culminating in me hijacking a chasing jeep, tethering it to a second jeep, and surfing it into a gas station, taking out the last of their forces in the blaze as I parachute back onto our car.
This is still considered a tutorial level.

If its a repeat, buy it! If it isn't a repeat, still buy it!

Should I get the Ultimate Edition o New Vegas if I thought the DLC for Fallout 3 was underwhelming?

And can I buy stuff from Steam without having it installed? I'm at work and I don't really want to install Steam on this machine.

Nexuiz is a decent arena FPS with a pretty cool style, it's fun too, I would recommend it for that price easily.

The post processing effects and MSAA are kind of broken though.

Finally got to play all my games (for at least 20 minutes)

...'
M&B: Napoleon - Crap

....

WHAT!?!?! It has a pretty high skill cap, but once you get that (getting good at melee) you can turn the tide of battles. It's awesome.

That DLC is amazing. I've played it for more than 130hours. It's truly unique though, and has a very dedicated community. I don't think I'll ever stop playing that game, same with COD4 and CS:GO when that's out.

Yep. If you purchase it for yourself it registers on your account and you can install it at home. Get the Steam for Mobile app and you can even do remote installs!

To be honest I haven't played it much but I found it very frustrating and the in game character voices are annoying as fuck.

The vanilla game is brilliant though. So great. One of the best MP games I've played recently.

I agree with you. Especially the Commander Battles are really good if you are low on luck/skill.

Fallout 3's DLC was better, so, unless you want the level cap to go up, I wouldn't fret.

And yes, you can. Purchase it then when you get home bring up your steam, go to your library, type in the name of the game you bought off site and click install

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.
...Well, I guess this is one way for it to end. If this stupid credit card payment is just gonna sit in limbo until next week, I'm probably done buying things for myself unless they're under $2.09. Not worth using debit and forfeiting any rewards just to add to the backlog. :|

I can understand credit expenditures, but why can't credit payments can't be as nearly-instantaneous as, uh...all debit transactions?

I can't believe I bought JC2 for 20 bucks for the 360 and thought it was an amazing deal... Still haven't even removed the shrinkwrap.

I don't think I'll ever buy a console again. These prices are insane. Although... is it normal to feel slightly guilty, as if you were stealing from the developers?

I've been playing it for several months, when it was still a mod. I agree that it's very frustrating, but I love the ingame voices =)

I guess I'm the opposite - I dislike the vanilla game a lot. Haven't played SP yet, but the multiplayer is meh IMO.

Does the interface change at all when using a controller?

I have no clue, but I'd imagine it'd be even more janky. *heh*

It's a fine question - I think there's definitely an identity there - the visual style, characters and music really contribute to it. Mechanically, maybe, it's lacking. It's not for everyone (despite my constant assertions to the opposite) but it's worth a look.

I'll check it out eventually, considering I'm never not buying Steam games.

well.. for anyone that has a ps3 i have the GT5 XL edition downloadable content code that was never used.. would trade for fallout new vegas ultimate if anyone's interested ill go first

I don't buy any mutli-platform games on console. All of my PS3 games are Japanese console exclusives.

You can try getting like a pre-paid debit card at a store, and then see if you can add money to your steam wallet or just use that to buy games. I've never done it, but it's worth a try, or if anyone that can confirm that this works.

I feel that 50% of the games I have bought, I might as well have set my money on fire...

The developers are making more money from these sales than if the games stayed at a full $60 price point. There are many gamers who including me, would not buy the game ever at full price. By dropping to $5, 10 or $15 I give them money that they otherwise would never get. Imagine all of Steams concurrent users, say 5 million, buy Just Cause 2 for $5. The developer just made a lot of money off people who otherwise would have never bought the game at any price.

4 "hidden sales" I'm looking at.

Beat Hazard Complete (a def, I think)
Syberia Bundle, dunno. It takes a special kind of adventure game to hook me in.
The Maw, I don't know anything about this at all.
Zeno Clash, same as above.

Opinions?

Skip the Maw. It's not terrible but it's short and the gameplay is rather simple... Like for young children simple. It's not a good platformer nor a good puzzle game.

So, i continue to buy stuff but i swear now i am only going to spend another 11 dollars, i am not buying anything until i see Driver come up for sale though.

The games i have bought thus far:

Hard Reset

Dead Rising 2: OTR
DNF DLC: The doctor who cloned me
Bastion
Tiny&Big: Grandpa's Leftovers
PixelJunk Eden
Alan Wake American Nightmare
Toy Soldiers
Terraria
Trine 2
Hydrophobia

All for around 65 dollars, not to bad in my book.

Man this has been the worst steam sale ever for me. I didn't expect to buy much since I have most of what I want by now but I expected there to at least be an achievement/game challenge like before instead of these lazy flash deals that just allows them to constantly rehash deals.

Anyway I only spent $13 of my $40 budget before getting too disgusted with the sale and spending the rest on Darksiders 2. This has been the first out of 4 or 5 sales that I haven't spent at least $150.

Ys Origin- $8 (decent game nothing special)
Saints Row 3 season pass- $5. I don't know why I bought this when I hate the main game so much. Already played through all 3 sets too and they were definitely nothing special and not worth $5.

People are probably tired of hearing me shit on STALKER, but I found EYE to be much better than STALKER.

I don't love STALKER (or not vanilla, anyway. Modded STALKER is awesome), but it is 1,000 times better than E.Y.E.

It's intelligible, for one (always a bonus when it comes to games).

It's world is better built.

But the only thing that really matters: it's AI is light years better than E.Y.E. Enemies in STALKER will flank you, retreat, work in groups, etc, etc....where as enemies in E.Y.E. have exactly one action: run straight at you while shooting (while occasionally sniping you with deadly accuracy from 1,000 miles away)

E.Y.E. is awful. It's very ambitious, true, but I don't enjoy games based on their good intentions.

*lol*

I know what you're saying, but that last sentence literally made me laugh out loud considering I think STALKER is a game stuffed with good intentions that it never really delivers on.

Anyway, I think EYE is worth picking up at it's current price, but I'm not going to push it hard because it's not for everyone.

Is New Vegas good? I mean, i've heard good thing, but I wanna hear it from you guys :p I'm not much of an RPG person, but I loved Skyrim? I don't know how good of a comparison that is.

I like you :)
It really came out of nowhere.

I knew nothing about it apart from the odd youtube video and it's probably my favourite pick up of the sale (well I got it for free from the Amazon thread but it still counts).

It's great.

Here's an example story (not really spoilery). I wanted to free some slaves from a compound. I sneaked in at night and took out all the patrolling guards. It took a while but I did it and it was amazingly satisfying. First few tries I got the slaves killed. There are a load of options (e.g. how do you deal with the explosive collars?) and seeing the consequences is great. You can kill most people if you don't like them and the game feels very open.

edit: that story sounded more exciting in my head

New Vegas tells a story way better than Skyrim, it's environments might not be as pretty but that's what happens when its a desert vs a lush mountainous continent. It's a different lore set all together, so they're hard to compare, but, gameplay wise, ESPECIALLY combat, NV is a far superior game

Has the Fallout collection (1, 2, tactics) gone on sale any? I figured it might hit 75% when New Vegas did, but that's not the case. I want to pick up that and Cryostasis but wasn't sure if they would dip lower.

New Vegas is miles better than Skyrim in almost every way possible (Graphically obviously it isn't). If you enjoyed Skyrim you should no doubt enjoy New Vegas.
