Welcome to roguelikes.

Check how much money you need for upgrades and make every run into the castle count. Spend as much as possible on the keep and new weapons/runes since Charon takes most of it away from you again.

Your character will get stronger with each run, your skills will get better with each run and you'll make it deeper and deeper into the castle.

I don't think it's a bad game, but there isn't enough variety. There's basically no level design to speak of and maybe 4-5 room variants. New attempts don't really feel fresh like the best games with procedural generation do.
