Suit yourself. Just know that you are missing out on one of the greatest games ever made. Darksiders is good but it's no Half Life.

For those going after the Hoard achievement:
Choose the "Death Spin" level and defend the bottom left corner of the map. Destroy any of those magic towers that spawn next to you to make defending that corner manageable. A crap load of carts will spawn on that level and a lot of them will pass by your little corner. You can also just wait things out on any of the levels and let the giants do the work as they will destroy carts on their own. Also, don't be afraid to take a princess when you're low on health.

Edit: Oh and in case any of you have no clue what the achievement is about, fireworks go off when you let a knight rescue a princess and bring it back to their tower. You have to destroy the cart though in order for them to rescue her.

Try restarting steam, that usually works.

Yeah but I'm not much of a shooter fan. And I'm a huge Zelda fan.

Half Life is pretty meh now in the combat department.

I thought all the Source games had been ported to Mac?

The original HL can render with OpenGL, so I would expect that to run on Mac too.

I'm getting that with Bad Company 2. Frustrating, since I can't get the TF2 achievement or play the Uncharted 3 Beta until it finishes.

Valve needs new servers, and I hope that's what they spend the proceeds of this Summer Sale on. :p

I heard some guys talking about when they buy a game outside of Steam asking is if its "sort of" steam compatible. There's an option to add non steam games but it just adds a short cut, is this what people refere to?

If anyone has any interest in football at all, you owe it to yourself to buy Football Manager 2011.

It has a bit of a learning curve if you've never played an FM game before, but if you pick a good team to start with and follow the on-screen tips, you shouldn't have much trouble at all picking it up.

Once you start to learn the depths of the game, you can lose hours to it without even realising. I've put over 150 hours into this year's version, and that's short compared to how long some people have played it.

If you take the time to learn the game, it'll suck you in and you'll get one of the best value experiences in gaming.

Some games use Steamworks as their DRM and some games can be linked to your steam account with their serial (Unreal Tournament 3 for example).

You can link up with shortcuts for any game, but with games that use Steamworks or that have a linkable serial number they effectively are the same as a Steam purchase.

Only bought some Magicka DLC. I have everything else or either no interest in it. Damn you previous Steam sales! I still have $12.83 left in my Steam wallet from the $20 it put in.

The only games I'm really looking forward to are:
Freedom Force
Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich
A.R.E.S.
Jamestown
Atom Zombie Smasher
Frozen Synapse
Anomaly Warzone Earth
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Hopefully they'll get daily deal. I don't expect to be able to get all of them for $12.83 but hopefully I can get at least half.

bought magicka, I barely get 35 fps ingame and it stutters every few seconds, what the hell is this<,< (hd4870 graphics card, should be plenty plenty fast enough)

Play in windowed mode, Full screen stutters. It's being a known issue since launch.
