Super Meat Boy doesn't seem to have the new achievement for some reason. Game doesn't seem to want to update either.

It's a hidden personal achievement so it won't show up on the list until you actually earn it.

It's a pretty poor port technically unless your PC already meets the requirements. Even then it has issues. The UI is also kind of carp for PC. Very good game with a controller mind.

Yup. It ran like shit for me. But I still beat the game.

I've got Dawn of War II Gold and The Last Stand DLC pack sitting in my cart. It's not a question of will I buy them, just when. Do I go for it now when they're 33% off, do I wait to see if they go cheaper, or wait to see if there's a Dawn of War bundle that contains the entire series. I understand that since I own Retribution, I've got all I need from a multiplayer standpoint but I wouldn't mind playing through the campaigns. If there's a goal for me for this sale, it's that I walk out of it with the Dawn of War series.

Kinda weak that there aren't any graphics options besides V-Sync for Darksiders. Fortunately it looks pretty good.

Very impressed with Bioshock's visual. It still holds up great.

Just force the options you want through whatever options your GPU provides. Through the Nvidia control panel I applied 8x anti-aliasing, triple buffering and vertical sync to Darksiders.

Darksiders seemed easy as pie to run.

1080p, vsync'd seemed perfect with 1 GTX460 1gig.

sucks that there's no other graphic options other than the ability to change resolution and vsync on/off, tho.

well worth $5. i mean ...its FIVE bucks.

there's hamburgers at fast food joints that cost that much.

Do I need to play through the first Half-Life to understand the second? Otherwise, I could just buy HL2+Ep1+Ep2 and save $3.50.

You can't apply triple buffering through the Nvidia panel. It only applies to OpenGL. If you want triple buffering, it has to be done through D3D.

This happens to me in A LOT of levels in hell
Frankly speaking, SMB has some weird hitbox and graphics problems. Sometimes I go through wall or saws kill me when I DON'T touch them...or when you stand on a platform that goes below a low ceiling it kills you instead. >_>

I got BFBC2 off of the sale today, and my download of it has been anything other than pleasant.

It seems Valve's servers are freaking out over the amount of crap people are buying because I'm just my download speed flat lines every 15~ minutes.

Are you saying the option simply doesn't work?

Dawn of War 2 Gold edition has been on sale for 50 percent off before. This was when the game retailed for $39.99 and the sale price was $19.99. Now DoW2 Gold is $29.99 so 33 percent off is the roughly the same discount. It is possible the game will show up on a daily deal for 50 percent off. How much does 5 dollars matter to you? I bought all DoW2 products at full price and got my moneys worth. 20 dollars for the Gold package is still a good deal even if the price does dip a little lower.

As I've been told, no. That only applies to games that are running OpenGL. If you want to enable triple buffering for DirectX games (which most are), you need to do it through D3DOverider.

Blood for the blood god!

You twisted my rubber arm, bought.

And I would just like to add that it's less that I wanted to save 5$ and more that I would've liked the WHOLE series in one bundle. I could've gifted away the copy of Retribution to a friend and gotten the rest of the series for myself. As it is, I'll probably buy the earlier games at a later date.

Hmph, so I should probably get around to giving D3D a shot then.

Vietnam worth it then? Deciding on either BFBC2 or the complete pack

i like Vietnam. i bought it when it was first released and enjoyed it a fair bit. still play it from time to time, but i prefer the regular BC2 gameplay.

Vietnam gets great reviews from game sites as well.

if you really like the multiplayer game play of BC2, i would get the Vietnam addon for sure. you might even end up liking it better than the regular BC2 gameplay.

here's a quick trailer to give you an idea of it.

darksiders, bought

if its over 80 metascore and $5 or less i'm buying it and damn the fact that I dont have time to finish anything I currently have, much less MORE

Yeah. And I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I always disable v-sync in-game when running D3D. I let that handle it.

D3D also has some issues with DX11. Some games work with it and others not. Booted up Civ V yesterday and had to turn it off in DX 11 mode since it was causing the opening movie to crash.

You don't need to but you want to. Seriously, play them all.

It isn't awful, and it has a cool style, but I don't think it compares to vanilla. I'd go with just vanilla and wait for a later sale if you get into it and decide you want Vietnam. On the other hand, if you can spare $10 for the pack, it also comes with that SPECACT kit which I think gives you the first major unlock in each class. And that's handy. I don't know why that isn't standard. A medic should be able to give out med kits from the beginning... but anyway.

Edit: Actually I might be wrong about that unlock thing.

Nothing that I think I would play any time soon has been on sale yet, but I did buy a friend a copy of BFBC2. So even with my strict backlog rules gabe still gets my money.

You still have about a week and a half to do it. Couple of levels a day won't be a problem.

Is the achievement bugged or something? I just went back and A+'d both the light and dark worlds of hell, and I still haven't gotten the achievement. Did they really just make it that hard to get, or is my game bugged? It also doesn't show up for me in the list of achievements on the community page....

You have to get it all under 496 seconds, so better than A+.

Ha, has anyone bought Garshasp? I didn't even know it was on Steam!

i grabbed it the other day as soon as i saw it for $2.50.

i enjoy games like God of War/ 3d action, so @ $2.50 i figured that i couldn't go wrong.

pretty ambitious little indie title. its not too bad from what i've seen so far. well worth $2.50 anyway, imo.

and getting the Garshasp achievement today brought me up to my first 3 tickets which i spent on the Homefront DLC. :p

How exactly do I get the Jolly Rover achievement?

I can't believe the SMB achievement, what the fuck were they thinking?

i doubt you'll ever see it for $4.99 on consoles.

and the xbox version had performance issues when i saw it at a friends house.

dunno how good it is on ps3.

Darksiders launched with tearing issues on 360 but it was mostly cleaned up. It's practically identical on PS3, except better quality cutscenes. It's sub-HD on both.

Oh, I hadn't installed it yet. I have no idea when I actually bought it, but apparently I own it, so... Anyway, just play through the first ten minutes of the game and I'll get it?

Good lord. Why would they make it that difficult? The light and dark world versions of the 4th level need to be beaten at times far faster than A+ is not particularly easy for experienced Meat Boy players, let alone people who might randomly buy the game today to get the achievement.

Buy it. The PC version is great. I played through the whole thing on mouse and keyboard but you can just as easily plug in a controller.

Plants vs Zombies worth the 3 bucks? I've never played tower defense games much. I watched some videos of it and it looks charming enough.
I've spent lots of time with it. It's fun. For $3 it's an easy sell.

I gifted it to my g/f and she got 100% on the achievements. I'm so proud of her.

Pretty much. With a walkthrough, you can probably do it much faster. It even has a system that tells you which items are clickable.

Yup, like the Hoard achievement, it's a total troll. :D

Thanks, I think I'll stick with my original plan, though. I'm getting Darksiders as well, so I want to keep my expenses down.

Seeing as people are doing Horde bundles to save 70cents, i thought you might appreciate this.

Super Meat Boy is $6.95 at Greenman Gaming. Greenman Gamings version must register on Steam.

You can use a referal code to get $5 credit back after purchase, but i wont post it since it's against Neogafs TOS rules.
