I cant log into my steam account because I changed ISP and I've contacted them, including a CD KEY of Half-life 2, still no word back after like 2 days. Shit. I dont wanna risk making a new account and having to play everything on there, and I dont want get things as 'gifts' in order to give myself incase I never manage to log back in on my old account at all =( sucks man.

How does changing am ISP prevent access to your account? Did you lose your email address you registered on steam with?

Instead of having each game with a discount, EA games are being sold in packs.
Some of the packs discounts are rather small, but it's possible that we'll see some of them in daily deals, like the Battlefield BC2 pack.

Battlefield BC2 Pack: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8666/
Dragon Age Pack: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8671/
Mass Effect Pack: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8673/
The Sims 3 Pack: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8665/
Need for Speed Pack: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8667/
Dead Space Pack: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8672/
This MassEffect pack is kind of outrageous. 34 for both games? Mass Effect 1 was 5 bucks not long ago. Unless the pack goes on a 75% daily deal (meaning around 5 bucks for Mass Effect 1, 10 buck for Mass Effect 2), which I doubt will happen, it's not a very good deal.

I can see it going for 66% off tho. I don't know if 20 for the pack is a good price either - I blame the Digital Deluxe Edition for ME2.

Anyone else getting "this game is currently unavailble" messages? I'm only getting it with The Witcher and that's the one game I've been wanting to play all day.

:(

Half-Life complete is $10, for

Half-Life
Half-Life: Blue Shift
Half-Life: Opposing Force
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Team Fortress Classic

God why do I drive myself nuts everytime they come up for sale. I always want to buy them even though I only liked Hal-life and didn't really care for Half-life 2. I don't deny they're AAA games. I just can't get into them.

The Steam Client tends to fall apart when the servers are under stress.

Yeah, the DD of ME2 is 9.99 on Amazon. I don't think EA really likes Steam :(

I seriously should have just added funds to my steam wallet and limited myself. I haven't spent too much yet, but I'm seriously being tempted to spend money on things I don't need. I could see myself spending around $100 when I only planned on maybe spending $20.

Yeah, but it's only happening with The Witcher! I tried 7 other games and they're all loading fine.

I tried changing my server location etc but that didn't work.

Starting to annoy me. Been like that for the last six hours now.

You don't get to 500 users without making 30 million+ enemies.

Weird. I've had intermittent issues with games refusing to load and/or update, verify, etc., but I can't say said issues have ever been so isolated. :/ Do the game files verify without error?

You can download that for free once you have HL2.
It actually downloads Lost Coast for free automatically. I just bought the pack and this will be the first time I'm playing the HL games (not a big PC gamer).

Wondering if I should bite on AvP. Community is probably dead, but is it worth it for the campaigns?
Do you like Aliens? Do you like Predator? If you said yes to both of those, than yes, it's worth it.

Does any one know which games were updated with new achievements but haven't had a daily ticket yet? We know Spiral Knights will show up again, and Killing Floor is a sure thing. Any others? I'm trying to download stuff before it gets slammed again.

Anyone want JC2? I bought it on Gamersgate for 5, then forgot and bought it again during yesterday's Daily. I can PM you the serial code that I got from GG. It is a Steamworks title, so it should be all good.

So i really enjoy the puzzle quest like games, but i already have them both, and will get gyromancer if it goes on sale further. Are there any other games similar to that? Like puzzle / rpg games, or even just rpg games that are not traditional / main stream.

Was downloading some purchases over night, and forgot about my student apartment internet connections ridiculous "authentication" that takes place every night around 2:00 AM that requires you to login to their system every day. Stopped the downloads. Dumb.

How much? I'll take it if you're just giving it out.

I bought the four main titles yesterday and got them. I wasn't as interested in any of the others, which is why I didn't go for the complete pack.
Maybe it's only with solo purchases, I got my HL2 in the OB a couple of years ago.

does anyone know/think if guild wars will go on sale? or if it did last year?

looking to try an MMO and a no monthly fee seems like a good choice ;)

Yep. I verified in case something didn't download correctly with the recent server issues, but that all came back fine.

Guess I just have to wait it out, which is a bit annoying.

Just bought BF BC2 pack.
Have it already for PS3 which I bought on a sale and have never played it.
Am I doing it right?

Of course you are! The game is totally different on PC. You get better graphics, more players, 60 FPS, clean image quality, better sound and so on.

The Vietnam expansion sucked though....the map design was totally awful

Yeah thats exactly what happened. I would have changed the email addy before, but I ended up reformatting my PC and totally forgot, then the summer sale came up, I went to log in and then I got hit with the email confirmation bullshit. I would'nt mind so much if they responded to their support messages relatively fast but its been over a couple of days now.. :/

Super Meat Boy and Darksiders bought, 12gigs for Dark that will have to wait while I sleep but SMB is being install as i type this...

I just noticed something else: The pack is cheaper on the US Store than on mine (Latin America).

Bad Company 2 by itself is 5.00 on the US store, 7,50 here. Same thing happened with Medal of Honor: It as 10 bucks in the US store, 20 down here.

I really need to stop buying Steam games on an impulse. For years I'd held out on the service before being pressured into getting it. The sales are great but I keep buying games that really aren't suited to me.

Today? Battlefield Bad Company 2. I love the game on 360, but fucking hate the keyboard and mouse for FPSs. Worst thing is that I *knew* I'd hate playing it after the last/first few sessions of Left 4 Dead 2 on PC that I've endured.

But that's the power of discounting; you buy shit you don't need.

I bought The Witcher 2 also.

Nice. I finished TW: EE just the other week and I'll be purchasing the sequel when I upgrade in a few weeks time. :)

I played BC2 earlier and I think I saw joypad in the options. I bet it has native 360 support as such a recent release.

Witcher 2 is the one I really want to play, but I'm going to have self control and go through the first one before I play that because I've been meaning to do it for a while. Glad I could pick up both this sale for £30.

Guild Wars is not an MMO. It's a CORPG with a 3D lobby. There is no persistant world, everything is instanced.

Fable 3 is tempting me way too much. Even though everyone says it is crap, I loved the second one.
Also, is any of the dlc worth getting?
Well, it's your money and your loss. If you want to spend your money on a securom infested game where handholding and ballroom dancing with men are vital gameplay mechanics, feel free to do so :).

Do you hate mouse and keyboard? Or just keyboard? Because there are plenty of games where you could get away with using the controller and mouse. I'm k/m only these days, but I transitioned with Quake 3 on Dreamcast using controller and mouse.

And despite what some snobs will tell you, as long as you don't need more buttons, controller and mouse works just as well k/m. Every once and I while I'll go back and try this setup for the HDTV and it works really great.

I can blindly type about 100 wpm when I'm warmed up. So I know my way around the keyboard too. It's just that the controller works surprising well for the less complex games that don't need 15 button maps.
